Tamarind Kitchen calificaciones y reseñas
Good atmosphere, friendly, efficient service and really delicious food. All this made for a lovely evening. The biggest problem was what to choose from the menu as it all looked so good! The soft shell crab starter and the lamb biryani, were particularly tasty. The bill was a pleasant surprise too - excellent value for such good food. We will most definitely be going back for more.
Started out delicious and got better from there. I expected the potato cakes to be good, but these were a culinary experience. Beautiful prawns - huge prawns in a spicy sauce - went well with delicate chicken Korma. Maybe the best pistachio ice cream ever! Lots of diners made this a lively evening. I highly recommend
Great friendly service and outstanding food ensure that we will return. Helpful guidance during order process but above all friendly and very tasty food that can be adjusted for all palates. Recommend that Kodai Prawns and Lamb kebabs in particular.
It's very nice and the ambience is dark and cosy. The food was very tasty but not especially spicy which, for a London crowd, is surprising. My main fault was that, as pleasant as the waiter was, he would keep suggesting small things to complement the food which appeared to be an offering from the restaurant. With the steep prices for the dishes, I have seen this before elsewhere. However, when the bill came, each and every one was included in the bill which was a bit disappointing as we wouldn't have ordered them had that been made clear. It just added to what was already a pretty expensive lunch and that didn't even include alcohol. Good food and will probably go back but not in a rush.
When I booked the table I was advised that we only had it for 2 hours so we were warned. I would have cancelled at that point because I hate restaurants that limit your time at the table but we had already arranged to meet friends here and it was their recommendation (they visited at 5pm pre theatre and were not rushed) . The food was good but from the moment we entered the restaurant we were harried. The waiter took our drink order and even before we had had our drinks served he was waiting to take the food order. The starters were excellent as was the main course but it came out very quickly after the starters were cleared. Having raced through those course we wanted time before we had our desserts but the waiter was back twice to take or order so we felt we had to place it. As soon as the desserts were cleared the bill was placed on the table without even asking for it and the waiter started clearing our empty glasses away. Some of the party went to the toilet and on coming back to the table they were advised that we had to vacate the table now. At £65 a head for 3 courses, one pre dinner drink each and one bottle of wine I have had much better value for money elsewhere and a much more relaxing experience. We won't return.
Excellant food as ever. Staff service was impeccable, and they took time to recommend, explain the dishes in the most vivid fashion. Whether it is casual dining or a special occasion, the staff were faultless in ensuring their customers, have the best dining experience in as comfortable surrounding as possible.
the greatest disappointment in our life - regarding Indian Food in London.
We come to London 3 times per year since 2011 and we love Indian Food!!!
The predecessor IMLI has been very good (in it's category), but TAMARIND KITCHEN was terrible.
Incompetent staff + impolite Manager. He offered to refund the Money for the dinner, but he didn't!!!
AND WE KNOW ABOUT 10 INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN LONDON,
FROM "BRICK LANE" UP TO MICHELIN-STARRED RESTAURANTS!!!!!
Fun ambience and decor however we waited nearly 40 minutes for our mains with just a "sorry" but really you should take a bottle of wine of the bill if you know that service hasn't been up to scratch.
Entrees were tasty but the food on the set menu was a bit average, truffle naan quite odd with curry, think I'd stick to the traditional one in future but they served the truffle version with the set menu.
booked the restaraunt as an alternative, due to a cancelled flight, we arrived late in the city causing us to miss our original reservation. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. The only negative aspect is that the music was very loud, causing the table next to us to talk even louder and made a conversation at times almost impossible.
What a great find. Our first time at the Tamarind Kitchen and we were very impressed. Service was excellent, warm and friendly. The menu is a slight modern twist on traditional Indian dishes and all the better for it. The wine was also really good, a nicely chilled French rose.
This is a step up from most Indian restaurants in soho but was still good value.
