My experience at Sophie’s rooftop Bar was overall a positive and enjoyable experience, I can’t really think of many things to say that were negative in any way. We started off with drinks… €7.60 for a pint of Guinness btw, and the head up stairs to the restaurant. We were brought to our table immediately and given a menu, I ordered the chorizo and prawn linguine and a Sol beer. By the time I ordered and went to the bathroom my food had arrived on the table hot and looking delicious. I can’t lie this was genuinely some of the best pasta I’ve had in general so I can’t flaunt it what’s so ever… it was slightly on the pricey end but the portion and overall taste made up for it. I ended off with the brownie and peanut ice cream and this is the only reason I’m not giving my goal experience a 5 stars because this just wasn’t food in my opinion. To start the brownie being the “Star” of the show was like chewing the fatty ends of a steak! Just non stop chew .. chew … chew and the actual taste of the brownie was only ok, the ice cream wasn’t any special either just fine. I’m a big believer of a chewy brownie but this was genuinely just not good and I’d literally eat anything out in front of me but this is on of those things that I’d throw out the window. OVERALL my experience with the staff was great, the service was super fast and generally I had a great and positive experience, but just don’t get the brownie with peanut ice cream please for the love of god you’ll break you’re jaw with the amount of chewing. My partner got the Eton mess and that was beautiful from the bit I had so I’ll definitely be finding different dessert avenues next time. 4/5 stars

Lovely place, parking on a quiet evening at the train station is good. The food was only ok however, certainly edible, but not amazing. The menu was a bit limited.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sophie’s Rooftop in The Dean, Cork, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was truly excellent, with the pizza standing out as one of the best I’ve had in a long time—perfectly cooked with a delicious crust and fresh toppings. The cocktails were just as impressive, crafted with care and bursting with flavor. The staff were incredibly attentive, polite, and added to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Their attention to detail and friendliness made the experience even more enjoyable. Combine that with the stunning rooftop views, and it’s easy to see why this spot is such a popular destination. Whether you’re after a relaxing drink with friends or a delicious meal, Sophie’s is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

The food is amazing, the vibes are amazing, but what truly sends this experience over the top is the amazing wonderful and attentive staff.

I like the Dean Hotel but last evenings dinner was disappointing.....my pepperoni pizza was so hot it took my breath away and the pepperoni was dried out. We ordered fries and had to find a server to remind them and then waited again. I ordered tea and it never came. I was happy with the birthday candle on the desert which was nice it had been noted. The servers were very nice. Value was poor, too expensive, A nice atmosphere as usual but not sure I'll return.
