Please don’t just see this as a three-star review and move on; there was definitely some stuff to enjoy here, and it’s not like Lubbock, TX, is full of fine-dining options. The local mushrooms were AWESOME! And the restaurant’s attempt to locally-source many things is commendable. One of the few places I was able to find that both took reservations AND had vegetarian entrees. Seemed like the crew had a tough time handling the busy evening with it being Parents Weekend at Texas Tech: service was good, but slow (three cooked meals came out first, and a cold salad was almost 10min behind); dishes were well-designed, but the execution was just a little over mediocre (risotto wasn’t fully cooked, pizza wasn’t done in the middle, Caesar salad was over-dressed); the only silverware we were provided was forks. Liked that the chef stopped-by to greet our table. Didn’t feel like it was a $200 meal. Maybe we’ll give it another try on a less-busy weekend visit.

Love the concept of the restaurant with fresh in-house greens. The staff and servers were great, the atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious.

While the food was excellent, the services was very slow. We waited about 10 minutes after being seated before anyone from the wait staff appeared to take our drink orders. We had not been given drink menus so it took several more minutes before we could order drinks. Service continued to be slow throughout the meal. Either the restaurant was understaffed or they need to improve their focus on efficiency. Still a good meal and we will likely go back when we are in Lubbock.

Food and menu are terrific! Service was a bit scant for what we’d expect from that caliber of a restaurant. Dining areas are VERY loud - the Owner needs to install some ceiling acoustical treatment to offset the noise. Also, the tables for parties larger than 4 are ill-suited to deal with the noise. 6-foot round tables make it even harder to hear conversation I’m at your table with all the racket.

The food has gotten so much better at the Co-op, but the service has been a little hit or miss. We received a drink last night that was so strong, we could barely keep it at the table, much less drink it. Also, and this is becoming a bigger issue over time, but the flies and gnats are getting out of control. The gnats, I assume, are due to the herbs being grown next door, but the flies were wild. I cannot stress that the food and its diversity are still probably worth the trouble, but they need to figure out the situation to marry the great and unique food with a more comfortable environment. Otherwise, bring a fly-swatter.

Had Sunday Brunch and the food was great! First time there and will definitely go back. All the food at our table was complimented on and the waitress was great and attentive to our needs.

This is a unique place to dine. Smaller menu but good choices. Unfortunately my daughter’s Halibut was way overcooked and so was my wife’s salmon (which she order medium rare). On the other hand her risotto was undercooked. Much of it crunchy. I had the Cajun pasta and it was delicious. Our server was delightful. Very helpful and friendly. We did let the kitchen know about our problems and they were responsive. Also, the drinks weee spot on. If they had taken more care with dinner a definite winner.

I've been there for lunch many times and decided to take out of town guests there for dinner to celebrate my birthday. On a Saturday night the place was not very full and the food wasn't very exciting. We were told that they were out of the local mushrooms and the pizzas but we saw a big table get pizzas anyway! I had a chicken sandwich and chose the homemade chips which came soggy, I told the waitress and she brought more and the top of the little bowl was ok but the rest were soggy. Our guest said her ribeye was fatty and our other guest found her chicken confit very unexciting. It seemed like the chef was out to lunch. The desserts seemed lackluster so we left and went elsewhere for dessert.
