The Angel Inn
The service was great and didn’t have to wait long from the order being taken to the food arriving to the table.
We have always had great meals here, but we were both a little disappointed. The seafood linguine was rather bland, and the duck was unattractive, and over cooked. The restaurant didn't appear to be busy for a Friday night. I did see notices for staff at the pub, so maybe this was way. It wouldn't put me off, but was a shame.
Lovely pub in delightful surroundings.Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately we ordered duck and it was quite chewy which was disappointing. However our starters and desserts were really nice.
First time back in a while. Booked quite short notice on a bank holiday Monday and had to wait a little longer than ideal as people hang around at tables. The staff dealt with this well but shuffling bookings to allow them to put two tables together for us.
Food was great. Service attentive despite it being busy.
We will be back.
The 4 of us plus a dog enjoyed our visit to the Angel. Very good service from the staff from start to finish. The food was very good and hot.
We will come again .
Second visit here the food was cold again .doubt we will return
Good varied menu well presented and very tasty. The lamb was particularly tasty I would recommend to meat eaters. Non meat options were limited but different to usual offerings.
A very pleasant meal on a Bank Holiday Monday. The Gypsy tart was a definite hit.
We are regulars here. Always friendly service and delicious food.
Saturday night birthday celebration. Party of 6.
Good food & atmosphere.
The food was lovely - however, service was slow - we seemed to have been forgotten in our corner and had to go up to ask for dessert menus, and the bill.
We had a very nice meal for our anniversary. When we arrived the main room was very busy but we were sat in the stables room which was quieter and a very pleasant setting for our meal. The food was very good and not tight with portion sizes.
Lovely hot meal as stated on menu in pleasant location.Staff attentive but not intrusive.
A warm atmosphere not matched by the restaurant which was cold. The service and food were excellent, but why oh why let dogs in by the table. I understand guide dogs but not others.
I have booked again but won’t in future if dogs are allowed in.
Disappointed with the menu as the Cauliflower Roulade was not available so ordered the Vegan burger.Presentaion was not good and the sweet potato chips were burnt tasting.Another of my party had nearly raw vegetables. The pudding was delicious though! I have been before a few times and have always enjoyed the food.
Another fabulous meal, place never disappoints! Love this place, can’t recommend it enough!
Early Mother’s Day meal with the family. Five of us in total. Food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Always have top notch meals at The Angel and this was no different.
Went to The Angel Inn for a catch up dinner with a friend. It was very quiet but there were a few people eating/drinking. It meant we weren't shouting over any 'buzz' of the restaurant though so just what we were looking for. Service was great, drinks orders were taken straight away and we were given time to look through the menu. Both of us went for something from the Specials board and the food was lovely, very well cooked and presented. Desserts were just as good, the portions were of a good size for both mains and desserts.
Had previously been here for a Sunday lunch which i would highly recommend. Will certainly be back soon.
Service very very slow. Really disappointed as not been for a while and it’s definitely gone downhill.
Just a pleasure to eat there. Food was well cooked, good quality. Well trained and helpful staff.
Lovely surroundings, lovely food, friendly staff.
disappointing food, all seemed preprepared and bought out maybe.
Starter was whitebait which looked as if bought frozen, or tart which were so uniform and tasteless so seemed bought out too. pork pie was quite good but vegetable cold
I would sum up as "that will do" so not memorable . not as good as previous visit
First time in The Angel for many years. Made very welcome great service and first class food. A great experience will go again.
Fantastic lunch , lots of choice at all courses. Great attentive staff
Some food was good, some not so good. Services was rushed and not attentive.
What a lovely warm welcoming place - we had a father and daughter servicing us and they were fantastic. So accommodating with my pregnancy, the party was all drinking cocktails and they made a real effort with the mocktails for me so i wasn't feeling left, it was so nice. Little details like that make all the difference.
Excellent lunch with good food and service on our repeat visit. Good location and drink offers and
we look forward to our next visit
Lovely place, superb food and excellent service. What more can you ask for?
We've been a few times before and always enjoyed the meal and this occasion completely lived up to expectations. A warm welcome and friendly service despite having two toddlers with eating allergies. The chef was consulted and was very helpful in finding a good choice for the children.
We had a lovely evening at the Angel inn, our table was in the old stables, which was lovely, nothing has been greatly changed even to the point the wooden walls that would have been between the horses and the hay feeders were still there, how wonderful. The service staff were great and very friendly. The food was very good.
I would recommend the Angel without a doubt.
We had a very good experience and staff were helpful in sorting out a suitable table for our slightly disabled friends. Good food, plenty of choices and very reasonably priced.
Amazing food and amazing service! Been many times and never disappointing.
Amazing food and very good and fast service on a busy Friday night. Lovely staff.
Its a nice pub/restaurant with comfortable atmosphere. Food wise fine, especially puddings which were good. Main courses weren’t special. Had chicken and chorizo pie. It was tasty, but chicken was a little dry/over cooked.
Would go again, but wouldn’t rush.
We like the Angel, it's a lovely atmosphere and food is good. Just slightly disappointed this time with my pork and leek pie as the meat was tough. Otherwise, great!
