Small, comfortable, charming and delicious. Staff is efficient and wants to please.
Great food & service. Cozy, charming
Brussels sprout appetizer was delicious. Mushroom pasta entree and the scallop pasta dish wonderful. Dessert was disappointing. Would go back again but skip dessert.
We used to love the Statesman but it seems to have lost its charm. I knew something was wrong when I was able to get a reservation at the last minute on the night of the fireworks. Service was slow. Food was ok- not bad, just ok. Drinks are still good. It’s not a “destination” anymore.
We spent the weekend in Bristol and had brunch at the Statesman before heading out on Sunday morning. Fresh food, unique selections, very friendly and attentive staff. Would definitely recommend!
Went for brunch and all four meals (eggs Benedict, mushroom Benny, smoked brisket hash, lemon blueberry French toast) were delicious! We enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and overall service! Would love to go back for dinner!
Statesman’s tavern never disappoints. Amazing service and amazing meal.
always a great experience - thanks - Don't forget to get a fancy cocktail, too...they are great
The Brussel sprou
service was outstanding. knowledge by wait staff and bartender and being adaptable to cocktail requests was a breath of fresh air - felt like it was an individual experience for our group. 3 of us had Fisherman's Stew and it was excellent. Apps were tasty. We didn't feel rushed. Great vibe. Will be back for a family style special night.
Great place for brunch. Delicious, creative and interesting menu choices. Bottomless mimosas make the brunch complete!
Food was not good for the money. Service was fair. But will not go back
Everything was perfect. The waitstaff and chef are always accommodating and willing to please the patrons. Great menu, drinks and specials.
From when we sat down it took 25 min to get my first drink. after we finished that the waiter didn’t come back for 20+ min we had to go to the bar to order our second. The place is small enough he could see our drinks were empty he had an attitude for no reason.
We are always recommending Statesman Tavern to our friends and family. It is by far our favorite restaurant in the state and continues to impress us with delicious food and incredible service every visit.
Love everything about this place! The waitstaff...bartenders...cooks!! I just keep coming back! :)
Excellent service...excellent food! We will be back. :)
Fantastic New Years Menu 3 course great variety Menu, Special Drinks Service was exemplary
Excellent as always
We always have a great meal and great service
First time there...loved it!
Lovely spot! Came by after doing a holiday stroll, had some tacos and two special tiki cocktails. Everything was delicious. Will return
We went the night of the Bristol tree lighting, we had a reservation at 6pm and got seated right away! The food was great! (as always) The drinks are also amazing, especially if you like to try something different. The only set back was that the service was slow, it seemed like they were understaffed. There was one bar tender and you could tell she was struggling a bit trying to get the drinks out. This is a small place so it's understandable as to why there maybe wasn't 2 bartenders, but I feel like it would have helped tremendously.
I really enjoyed my dining experience at the Statesman Tavern. Having made a reservation online, we were seated right away. The restaurant is very cozy and very nicely decorated. It's casual yet also nice enough for a date night.
We were seated close to the front door and caught the cold air when it was opened. This did not detract from our overall experience however.
The appetizers were good - we enjoyed the tacos more than the hummus. The burger that we had was delicious.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall, the dining experience was great and I would recommend the Statesman Tavern to anyone looking to try something new!
Service was really bad
Sorry, just not very good. Ridiculous chowder bowl with an inch of very bacony chowder, very dry short rib tacos, horrible anise (?) dressing on squash salad-choice of summer squash vs Autumnal acorn or butternut? seafood stew was seafood with tomato sauce-delicate seafood flavor completely lost. Only upside was the mushrooms in the mushroom fettuccini, nicely seasoned and flavorful. Pre cooked pasta was more than al dente but over cooked exterior so really noticed difference between interior and exterior. atmosphere is intimate and inviting. Perhaps we made wrong selections. We were a disappointed group of 4 foodies.
Overpriced storefront restaurant on State St in Bristol. Mediocre brunch food in small portions. Spend your money elsewhere.
RWU parents weekend dinner = yum!
This is our new favorite restaurant in Bristol. Everything is spectacular, but the clam chowder is unlike any chowder you’ve ever had. It’ll be a shoo-in winner in 2019 for the Chowder cook offs in the East Bay.
Food was amazing. Had a reservation for 6:30, reservations was over a week in advance, still had to wait close to 40 minutes for our table. Wait staff at times seemed overwhelmed.
Be prepared, this place is tiny so reservations STRONGLY recommended. The menu is pretty small, but that just means what they do, they do well. The food was excellent. The noise level depends on how exuberant your fellow diners are. Service is good, if a little bit slow, but the place was full so I understood. I'd eat here again.
This was an unexpected, but incredibly delicious spot for brunch. The assortment basket of breads and jams was amazing. I ordered the sausage and egg sandwich with a hollandaise sauce, which was so massive and dripping with goodness. Had a bite of the chicken and waffles plate, which is surprisingly hard to find a good version of anywhere in the area, and was blown away.
The food was fantastic. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who made us feel very welcome and our server Brian was very friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back!
The food was delicious but the service was very slow and erratic.
As always, everything was excellent! Food, drinks and service
We went today for brunch for my dads birthday. We waited 30 minutes for coffee!!!! We ordered the pastry basket only
to find no cinnamon bun in it. No big deal... my dads favorite but the other items were delicious. Our waitress hardly made eye contact, never smiled and it took one hour and 20 min for our egg based meals!!!! Service is a one out of ten. Food was really good. It’s a very small restaurant so it should be very easy to service!
Even though the restaurant was not full, we waited 15 minutes for someone to take a drink order and then another hour after that to get our food. The table of four next to us received a round of bread right away. As a table of 7, we eventually received the same round of bread, and then as we waited the hour plus with two small children and asked for more bread, we received an extra charge for it. We had also indicated this was a birthday celebration, which was never even acknowledged. The food was good, but not someplace we’ll go back to. It was not worth the hassle.
Second time at the restaurant and the food was delicious. Our server honestly was clueless. The restaurant appears to have one server who seems to know what she is doing, unfortunately I had the other server.
I googled restaurants in the Bristol/Warren area and Statesman Tavern came up, had good reviews and the pictures of the place and the food were nice. The actual place is very small and we were seated at a tall table which I had cancelled a reservation somewhere else because I found out we’d be seated at a tall table. When I reserved it on open table, this wasn’t specified. The food was ok/good but nothing that would make me want to go back again.
Room and table were ok. Seafood was disappointing. It was ok, but should have been a lot better. Service was adequate; nothing special.
