Service and ambiance were great. Other than the Buffalo shrimp appetizer, the entrees and dessert were a bit of a disappointment in terms of flavor. The mac and cheese and fried chicken lacked flavor, fried fish was prepared using trout which was fine but the skin was left on so it wasn’t very palatable. The cheesecake wasn’t great either. I’d return but maybe try their burgers next time. And no dessert.

The food was amazing!! I can not wait to go back.

Absolutely loved our brunch experience at The Charles! The food was delicious, fast and fresh! Highly recommend the French toast sticks, chicken & waffles and steak & eggs. Monique provided exceptional customer service as well! She was very welcoming, patient and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely be returning!

Brunch outside on a beautiful day. Bloody Mary with crabmeat (!), fabulous Brussels sprouts, eggs Benedict, French toast, and a burger at our table. Can’t wait to go again.

Arriving at the 6:00 PM hour, it might be that the amount of guests overwhelmed the available wait staff. From sit down to drink was 40 minutes. Got the wrong salad order, and the fries were far, far from crispy (let's say limp). Staff was very apologetic, which was appreciated.

Brunch was delicious and our service was great. Will definitely go back.

We arrived early for lunch and ordered a couple burgers. They were DELICIOUS! The fixings (lettuce, tomato, pickles...) were nice and fresh. The pickles were excellent! We chose fries and sautéed spinach for our sides. Both very tasty! Our servers were wonderful; being attentive and kind. Be sure to check out the Market! Filled with a huge variety of all types of goodies! And the sandwich, coffee, and bakery counter there too!

The service was not the greatest . We waited 25 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The hostess was nice enough to take our drink orders. Our server was overwhelmed with too many tables .

Made reservations for my birthday for 2 friends. Was seated upon arrival and due to our reservation. Waitress was friendly and told us the specials and made recommendations. She told us about a 2-hour limit for seating (which wasn't enforced, I'm guessing due to us being there near close) and that the crab cakes were "almost gone". She took so long coming back with our drink orders that the crab cakes were gone by the time we ordered. We ended up ordering spinach and crab dip and for entrees-wagyu steak, Nashville hot chicken, and swordfish. Appetizer was good, we needed more pita bread which they provided. Steak was good, but the Nashville hot chicken was dark (like they needed to change their cooking oil) and flavor-less. I even asked for more of the sauce on the side and that didnt help. My friend said that swordfish was "okay." Sauteed greens were part leafy and part cooked and the mac and cheese was nothing to write home about. What really got me was needed to track down our waitress most of the time-then when she saw i didnt eat the mac and cheese and that our response was the food was "just okay"..it was crickets. lol....dont ask me how my meal was if you're not going to do anything about it if it wasn't satisfied. We got free dessert with sparklers which was cute, but overall it was "meh". I live in Waldorf and drive to more metro places for better restaurants. Was excited by their reviews and menu, but disappointed that The Charles didnt deliver during my visit.

I love sitting on the patio!!! And they have heaters. The food was amazing as usual—- I love the Brussel Sprouts and French toast.

Our server Kate has always been great to us. All food was great. I ordered the wagyu sirloin special medium rare and I should have known with it being a sirloin it wouldnt be as tender as I thought. All in all though a great experience every time. I am so glad they know how to make a dirty martini properly!!!!! You guys have no idea how much that means to us.

Excellent service and COVID practices were honored.

Sat in a great window seat. Very quiet in restaurant. Server was kind and attentive to our needs. Try to crab soup please. Great beer and wine menu as well. All of our meals came out looking amazing and tasted well. We'll be back.

Fast and delicious per the usual. The chicken paillard and Brussels
Sprouts are my go to. also shared a pitcher of sangria. Only comment would be that there was too much ice that it made it difficult and messy to pour.

This experience was not as good as the last time dined here. Our apps were good aside from one dish missing the sauce. All 3 orders of LP burgers were kind of dry, meat was over done. Our water glasses sat empty a bit. Service was kind of ok. I feel like we were overlooked a few times.
Usually we get great service and the food is really good. Not sure if they were just super busy in this night.

Everything was delicious, the prices fair for the quality, and the service outstanding. Also, I would like to commend management for maintaining adequate safe distance between tables on what is likely their busiest day of the year: Valentine's Day.

We arrived at 4:45 for a 5pm reservation. We were seated right away. Service for ordering was quick and thorough. The valentine day special menu was explained. I ordered the Chilean whole bass and my wife got the filet mignon. The bass was outstanding. Maybe the best fish dish I’ve ever had. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and absolutely melted in your mouth. Everything was perfect. Outstanding staff.

They didn’t have a table ready for us, so they let us sit in the Sun Room, which was so awesome because it was just us so we were able to enjoy ourselves, our waiter was great

Loved it and good value

This was a perfect spot to have dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. The hostess was so sweet, kind, and considerate. We were seated right away. We were given a lovely table in the corner and it was quiet enough to catch up for over two hours. Our waitress was considerate and attentive. Food was good and we enjoyed a drink from the happy hour menu. It can be pricey here; it would be hard to do a good meal and a drink for under $40. But, the ambience, food, and attentiveness from the staff made it worth it.

Food was awesome..great service...Will be back for sure.
