Delicious and a great buzzy atmosphere
An outdoor table was the only option available I believe it would have been a much better experience if it was inside the restaurant
The wait staff were wonderful
Especially our waiter
a little too noisy for us, the music and tempo made it difficult to hear conversations and speak to others
This is our fourth visit to Shobosho now and this time we took friends. I have also bought a gift voucher for other friends. I love the creativity and flavour of the food and the knowledge and friendly professionalism of the staff. Well done.
Yummy food and good service every time
I found it overpriced for an informal restaurant.
Fantastic for start to finish. Did the 5 course fabulous. Loved sitting at the bar watching the chefs cook.
We sat at the bar tops, I liked it bur my partner thought the kitchen noise was to loud.
Bar tender was our server and was really good at helping up pick what drinks and food to get.
We where going to get the 75pp 4 course but decided to pick our own and it worked out to be the same price really.
I think it's great price for everything we had with 1 beer, cocktail and sake each and like 10 dishes for 250 with a tip that we added on.
Definitely recommend going.
But would book as it humming busy.. lol
Incredible experience from start to finish. The food was unreal.
Far too noisy, could not talk without shouting, not good when waiters need to yell to inform you of options.
The food was fantastic.
Staff very receptive to difficult dietary requirements and took care to follow through / follow up. I really appreciated that.
The downside: music was too loud. I'm aware how that sounds and I sort of hate having to say it. I know it's a style of dining, etc.
We went for a Friday work lunch. My main hesitation about returning, particularly for that kind of dining, will be the sound level. It might be different if I was proposing a raucous dinner with 3 besties. But conversation with my work companions was just too hard work for the experience too be as enjoyable as it should have been.
We had $75 dollar feed me menu. All the food was delicious and high quality. I would recommend asking for a slightly longer gap between courses as ours came very quickly and at times had 3 different dishes in table at once without time to enjoy. Once we asked to slow down it was fine.
Corkage is expensive
Great food as always and attentive staff.
Very loud music but it was turned down a bit when asked.
Tasty food. Overly efficient service. Overpriced. Nice atmosphere. It isn't a dining experience - it is a pricey but vert tasty fast food meal.
Delicious food, good wine menu and great options to share!
Loved the food, experience and the vibe as always , friendly staff always feel comfortable and relaxed making a great dining experience for our anniversary or any other occasion
Food was amazing as always and always so blown away, incredible restaurant!!
We had the 4 course meal (2 people). The food was lovely and everything was tasty, but still seemed quite over priced for $75 per head.
We went on a Monday evening and it was very busy, it wasn’t particularly slow in service considering how few staff there was.
We were disappointed Ramen was not on the dinner menu, only lunch as that was something we were both looking forward to eating.
Food was exceptional, every plate was scraped clean. Needed to order more of it!
Love the food and great service
Favourite restaurant in Adelaide
The young lady who served us was excellent but that is where it ended. The food choice was limited and the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. The prawns, though appearing cooked on the outside, were raw in the middle, which made us uncomfortable to eat them. The beans were covered in a large dollop of spicy sauce. The dumplings were below average to say the least. The saving grace was the King George whiting that was nicely cooked and with a colourful tasty mayo.
The noise level of the background music "Thump, Thump, Thump" was way beyond common sense and I would suggest the staff should wear ear protection or they will end up with problems later in life. Is this designed to deflect from the quality of the food provided?
The wine choice was rather limited but we did find one to suit us. It was served at the right temperature.
Our son and daughter in law had gifted us a $200 voucher for this restaurant, supposedly Japanese. We didn't spend it all. We had expected to pay some amount extra (prior to going to the restaurant.)
I don't like to give negative reviews but, in all honesty, this was a massive let-down that I would not regard as a Japanese restaurant, other than a version of the Italian Fasta Pasta.
My experience with Shobosho was extraordinary! I organised the dinner for my birthday and I had such a wonderful time. I cannot fault the food, the service was seamless - the lovely waitress who brought us our last round of drinks was bubbly and delightful. And to top it off, they organised a sparkler on my dessert to really make me feel special on my birthday. Loved it!
Great food, so delicious! Great sercice with waiter helping us out in picking the right soju drink to go with our meal.
100% recommend. Exceptional food, great wine, beautiful interior.
Great food! Recommended a number of times by people and didn’t disappoint :)
Food was outstanding. Literally wanted to lick the sauce off the plate off the plate of the pork dumplings. Service was impeccable when we arrived but fell flat the end. Overall though a sensational dining experience.
Gear as always. Such good value for money. One of my favourites
A brilliant restaurant, a bit out of my typical price range. But certainly memorable and fun. A great way to celebrate our anniversary <3
What a find! Warm and friendly but v efficient service. Food was devine, wine too. Atmosphere cosy and warm ... and a little exotic. I was dining on my own (in Adelaide for work) but will come again with friends when I’m next in here! Must book ahead or be disappointed!
As a solo diner it was brilliant that quite a few dishes offer a half serve. Allowed me to try quite a few. Delicious!
Fantastic experience. Food was amazing and service was great.
Loved the food and service second to none would definitely go back
Food was delicious though perhaps not authentic but that’s not a detractor but rather sharing insight for expectation. Service was pleasant and attentive. The place was perhaps a bit noisy for my 6 year old who needed some time out but nothing I’d say is too much for an adult. Great buzz and ambience. Slightly disappointed they didn’t do yakitori during weekday but understandable. Price is perhaps on the steeper side coming in at $350 for 3 adults with minimal alcohol (3 beers) but I’d happily spend that money again.
Fantastic vegan multi-course and friendly staff, we had a very pleasant evening. Thank you!
Deliciously innovative and great menu and ambiance, highly recommend
Could not fault this restaurant, outstanding service and food.
I was a single diner travelling for work, and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner on my last night in Adelaide. Staff very accommodating and suggested half portions which they offer single diners.
Looking forward to returning back again!
Ridiculously tasty food, great choices, though slightly patchy service (some fab, some not so).
Absolutely fabulous meal! We had the Feed me menu and added in the Katsu sandwich, which was the perfect amount.
Great service and recommendations on sake and wine.
Will be back for sure!
Delicious, modern Japanese cuisine!! Very tasty and well presented! Very cool and funky atmosphere with great music! Loves this place!
Amazing as ever! Oliver provided the most impeccable service and the food was spectacular
