Welcome to Smoking Lobster Cowes, an Asian-Fusion restaurant overlooking Cowes Marina. Voted best Isle of Wight restaurant two years in a row.

Family owned by the Giancovich's, with recipes influenced by their extensive travels around Asia, and by their childhood of growing up hunting, gathering, and spear-fishing for seafood.

Our popular menu showcases Japanese and Asian dishes,
using contemporary cooking skills and presentation.
Sushi, sashimi & Japanese BBQ are the highlights.
Our local fisherman, Justin, catches our lobsters & line caught sea bass fresh for our use, so our dishes include the freshest possible ingredients from your local shores.

The bar menu reflects the elegant dishes from the kitchen, with precise, bespoke cocktails such as the Lychee and Cucumber Martini, all prepared using freshly pressed juices.

We offer formal dining areas, private dining areas and casual dining areas. If you fancy just a drink, let us know.

We frequently use this excellent restaurant. Food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Really excellent quality food well executed - lovely menu and great cocktails. Service was friendly and efficient . Only really down a bit for ambience because it was so quiet but it is out of season so probably to be expected . Definitely recommend .

Fantastic food,superb service,quite expensive for what you get, portion size lets it down especially the sushi and side dishes (small bowl of noodles and peanuts £6) expect to buy several different items which pushes the price up don't get me wrong the food is amazing but it's not somewhere you could eat regularly.

We had a fantastic experience on Saturday night. The overall service, including great recommendations was perfect and the food was just brilliant as ever. It’s so nice to see the chefs create unique and unusual combinations you don’t get elsewhere.

I really ejouyed my delayed Birthday meal with friends. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Perfectly cooked monkfish and crunchy Asian slaw. My dessert was the tastiest sticky (caramelised milk and pecan) sponge with a lovely flavour ice cream. I forget what it was called. It was quiet and the lighting is subdued. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant decor was modern with a hint of nautical so immediately we appreciated the thought put into the overall dining experience. The waitstaff were polite, attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a variety of small plates including the nigiri (the salmon was outstanding), tuna tataki, Australian sliced steak, and miso cod. The special sea bream with Asian slaw and new potatoes was also excellent. To our surprise, a new favorite cocktail is now the lychee and cucumber martini.
