A culinary collaboration between Tequila Comida & Cantina and Marina Grill, infusing the vibrant flavors of Mexico into the heart of Wilmington’s waterfront. Established in 2018 by Chef Ramon Villasenor and Miguel Villasenor, Tequila Comida & Cantina has teamed up with Marina Grill to create an exceptional dining experience.

Nestled beside the Riverfront Park and boasting an extraordinary view of the Riverfront Marina, Tequila’s Waterfront offers a unique setting. Our spacious outdoor area is the perfect spot to enjoy live music during the summer months. Located next door to the Riverfront Park, home to the Live Oak Pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater hosting open-air concerts and entertainment, we invite you to savor the magic of Mexican cuisine amid cultural warmth and breathtaking views.

Making an OpenTable reservation is not a real reservation. You can select “standard” table but may be seated at the bar. And your table won’t be ready when you’re there. And they won’t accommodate your request even if tables are available. They’re quite rude about it. Also, our food came an hour and 45 minutes after our reservation time - cold.

We are sorry your experience wasn't up to par. As a policy, we don't sit reservations at the bar. We do have a number of high-top tables that are used as seating options along with our low-top tables. We have the same options for our patrons on our patios. We went for dinner on a reservation for a party of 10. We were sat immediately. They took drink and dip order for queso and guacamole which were great but brought no waters and drinks for 15 minutes later. Food was outstanding but service was horrible. Food runners were rude and slung your plates down with attitude. Had to chase down waitress for refills and check. A large gratuity was preadded so I assume that is why it was a slack service. The ambience and food were good so it’s a shame the service wasn’t. I’d try one more time with a smaller party to see if it’s any better.

Very cool spot/location for sure! Beautiful views & neat building, great music. Service was slow but very friendly. Menu was not very extensive but what we had was well done. Expensive lunch, but good experience

The food was good overall, but at a high price. More value at Marina Grill and nicer. Margarita's are expensive and you will be up charged quickly if you do not know the price of each tequila. Also, why is there a disco ball moving during dinner with 80's music in a modern Mexican restaurant.

Thank you for coming in, Stephen. Tequila's Waterfront has one of the largest selections of Tequila's and Mezcal's in our region. We keep a drink menu with pricing on each table so our patrons know what they are buying and paying for. Each person gets to choose the spirit of their choosing. We have 4 options for tequilas for our house margarita alone. As for the disco ball, it was here before we opened Tequila's. We just like it. Come see us again for $5 Margarita on Mondays and $2 Tacos for Taco Tuesday!

We had a party of 8 reservation and we were greeted nicely and seated immediately. Our server was on top of everything! Great vibe and excellent location on the Cape Fear River.

Fun place for those that are seeking party atmosphere. Music really loud in our section. Working a challenge with app. Everyone was great. Food really tasty. Just not quite for us and our friends.

The location of our table was not very nice, we requested outside but were not informed there was a very loud, live performance and were placed directly next to the bar for said performance, in the hot sun when multiple tables under shade or with umbrellas were available (they were given to 2 tops that arrived after us, despite us having a reservation). But, our Server Hannah B. was absolutely phenomenal. She was so nice and so accommodating to me (i’m a very picky eater) and was over all just a great server.

Thank you for coming in and for your review. We do have live music every Friday and Saturday nights during the season. I assure you our staff was not trying to be not nice to you and your group. A lot of our patrons request to sit outside to listen. Please let us know during your visit if you'd like to move. We would be glad to accommodate you if at all possible. I am not sure if the other available tables at your arrival time were already reserved or not. We are very happy you were taken care of properly. Please come by and see us again on the waterfront!
