An amazing find! A total surprise to find wonderful food and service in a hotel. Taft Diaz is in the Stanton House Hotel. The food has amazing flair! It blew us away. And from the hostess to the servers and the doorman, the “touches” were personal with some old school charm and very refreshing. Great for any occasion
Great place with great food. So happy to see such fun and delicious menu. The cocktails were amazing as well. We will be back for sure.
Food was exceptional with highlights being the standout Grilled Clam Tostada and Roasted Bok Choy - truly exceptional. Cristina is a very skilled server and service overall was flawless. Minor tweak was that silverware was individually brought for each course and only available in a very low to the ground cabinet that wait staff continually had to bend over and spend time sorting through. Looked very uncomfortable, maybe it could be moved to waist level? A fantastic and very memorable Valentines Day!
Hello Jeremy, We are so glad to read your kind review, we always aim for pleasing our guests and exceeding expectations, thank so much on your comment on the silverware will take note on that immediately, hope you visit Taft Diaz again soon.
Service was amazing, felt catered to every minute. Food was just as exquisite!

Great Valentines Day experience. Reservations were easy and the restaurant was awesome; table was ready, no waiting. Service was 5-star; staff attentive, management on the floor and available. Wine selection was good and the server very attentive to our every need. Our wait staff was on-top of everything; explanations with each course of the tasting. A lot of places cant handle the "big nights" but the Taft-Diaz isn't one of them. We enjoyed a wonderful evening.

Best Steak in El Paso! And the tacos are wonderful (Sea Donkey)!!!
Hello Aaron, We are so glad to read your kind review, we always aim for pleasing our guests and exceeding expectations our Ribeye has a very unique aging process and it really shows off, hope you visit Taft Diaz again soon.
Drinks and dinner were great. Not an extensive menu but what they do serve is perfect. Meatball appetizer and braised beef tacos are definite must try’s!

Best place to eat in El Paso!
Excellent customer service, the food was great. If I have to complain about something I would say that the dessert was ok in comparison to the entree and the main plate.
This was our second visit to this restaurant. Staff were attentive to our needs without being overbearing. Food quality was very good. Would definitely return
Thank you so much! We appreciate you dining with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!
My family and I enjoyed NYE dinner at Taft-Diaz. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I’ve already recommended it to my friends and family! We will defiantly go back!
We went to celebrate my sons birthday everything was going well until we found a hair deeply fried in a fish dish. Pretty much grossed us out.
This is by far the best restaurant in El Paso. Impeccable service and phenomenal food. This restaurant is a must visit.
A wonderful, wonderful experience, total package, we will most definitely return.
Came here to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time, food and drinks were fantastic. We’ll be back 😀
Excelent food was great
We were early and the only people in the restaurant at 5:30 on a Friday. We had a bottle of sparkling wine, which was chilled for us. I had the burrata and beet appetizer while my companion had aguachile. Both were amazing. For entees, we had the branzino and cauliflower mole. They were superb. We wanted dessert but were way too stuffed. Surprisingly large portions and all fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Great food!! Relaxing ambiance, good service! I would definitely go back!!
Excellent from start to finish, bone marrow was amazing, as was the halibut and ribeye, excellent and surprising set of wines from Baja California. Staff is wonderful, very accommodating. And the rooms at Stanton house are beautiful. Highly recommend!
This was our second visit to Taft Diaz and we will be back soon. The food was absolutely delicious, the service amazing and the ambiance so unique to El Paso.
We had the two fish dishes and they were as good as any we’ve ever had, and I’ve lived most of my life in coastal California and Florida. The service and dessert were excellent as well. It’s not inexpensive, but it was well worth the visit, and we’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend.
My wife and I planned a trip to El Paso around the food scene. Taft Diaz was a complete surprise. The menu, meal and service were outstanding.
Best high end dinner in EP! Can’t wait to go back and try what we couldn’t order from their amazing menu.
Such inventiveness by the chefs. Good use of charring. Sit by kitchen so you can watch. Aguachiles are fantastic. Don't forget to look up at the fun light fixture
Taft Diaz is the best restaurant in El Paso, Texas. Food was amazing and the service was out of this world. They are on top of every single detail to make a night special.
Excellent as always.
We had an amazing meal at Taft Diaz. Our first visit and we were very impressed . The food was excellent and we really enjoyed the art installation in the dining room. We will definitely be back.
Great food in a great setting, and it won't break your budget.
We ordered the special $90 dinner for two. Every course was not of the qualitu we expected. The burned avocado was inedible, as was the pork dish so full of fat. The dessert was unknown and not edible either. What a surprise this beautiful place cannot cook and serve a quality meal! We will not return
Absolutely amazing we had the chefs tasting menu. The Chef was amazing and staff was amazing. Definitely a must try
The food was good however the restaurant lighting and ambiance was bad. It felt really cold like a prison. The flowers above us was the highlight of our evening.
The portions are small but really high quality food
The restaurant service staff was cordial and attentive at first. Once we decided to eat light (appetizers, soup, wine by the glass), we found it hard get the staffs attention. We felt left hanging, waiting in our booth. Took awhile to get our bill.
The music seemed "too hipster" contemporary, loud and annoying. For a restaurant with a name like Taft/Diaz, management could have selected more Mexican/Latin musical influences. There are many hip Mexican/Latin artists with sophisticated styles to choose from, that would have carried the theme of this restaurant's name more appropriately.
The food also lacked the true fusion of cross border styles. We had a late lunch that day, so didn't order a main course. Instead selected the Creamy Tomato Bisque soup, (it was OK), yet seemed common and not very interesting. What would have been far more interesting is a soup choice that had a flair. For example, "Sopa de Aguacate with a tomato cilantro cream topping and Habanero chips" (I just made this up). Something more engaging from a culinary point of view. Especially, for the hype of this El Paso, Texas restaurant inside the Stanton House Hotel.
For a new El Paso "hot spot", it has missed the subtle, elegant partnership implied in it's name, (American- Taft and Mexican-Diaz), in both decor, which is all white, very cold/contemporary, with expensive mechanical floating lamps that go up and down into the ceiling, and the menu choices. Taft Diaz didn't deliver the fusion food or cross border partnership concept for us, (even if you don't order a multiple course meal). It's expensive, which I don't mind if you experience a memorable culinary meal set in an engaging context. It was disappointing.
Still waiting for Guillermo to call us back
Tab was 257 then came back over 400
Horrible experience!!! We went for Valentines Day and waited 35 minutes before we even got our first glass of wine. They sat us in a make shift table that was in the hallway of the hotel. Food was not good either. Just makes me sick that they charge as much as they do and provide horrible food and service. Will never recommend this place to anyone.
My boyfriend and i came here for a valentines dinner only to expect the worst. Our reservation was at 7:45pm only to be seated at 8pm. We didn’t get offered wine only water which was strange and very rude. We waited a while for the course to be given to us, and we were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours to finish!!! We were furious because a table sitting next to us got sat and were given their course of meal in a matter of 30 minutes and left before us. I think our server just had too many tables and wasn’t keeping up. For almost spending $300 that night was not worth it. We will not be returning.
Food was good and ambiance was brilliant but overpriced for the service and food quality. Waiter messed up several times and we were kept waiting excessively long. Valentine’s Day menu was good but definitely overpriced compared to other high end restaurants in El Paso. Was also never informed that the regular menu would not be available that night as the reservation gave the option of regular menu or the special menu when booking.
We waited for our food courses for over 4 hours . I sat in the most uncomfortable chair you could imagine for 4 and a half hours. Food was okay.
