The Dining Room - Park Hyatt Sydney
Absolutely magical. We had the best anniversary dinner with a little surprise at the end. The staff were so accommodating and the food was amazing and came out so quickly. Make sure you ask for a window seat!
Absolutely divine chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. The sommelier was fantastic!
Outstanding service with excellent food in a beautiful setting overlooking the opera house. My favourite location for lunch in Sydney !
Poor.... misses the mark. Let’s try to just hit the main points.
Made reservations online. Commented it was my wife’s birthday and if we could sit by the window since it was our first time in Sydney. Dinner was at 7:15 so still early other tables were available by the window. At no point was there any comment about the birthday from the restaurant. Close to the window, but not next to it. Ok that’s fine. However she could see I could not due to a support column. Ok fine....
Server didn’t understand English too well. Asked what was potato’s spaghetti that was on the menu she commented it’s potato and spaghetti. Nice....
We are foodies we really wanted to do the food pairing however our server just didn’t commutate anything very well so we had two apps and one meal to split.
It felt like the customer wasn’t important at all. One gentleman that came over to the table that worked there was very nice and professional wish I knew his name.
Sever asked if I was done I commented no I wasn’t and proceeded to take my plate. After getting louder she put it back down. It wasn’t just the server it was the entire experience.
It was very disappointing for a couple celebrating a new experience and Birthday. I would not recommend anybody go if you want a true foodie, classy experience.
charged $6 each for water without any knowledge that still water was mineral water and not table water. And if so, the mineral water should be presented in front of us, and left on the table. However the water was in a jug. How are we to know that water was not from the tap? Sorely disappointed by the grossly high price of water in such an establishment. All Australian dining establishments offer the option of table water. Was not expecting to pay $18 for lukewarm water. Will not recommend.
fantastic views of the Sydney ppera house and harbour bridge
food was well presented and a good variety
seafood platter was plentiful
mains were delicious as was the desserts
service was professional
nice to be able to have drink in the bar area first
thanks for great experience
Really enjoyed the food and the ambience - the distant bar noise got a little louder as the night went on, but did not detract from a wonderful evening. The wait staff were very helpful but not intrusive. Would highly recommend. We enjoyed every dish we tried.
While most of the essential components were good I was disappointed in the overall experience. I've been there for special occasions over some years. The standard of dress code has clearly dropped, tee shirts and rough woolly sweater being OK. Just like any other canteen. Too bad because the food and presentation are excellent. Wines on the pricey side. Location is unparalleled. I regret that it is unlikely that I shall take guests there again but wish you well.
The service and quality of our experience was superb.
Perfect setting and a lot of activity to watch outside.
Some dishes seemed an attempt to be different but missed the mark. The salmon entree was more like breakfast cereal, very dry and lacking flavour....the main ingredient should be the main ingredient. Mains and sides were quite good, particularly the lamb which was wonderful in flavour, the pink snapper was also good. Desserts were great.
Staff need to recognise when people are involved in conversation or are ready to order (body language tends to give a person some idea). We didn't like the constant "are you ready to order" We met up with family and wanted to spend a few minutes talking. We said we'd let them know when we were ready to order but felt hurried.
We have eaten at the Park Hyatt several times over a period of a few years. (would probably go twice a year) Sometimes the whole menu is wonderful and you don't know what to choose and every dish meets or exceeds expectations. Howevert we felt yesterday's menu was a choice by elimination and even then it wasn't great. If it was our first visit we wouldn't be back but we have also had wonderful meals so would try again.
I would recommend to a friend but would also have some comments with the recommendation.
Had a lovely time there on my anniversary service was excellent food so Maisie atmosphere was great view was amazing overall and amazing experience
our dinner was amazing and the service of our waiter tom was exceptional
The service was outstanding and attentive staff. The tasting menu was excellent.
I would recommend but only for those who can afford this level - but you do get what you pay for
Food was excellent, views unbelievable. It was all good
I had the snow crab salad for entree, the crab was tasteless and to call it a salad was a stretch. The rest of the meal I thought was average which was disappointing as I have been there a few times previously when I thought the quality of the food was really good.
Nice restaurant with outstanding food and service.
The view is good. Staff friendly.
Cutlery are really really old. Doesn’t suit the whole environment. Food tastes ok but nothing too special for that price.
Low value for money
Staff is very friendly service!
So nice view and great food!
Delicious food , unbelievable views and exceptional staff.
I highly recommend to have high tea with Park Hyatt, beautiful view, excellent customer service, delicious good
It was our Anniversary and the staff made us feel very special with congratulations on arrival and a special dessert to finish the evening. beautiful food, view, wine and lovely ambiance.
Really nice atmosphere, great foods and good service. The views was amazing.
What impressed me the most was the waiter's knowledge of our particular wine and he could even speak in my mother language being German. The food portions are not big, just right, actually we felt satisfied after finishing the meal and did not have the feeling of having over eaten.
Amazing Staff, beautiful atmosphere, great customer service
1990's style of food, that was no where near worth the money we paid for it. Uninspiring, with no taste. We won't be back until they find some inspiration and wake up to 2019.
Fabulous venue to spend the afternoon enjoying gourmet food and spectacular Harbour view. Will come back again.
Iconic location, quiet dinning room, beautiful music, gourmet five course dinner meal, great price! Sweet Birthday cake for my son’s 21st birthday. Really enjoyed and will definitely recommend to others.
Very friendly staff - perfect service, perfect Location, really good Food.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The highlight of the evening was the service, which was outstanding, attentive and very accommodating. The one disappointment was that I found a bone in the kingfish, which was noticed in time. My only suggestion is to slightly reduce the lighting in the evening so as to get a better view of the harbour. Otherwise, the ambiance is excellent.
Great location, food and service. Felt undressed due to traveling, but the staff did not make us feel that way. Thanks!
A must for afternoon tea in beautiful Sydney. Outstanding service, delicious food and a view that is picture perfect!
Great service. Great evening. Looking forward to the next time
I would highly recommend The Dining Room if you are looking for somewhere a bit more fine dining. The food was amazing and the service was great. The staff were very helpful with their suggestions on both food and wine. The view of the opera house is an added bonus
The food looked beautiful and tasted great. However, the serve size was only adequate for a small female or child. $250 for food alone and leaving hungry was disappointing.
Had my birthday celebration in The Dining Room and tried the tasting menu. Food was great, service was excellent, special thanks to Mary Ann for providing an excellent service.
Everything is good- except the confirmed email to me, there is the "Get directions" instruction. however, it is a wrong one. I followed that and it took me 30 walking to another place. Feeling bad with that.
Great food, awesome location, brilliant service. Been many times and always fantastic.
Tom, Tom, Tom.....!! What's wrong with you Tom?? For those who don't know the famous Tom yet, let me introduce him. Tom is the guy who came, over confidently to welcome me and my wife and place us. As I felt from the beginning that Tom is that kind of arrogant person, I politely asked him if he could try to find a better table than the one at the entrance with no view that he just showed us. I informed the great Tom that it was my wife's 30th birthday and that I have already mentionned this during my booking. Tom, who looked even more upset that he actually is, checked is tablet and found out I only booked a table 2 days earlier in what he seems to think is HIS restaurant. So Tom decided to put it on my face saying this is not fair for other guests who booked MONTHS in advance to get a chance to meet Tom himself. Problem is that Tom didn't check well around him. Tom didn't see half of the restaurant was empty. Tom didn't check well on his tablet. So I politely asked Tom if he could just check again and see if he can sort something out for my wife's special occasion. And there comes THE GREAT TOM again with this somptuous response: "You know Sir, your wife has her birthday the same date every year so why you didn't book earlier?" What Tom doesn't know is that my wife and I just arrived in Sydney, don't know anything about the different venues and decided to get a bit more familiar with the surroundings first. For us, it was quite an experience, having such an unpleasant guy with his big mouth coming at us like we are coming from nowhere. Trying to teaching lessons in a very disrespectful way. I have to say it was a first time ever to face such a situation in such a fancy place. So well I decided to shoot Tom back to where he comes from. The rest is all smooth and silk. Tom's colleague, Alve if I am not wrong, and other staffs apologized (shame on you, Tom) and served us in an amazing way one of the best seafood in one of the best place and one of the best view EVER!
Lovely (kid free) date night. Tasting menu was amazing with an excellent selection of wines. The view of the Opera House was stunning. Highly recommended for a lovely night out
