   Our team chose The Boat House for a business lunch. Surroundings were excellent. Wish the table would have had more room for our party of five. The service and food were amazing. We will be back for more lunches!

   My wife took me out for my BD dinner and we both had excellent meals. Good food, good service, good view, good time. We shall return!

   I enjoyed our meal. Service was good. The restaurant was clean, the wait wasn’t too long. I have no complaints.

   There is little worse than when you go back to a restaurant with such high hopes as your virgin visit. Appetizers are killer. Shrimp is the bomb. Oysters were spot on. Stitch coming… A Gordon Ramsey wannabe, screaming out orders on a pitch that only a dog would howl in the kitchen. I it’s a chain for Pete sake. Killed the whole evening. Enough said. Two and done.

   The drinks from the bar were perfectly mixed. I had the lobster tails and my wife had the chicken sandwich, both were incredible. It was my wife’s birthday, so she got a complementary dessert and I ordered the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was absolutely perfect.

   Today was my first time going to boathouse in Hopewell and it was okay. The scenery was nice by the water. The food was okay but I feel that they can have a better menu with more added sides to choose from. This location also had many flies and it was so hard to eat. I was seated on the inside. The waitress overall was nice and checked on us several times. I may give it another try to check it out again.

    This was a birthday dinner for 4 people. Our server was 3 days on the job. She was very pleasant and did a great job considering. She handled all of our issues professionally. Jalapeno corn muffins were overcooked. The oysters were very tasty, the calamari was ok. The Brussels came out, but they were a side to one of the entrees. The roasted rockfish came with petite potatoes asparagus, and lemon dill sauce. The fish was perfect! The sides were not what was on the menu. I got parsnips instead of asparagus, our server quickly brought out the asparagus, but they were very skinny thread-like asparagus. My friend's salmon tasted great. The sides were wrong. She was to have asparagus and mashed potatoes, but she got puree peas and green peas whatever...our server kindly brought the mashed potatoes and they were cold if they had been warm she would've eaten them, but they were like cold - straight out of the refrigerator. Our server kindly brought hot mashed potatoes. I am not sure who was responsible for what got put on the plates, but the ball was dropped!! The presentation of the sides were awful! Brocollini, asparagus, petite potatoes, and roasted Brussels sprouts just looked a mess. This was our 1st time at Hopewell Boathouse. The other 2 people were satisfied with their entree. Highly disappointed 😞😞

    Hello Ethel, I am sorry for the disappointing birthday dinner. We update the menu seasonally, and this was the first week with our spring entrees featuring rockfish with new potato, grilled asparagus, and charred lemon vinaigrette. Our seasonal spring salmon presentation includes charred green onion, carrot, pea, and watercress pesto. If the menus had not been changed out or if you ordered those items 'Simply Prepared' they should come with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I apologize that did not happen for you. Thank you for the kind words for your server, and for letting us know to make sure we are repeating back orders to ensure the correct food comes out, at the correct temperature in the future.
