We try to come here as often as we can because we always have a great experience. What extra fun right now is they offer both the Urge and Barrel Room menus including all the great draft beer and Newtopia Cyder off the Urge menu. We had the Sea Bass, was phenomenal and shared an ap.
Best warm goat cheese salad with beets and salmon. All my favorite wines by the glass
They are remodeling their kitchen and using Urge kitchen next door. We ordered a pizza which was tasty. The waiter asked if we wanted a small side salad which we did order. Split the bill with my friend. Was shocked when I got home to see that we were charged $10.00 for each little salad, way to costly for a tiny side salad. The pizza was $18.00 but had 8 nice slices so that was reasonable. We did have to wait longer than usual for our order,
Went for brunch on a Sunday around 11:30am. The food was so so good. Way better quality and taste than I expected. The value was also really incredible. I paid less than $40 buck for two people (no alcohol). I really felt the quality of the food would equal a much higher price. All around great experience. I'll certainly go there again.
It was our first time eating at The Barrel Room. We enjoyed the food, drink, and service. RJ was our waiter and he was fun and knowledgeable about beers, cheeses, meats, and more! We ordered a charcuterie and it was one of the best! I will return with other friends and can't wait to eat there again.
Not the same bbl room as in the past. Found that some brewpub in Corona bought both urge and the barrel room. The quality of the food was poor not fresh made. The wine list is poorly done. They still have good wine inside and seems it's going to waste. It's simply urge kitchen food and not the real barrel room. My wife and I have been going there for many years and will not be back. Just not worth the cost of the food and service is slow.
Well the menu advertised on open table was not the menu given to us at the restaurant. Menu was extremely limited and prices were higher than advertised on open table.
We are local to the area and have been to TBR many times so we booked for our anniversary. Wow how disappointed we ended up. Menu was basically from sister restaurant next door which does mainly hamburgers. Had we known up front I would have booked a different restaurant but no where did TBR indicate limited menu and in some cases at much higher prices. Felt like we were baited and got very little value.
Waiter tried to be nice but with the situation there was little he could do. I ended up eating chicken Parmesan that was over cooked and tasteless. Wife ordered sea bass which open table menu listed as $26 but was $40 on the restaurant menu. We ended up canceling that order because of $14 upper.
Probably will never return to TBR and won’t recommend it to anyone else. Seems to me that owners feel they don’t need to make customers happy to make money……I think many restaurants feel that way because crowds are out and about after COVID
We had a very nice dinner on Father's Day. The jambalaya was excellent, and the service quite good. The restaurant has a very nice ambience that we enjoy.
Fun! Went right when everything opened in San Diego!
Father’s Day celebration
The food was great and so was the service. The big disappointment was that the website had not been updated so we were planning on meals and wine that didn’t exist. We almost left to eat elsewhere because the choices were limited.
This was our first sit down dinner outing with friends post all the Covid restrictions. The Barrel Room patio was on the tip of our list for this first outing because they have such a great beer and wine selection and an awesome, yet short, menu. I always feel that a place with less menu items tends to focus on the quality and it’s always been the case here.
Our server had a great sense of humor and seemed to always know when we needed him there, without being over-attentive. Obviously, not just a side gig - he takes pride in his job. His wine suggestion was spot on. We had 2 bottles! Looking forward to coming back soon.
All restaurants are struggling to get back on their feet. However, the Creole lamb chops were vastly over salted - little of the 'Creole' flavor came through. My wife was underwhelmed by the peppercorn sauce on her steak frites, which she felt was more like a gravy than the peppercorn sauce she has had in the past. We look forward to coming back once the kitchen and staff have stabilized.
The live music at Sunday brunch was outstanding.
The fish and chips were amazing. Coating was perfect. The glass of wine was a great pour and the house wine was very good. Can't wait to try the breakfast.
Sat out back in TBR's covered patio area. Weather was perfect with a gentle breeze. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Cheeseburger was cooked as ordered. Others enjoyed their food too. One can order from both TBR and Urge's menus.
Food was fair and overpriced. I don’t think the seabass was fresh. It seamed like it was frozen. Not flakey like fresh. Portion was small. Service was fair. Menu is not what is on the website which is the old menu when it was much better. Shares space and menu with Urge which is a pub not what I expect from the Barrel Room. I will not return
Nice evening, good food. Good presentation.
Used to really Ike this place but the food has really gone downhill. I ordered the burger and asked for it to be medium well. It came rare. Bloody and lukewarm! The bun was soaked in the burger grease! It was awful! My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich and said it was dry and tasteless. Our friend ordered the Reuben and thought that they used very little pastrami and that it was greasy. Our server was too busy to check on us after the food was delivered so we didn’t have the opportunity to send anything back. It was really disappointing and I doubt we will return!
Took my Mom there for Mothers Day for lunch. We sat on their covered patio. We were greeted with long stem roses, a very nice touch, and a complimentary glass of Sangria. The tables were nicely set and a very comfortable distance from other tables. Our server was gracious, helpful and informative. We enjoyed the French Onion soup and had to have a side of their famous Garlic Fries. All was delicious and hot. Post meal, the Manager had a Polaroid Camera and took a picture of my Mom and me. Such a nice memento.
Well done Barrel Room!
The compony was good, as well as the food. The service was poor.
We enjoyed the combined menu and extensive drink selection. The main dishes were extraordinary. Perfect for a quiet night out.
Great selections, great food and attentive servers.
Great service. I ordered 2 drinks off their list, which they didn't have. Salad and mac n cheese were great. Waiter was awesome.
Kudos to Barrel Room/Urge for bringing the best of two menus. Onion soup is superb!
Barrel Room is partnering with sister restaurant Urge, so there's the best of both. Don't know how long this will continue. Barrel Room's menu is a bit limited compared to pre-Covid days but still has some favorites. Urge's menu is on the more informal side - burgers, etc. All delicious.
Miso salmon excellent - took advantage of Happy Hour Caesar salad and good wine selection.
Great food and ample outdoor seating during these crazy Covid times .
You can't go wrong with their wine pairing dinners. A great way to try new wines and dishes. Highly recommended and I'll be signing up for the next pairing once it's announced. Great job!
We came here to celebrate my husband and our friend’s birthday. The Barrel Room has a wonderful outdoor patio and dining area with heaters. It was perfect and we weren’t cold. They took all the necessary precautions for us to feel safe. The food was absolutely delicious and so was the wine! I recommend the garlic fries and charcuterie and cheese board to start. Everyone loved their meals and dessert was excellent too!! We live about an hour away but definitely will be back!!
A great location with a lot of outdoor seating. The food is very good and a very high selection of drinks. Great service, very friendly.
Server was amazing
Food is fantastic! Highly recommend! Heated patio was comfortable for outdoor dining.
Salad and bread board were very good. Service was very good as well. Chicken Parm left a lot to be desired. Chicken was dry with small amount of sauce. Jumbo Kia was lacking to. Too soupy with not a lot of meat in it. We have been coming here for years. Food seems to have gone down hill.
As always, a great experience. The apps were delicious,
The food was good, but it has no atmosphere. Such a shame because it could be very cute. It was more like a cafeteria feel.
Great atmosphere and good food. A little pricy, but well worth it.
Great food, great service. Thank you for a great lunch!
We had a lovely evening at the Barrel Room. The staff were all very personable, friendly and helpful. The food and presentation was lovely. I have eaten there several times and I´m never disappointed. Highly recommend.
I have been to ;the Barrell Room several times and was always very happy with the food. I had a Reuban sandwich that was very dry. Barely had any sauerkraut or dressing on it. I would say there was less than a teaspoon of each on it.
I was entertaining guests that had never been there . Not a good impression
