Defiantly more of a fusion but very smartly done! With all Japanese’s favours but with alittle western twist!
We tried 4 course menu at Shobosho. The food was good, but none of the dishes were stand out for us. Overall, in my opinion quite an overrated and overpriced place.
Great lunch for six of us with the 4 course tasting.
Always a pleasure at Shobosho. Had the "Feed Me" menu, which is good for a group. Sashimi was delicious, and the pot sticker dumplings were a standout as usual. Would love to know how they make the sauce!
Food was fantastic. Especially loved the carpaccio, udon and steak. Nice choice of drinks too!
Amazing food. Not eaten Japanese food like Shobosho before. Will definitely be back.
Disappointing overall. Good very average for the high price. Customer service was also poor. Will not be returning.
It is now my new favorited - amazing food and incredible service.
Group of 6, first time dining at Shobosho. We enjoyed the $75/head 4 course banquet. Dishes were delicious and the atmosphere welcoming. Service was also excellent.
Amazing service, was explained how to order for two people and the food was so delicious, was worried it wouldn’t fill us but by the 3rd plate we were very satisfied
as always - delicious food! Was very happy that the miso butter crab udon dish was back on the menu
We’ve been many times, and it is always a consistently wonderful experience.
Food was not on par with prices charged. Been wanting to try this place for a long time and was disappointed.
Food and service were both excellent. Overall Shobosho was very good.
Amazing as always!
Snake beans were a favourite!!! Really incredible food and the vibe was fantastic! Loved watching the kitchen team smash a great service and staff were very friendly
Shoboshu is our family’s favourite adelaide restaurant! Unique, tasty Japanese cuisine. Service excellent and atmosphere perfect. Thanks Shoboshu!!
Interesting fusion of traditional Japanese flavours and a really modern ambience. Our waiter was amazing and attentive
It is a real Japanese restaurant.
We enjoyed all meals, we ordered.
The waiter was very polite. The list of the menu wasn`t big, but probably because it was lunchtime. I would recommend coming after 6 pm.
Amazing ambiance, great service, really friendly staff, incredible food, overall such a good time. We got a booth and it felt so private yet we weren’t at all cut off from the energy of the restaurant. The staff helped us with our food choices and it was all spectacular. I’ve already recommended to half a dozen people and it’s only been a couple of days since my visit. So much fun - will 100% be going back.
Had another excellent experience at Shobosho. Started with the Raw Tuna, Edamame, Bonito Cream dish which is my favourite and so hapy they've still got this dish since opening. The Prawn, Scallop & Ginger Wonton were delicious andxwe could've had seconds! The Grilled Snale Beans and Spit Roadyed Teriyaki Chicken finished off an excellent meal. For dessert we had the Coconut Sorbet and it was a perfect way to finish off the whole meal.
Great service and atmosphere. Always a fantastic experience!
The lunch Ramen was delightful - service excellent!
Delicious food, lovely ambience, friendly and professional staff!
Food was delicious - we ordered one of everything on the appetiser/entree menu! The scallops were a stand out for us, we’ll definitely be back!
Great service and waiter recommended things, food was fantastic.
We had a great night. Lovely food, great atmosphere, friendly staff
Shōbōsho is without a doubt my favourite Resturant, the atmosphere is perfectly balanced with the soft wood tones playing of the open fire cooking creating a sense of awe and wonder as you watch the chefs cook what is bound to be some of the best food you have Eaten in your life
Very good higher end Japanese food. extremely good service but be sure to tell the waiting staff if you want all of your mains at once
Have been here twice before and loved it. Unfortunately this time was not good. I’m vegan partner isn’t. We were offered vegan and non vegan options. We were excited. We knew the dishes were small so we ordered a large range and the waiter told us, not unkindly, that we ordered too much food, enough for four people. Was so embarrassed and removed some items but felt really sad at being judged like that as someone who has been there before. We had waited for weeks for this experience for my birthday and to be told we ordered too much was humiliating. I removed two of my options and partner removed one of his as seemed expected. Then dishes began to come out. They sent out one vegan dish (Chips to share) and then three of my partners meat options in succession. They said more would come when he finished the first course. I didn’t get my first dish for 35min and I sat there watching him eat. It was really depressing. I kept ordering drinks while waiting. My dumplings finally came and they weren’t good which is a stark comparison to every other dish I’ve had there. My partner loved his dishes but felt guilty that I didn’t get anything for a while, especially on my bday. I wanted to send the dumplings back but I was so hungry by this point I didn’t have the heart. I was fighting back tears after sitting in a beautiful place expecting beautiful food and just feeling hungry, neglected and sad. My next dish came out and it was wonderful thankfully. Then the last share dish came out, a small piece of shallot bread each. It was delicious but by then we had been there for over an hour and I didn’t feel like asking for another dish. It cost $170 for dinner and drinks and I felt disgusted that so much was spent on an experience that left me shattered.
I felt too embarrassed to say anything at the time as did my partner but it was a really upsetting experience and I didn’t feel I would be acknowledged if I said something, also didn’t want to make a fuss at such a nice place.
Delicious food - pot stickers melt in your mouth and overall a great experience! I'll be back for the ramen
Gorgeous food and great service! One of the best restaurants in Adelaide.
Great dining experience at Shobosho! Food was delicious with a lovely drinks selection to match the cuisine, service was also divine and a the space had great ambience!
Thoughtful and friendly service - bringing two bowls to share ramen, for example. Less crowded at lunchtime on a Saturday if you want a quieter experience and faster service. Food is tasty and order received speedily. Price is quite high but you get worthy quality ingredients for it. I recommend Shobosho to anyone looking for delicious food and top service.
Favourite restaurant in Adelaide! Constantly rebooking and coming back, highly recommend to everyone. Delicious food, perfect menu size and range and a great ambience (Busy but not too loud).
It was tremendous, easily the best food I’ve ever had in Adelaide, well prepared and expertly cooked. Just outstanding!
Spent my birthday there and had a wonderful time. From the moment we walked through the door until we left we felt welcome and well looked after. Food was outstanding, service was great.
My husband and I took our 2 daughters for miss 19s birthday. We sat in a booth, which was a little cramped and every time someone moved in the booths next to you, you felt it. The seared salmon starter and wonton starter were excellent. The udon noodles with crab were too soft and slimy for me. The spring onion bread was nice, the salad nice and the chicken nicely cooked but a bit bland. Dessert was excellent. It was very expensive for what you received. Our waitress was lovely but other staff were not as engaging. I’m not sure I’ll go back.
Absolutely, hands down, the best food we have ever eaten! Service was incredible and every dish was flawless. Will be back!
We did the "feed me" option and every dish was stunning. Love everything about this restaurant.
