   We had the best experience and this dinner made our entire trip. Might be the best meal we have ever had and they went out of their way to make our friend’s celebration special. Thank you so much we will be back!

   Place is a wonderful addition to the Tahoe basin. Definitely the best fine dining in all of Lake Tahoe currently. Highly recommend!

   We had the a la carte experience and the Smoke Door and it was delicious! Each course was elegantly crafted and beautiful as well as delicious! The ingredients were fresh and bright. The cocktail menu was creative and the wine list was solid. Definitely worth a visit.

   Always enjoy coming here, top-notch food, service, and overall experience. Tahoe is typically a food desert, this is the one oasis.

   We did the 10 course tasting with wine/sake pairings at Smoke Door. The food was pretty good, some courses much better than others, although both the pork belly and wagyu were extremely fatty cuts, (I understand that wagyu and pork belly are both always extremely fatty, but it is typically cooked to melt it down a bit more and I've had much better that I could chew through). The service was outstanding, a bright spot for sure! The ambiance was nice. My qualm, is that the sake and wine pairings were just not good, and this is something I know a bit about. Typically, a wine pairing will make both the food and wine shine brighter, but the pairings were just wrong and didn't even seem to go with the course on a few occasions. The drinks were good, just not well paired. Our check for two people was nearly $900, which is why I am unimpressed... although the food was pretty good, for that price tag I would expect every course and also the pairings to be really great. If we go again, I won't be ordering a tasting menu.

   This place was fantastic! The service was stellar and totally on point. The pairings were thoughtful. The waygu was transcendant. The veggie rice dich was fantastic, though I personally enjoyed stage 1 and 2 of that dish a bit more than stage 3. The booth chairs were a bit uncomfortable. I'd definitely recommend a visit here!
