The Dining Room - Park Hyatt Sydney
We were upgraded to private dining room and enjoyed fabulous high tea w great service
Great food, lovely service, great ambience, could have a conversation easily and an added touch of a homemade chocolate which said happy anniversary.
Pricing was too high especially for the “crap salad” which wasn’t exactly a salad would have cost a few dollars in ingredients :( honestly felt ripped off when we received it
Tom, the sommelier is very knowledgeable and approachable. He was willing to discuss with customers about wines. Environment of the restaurant is good. You don’t feel crowded in the restaurant. I would like the wine list has more by glass options.
food was very slow. had to wait an hour for a main after entry. The view help us not scream by hungry. then the food was not hot and tasteless. The bill was wrong that the waitress resist that we have to pay extra because the manager said there will be xtra?!? for a choice that we chose but we insisted to see menu as we remember there isn't. The waitress not return to our table again maybe because very funny reason she gave us? but another person came to say sorry and all the staff look at the menu and they talked to each other. I think as park Hyatt , thing should be better than this for its standard.
Beautiful view service not as expected as married 25 years ago has really disappointed me with service in restaurant. The staff in Lobby Bar and service is completely 100per cent better than Dining room as eat weekly in lobby bar. Service if staff in Dining room quite disappointing. As it was a 25 year anniversary after our marriage reception in hotel 25 years ago which was amazing then to now.
The view is superb, the tables comfortable and the service remarkable. AN excellent place for a special event
I have dined at the Hyatt for dinner.
The experience was amazing.
The lunch we had was abysmal.
The menu was boring and the service was very average.
The Hyatt needs to up there game with there lunch service.
There was no ambience at all.
The Hyatt is renowned for high quality and service it was definitely none of these when we dined.
Very disappointing overall.
As always service food view excellent never disappoints
Cozy and good ambience to enjoy with loved ones. The overall experience was positive
No bread offered. No butter offered. Waiters took a long time to realise when to give the bill. Restaurant was only half full. Stood for 5 minutes at the front waiting for someone to notice me, so they could retrieve my coat. Went to the bar outside the restaurant in an attempt to get a staff member to retrieve my coat. Otherwise food was good, table service was excellent.
Awesome view beside the window, special and tasty food, sincere receptionist. Steak and lamb are really great.
We had the tasting menu with matching wines. The food was really good however the wine was a little disappointing with 2 of the wines just not being very nice and didn’t compliment the food at all. The service wasn’t great, our drinks took forever to come and we had to ask for the wine when it was forgotten. Although the staff were friendly we did seem to be somewhat overlooked at times.
We were celebrating our mum’s birthday and they gave her a little cake at dessert time which she really loved so that was a lovely gesture.
Perfect as always and the food is just unbeatable - never disappoints
Beautiful service, great view, surprise birthday dessert at the end.
Highly recommend this restaurant
Great food with awesome atmosphere. The staff were all very kind and service was excellent.
Food and Service was amazing, which matched the views
We had a great dinner to celebrate two birthdays in our group of 6. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I have an allergy for shellfish and Izy was our waiter and she was very thoughtful and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend the location and it was great that we could continue our discussions after dinner at the bar and at the lounge till about 2am that morning with an awesome view!
Super loud literally need to yell at my friends or they won’t hear me. And $28 for a 1/3 glass of rosé that tasted like it’s from 7-11, thank you next
Service and food was very good, great wine list and staff informative and courteous
The best duck I’ve ever tried! I came here to celebrate my wife’s 30th and really enjoyed this place. The staff were extremely accomodating to my request for a birthday surprise towards the end. I didn’t get the window view as requested but enjoyed the food and atmosphere nonetheless. The portions were small but did the job, and the duck was amazing! Overall a very good experience.
Cozy dining atmosphere; friendly and thoughtful service; mellow wine; one or two more main courses would be fantastic as we just reach 50% of our stomach capacity 🤪
We had a wonderful lunch for my husbands’s birthday. The food and service were exceptional. Thanks so much.
Tasty food, solid (and well priced) wines and the view's not bad either.
Wonderful, we go 1-3 times a year for the last 5 years and l’ve never disappointed !!
Consistently an outstanding dining experience , excellent food, intimate dining, superior service and beautiful harbour views.
We arrived for our booked dinner at the Park Hyatt Dining Room 'arranged' via OpenTable (which had been confirmed and a follow-up reminder received) to be greeted with "we're packing up the food service soon". We then discovered that the Dining Room itself was closed that evening. Given we had travelled from Canberra this was somewhat disappointing. The staff at the Hyatt Bar were unable to say whether this was an OpenTable problem or a Hyatt Dining Room problem, and the reaction was to offer us the chance to purchase bar snacks.
If you are going to sub-contract your booking system you are still responsible for your bookings.
Made very welcome, especially my daughter who was celebrating her 16th birthday. A special mocktail was brought to the birthday girl at the start of lunch and a little birthday treat for dessert. Great room with a view of the Opera House and to watch the bustle on the harbour go by.
Loved The Dining Room experience however the vegetarian options were very limited. With more meal options for Vegetarians this experience would be perfect!
Great food, amazing service and a great ambience and view of The Opera House and CBD. Couldn't ask for much more really! Ordered the Black Angus steak and Barramundi, both were perfect, plus we received a free dessert as our booking was for our anniversary. Would recommend to anyone in Sydney or visiting, who wants a great dining experience.
The truffle degustation menu was well worth it... plenty of truffle and great flavour combinations. Highly recommended
Service was excellent and always with smiles
Perfect for a nice romantic birthday dinner with my partner.
The food was great, but unfortunately the service was super slow. We finished our meal and almost 30 minutes nobody take our empty plates.
Even We order Lemon Lime Bitter also very long long time to served.
I won’t be back even the food and the view was fantastic.
Service is important!!!!!
It was ok, they didn't let me have the baked eggplant as an entree, I had read that some other people were able to do that. I paid $15 for a glass of wine and got the last slops from the bottle, not sure it was a standard drink. The wagyu entree was really nice. The duck was well cooked but the raisin coffee puree was a little overpowering for the duck. Kids liked the desserts. Overall, not the best value in town but the view was lovely.
We were so well looked after by the amazing staff at the Dining Room. I booked lunch for my mum's 60th birthday. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a semi private dining area. The view is just stunning and service was impeccable start to finish. The menu is so flexible so you can have mains as entrees and vice versa. Food was delicious. My two preschool aged children also had a great time colouring in their menu and eating their specially made meals so we were able to enjoy a nice family lunch. I would definitely recommend the Dining Room
Great service and nice cosy interior restaurant setting. Would appreciate some soft music to dull out the sound of conversations from other tables.
As mature experience diners around Sydney here is our review...
Value for money - portion size was very light on which was disappointing especially mains.
Had the Burrata entree and the presentation of this needs a serious rethink as it’s a dish which cannot possibly be eaten with a knife and fork!
Waiters were aware this dish was going to be shared and supplied one spoon only. We needed to use our set desert spoon to eat this, for fine dining and high price this was a tad embarrassing.
I would like to see eye filet on the menu as a prime piece of meat, not beef cheek which was pulled and pressed into a tiny rectangular form.
Would love to return to regular patronage but can’t see this happening regarding portion size or value.
I think there is a fine balance between artful food and feeling satisfied when one leaves the table.
I left rather disappointed especially since I had raved about this place for years.
It used to be called Harbour kitchen/dining room and food was fine with many robust dishes in comparison to what was served.
We chose to come and dine here as it was a special occasion night and my partner wanted to bring me to this my favourite place.
We both value location and food and as beautiful as the location and atmosphere is... we left feeling as though we only payed a premium to sit in a space for “view time” not food.
We have dined frequently at The Dining Room over the years and have noticed is slow decline.
To clarify, firstly the menu lacks variety. Secondly the side order of broccollni left much to be desired. How can you serve up 4 stems of broccolini and charge for it?
Thirdly, we always book well ahead because everytime we have tried to book on the same day we are told that the restaurant is booked out and yet everytime we done there there are plenty of tables sitting empty.....please explain?
We have eaten here several times and not been disappointed until this night. As the organiser of the evening I was very embarrassed. The menu was limited, no beef was offered as a choice which eliminated several of our guests. We were happy to pay the amount for exceptional food. Unfortunately the food presented was ordinary in flavour at best. The serving size of sides was abyssmal, not even a full bunch off broccolini per serve. Additionally, the concept of charging your diners $25 per person for high top seating was ridiculous. Thankfully the fee was wavered which is why we decided to come to The Dining Room. It was a very disappointing evening only marginally saved by the good service.
Amazing views of course.
2 course menu for $80 of course is full price in Sydney
Server helpful dealing with allergies and very courteous and thoughtful
New sommelier a great addition and positive energy to the team
Took 1h for mains to arrive (after seating at 20h45)
Water only filled up once
Felt restaurant was full and understaffed
