This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. Excellent food, really well presented with flair and imagination. Highly recommended.
Was a great spot, great ambience and service. Food was good, but think the feed menu could’ve been given things that compliment each other. Definitely love to go back and choose from menu next.
Excellent food and service. Relaxed dining. Enjoyed being in the heart of the experience - seated at the bar opposite the Head Chef.
Great food, great display. Chef was fully in control, made it look easy and it is NOT! Well done!
Fantastic food and they were even able to accommodate a garlic allergy and still deliver the Feed Us menu. We'll be back!
Don’t mind spending nearly $300 for 2 People for a nice dinner but felt really cramped on the bar bench. Food was great but if I’m to spend good money on a dinner for 2 I would like to be comfortable . Felt a little disappointed as I was really looking forward to the experience. Very little space for plates and glasses . Felt like I was eating on a aircraft as had so little room.
The food is consistently outstanding, with a variety of delicious flavours.
Have frequented many times, and will continue to.
Brilliant. One of Adelaide’s premier eateries.
Surprisingly outstanding Japanese in the heart of the CDB. Food was delicious! Drinks were amazing
What can I say... the food is amazing! Every dish is unique and full of flavour!
We went to shobosho with quite high expectations. We decided to have the chefs menu to try a variety of their dishes. I felt that the majority of the dishes were quite average and nothing stood out. There was a particular Japanese Greek salad that was quite bad that we couldn't finish. The two couples either side of us that also were given this salad and it seemed like they could finish it either. The teriyaki chicken was quite nice but we were only given the quarter. Considering the price of the meal, I felt that they could have considered the half. Perhaps the menu is better during other months but I didn't feel like it was anything amazing
Really enjoyable food and surroundings.
Another excellent meal at Shobosho - delicious flavours, diverse and interesting variety of food, wines that cimplimented the food. Spot on service.
Firstly many thanks to the person on the door who was able to calmly change our reservation to enable us to have a chair with a back.
Food choices and drinks were extensive and delicious and knowledgeable staff ensured ease of ordering.
A wonderful food and cultural experience.
Sat at the bar and had a fantastic night. Excellent food coupled with great service. Highly recommend
Never fails to impress
Unfortunately after all the hype we were slightly dissapointed with the food. The raw tuna was great and definitely worth trying but unfortunately the rest of the food was extremely mediocre. Our pork cutlets were over cooked that we barely touched them. The restaurant was beautiful and the ambience was great. Very busy for an 8pm sitting so vibe was great but unfortunately attension to detail got a bit lost due to it being busy. Hopefully we can try you again and it was just a busy 'off' night
Very interesting Japanese food. Lots of different flavours and textures. Great staff.
Highly recommend. We had the fixed menu.
Always delicious food and good service. The only drawback is that if there are only 2 of you then you are sat at the bar, which doesn't make for a relaxing experience.
Superb food, excellent experience and very knowledgeable staff!
Overall great restaurant - it was our second time & we would happily come back again!
Anniversary meal with the wife. Ordered the Wagyu tartare and raw tuna which were outstanding...tuna was a highlight of the night. Followed with the half chicken...again top draw with the bread to mop up the juices...liquid gold...garfish was next...told on arrival that it was boned from head to tail and we found at least a dozen bones which was the only negative of the night...apart from the bones the Gar was ripper...finished with an ice cream sandwich and a apricot cheesecake which were ok...would have liked more SA wine choice by the glass but apart from that really enjoyed the evening...still one of my favourite restaurants around
Service slow and inattentive. The lack of ventilation for an open kitchen was appalling. We had to shower and wash our hair after leaving as the smoke across the restaurant was so bad, it stung your eyes and impacted the entire experience. Food was okay but not worth enduring the uncomfortable restaurant environment. Definitely would not return.
Excellent service and drinks list. We were seated at the kitchen, which I like, but it was extremely smokey at times - that was the only downfall really. Yummy food, with a good balance of different sized dishes. Great food to share. Would definitely dine again.
Food was great but we were sat at the bar in front of the open fire, on a 40 degree day it was unbearable and really ruined the experience. Asked to move but all other tables were taken.
A friend’s birthday dinner, it was delicious!
Certainly value for money with the $50 pp feed me menu, wine prices ridiculously over the top. As I’m also in the industry I know the markup. Well greedy!
I should’ve expected when corkage was advised at $40.
Very first course Of beef tartare came with a rather disgusting curly hair in it. Chef sent out an extra dish but when it was time to pay no further mention.
That pretty much ruined it for me, from then on everything was under the microscope.
Such great expectation but sorry failed to wow me.
I love shobosho - great good great service. but can’t say it caters well for vegetarians
Lovely staff, great wine and amazing food! Will be back again
My first visit but definitely not my last. Enjoyed every minute and look forward to sharing my experience with friends and family. Excellent in every respect.
The place looks good and the food was good. Unfortunately I do not think it is a good value for money place. The food was not outstanding and we really did not like that even when we booked with more than a month in advance we were seated in the bar.
Fabulous food on a hot night. If you don’t like seats without a back (we don’t) you better ask for a booth but they only seat four. Terrific. Isn’t though.
Amazing food incredible atmosphere- we sat at the bar where the whole kitchen is open so we could watch everyone preparing our food. Very cool place
We had a thoroughly enjoyable night at Shobosho. The staff were friendly and most helpful, accommodating us at a different table when it was available. The food was very different and delicious as were the drinks.
Very good food. High noise level but high energy as well. We sat at kitchen counter and really enjoyed the watch as well as the banter
Alwas such a fabulous place for dinner. Food is outstanding! Great service too!
Great experience, especially sitting at the bar and watching the kitchen work. Great service, excellent flavours, will not be disappointed at all!
As usual absolutely amazing food!!! Staff were great
One of the best restaurants in Adelaide. The staff are awesome. Food is delicious.
Fantastic menu, with dishes that are beautifully balanced, and with subtle depths of flavours and textures. The wine list was excellent, and the music playlist was a perfect selection of the best 80s Australian music. Even being on a shared table, with basic stools was much better than expected - due to the quality of the food. Service was attentive and knowledgable.
Beautiful, clean, modern Japanese food. Thoroughly enjoyed absolutely everything we ate.
First time my friends had been there and they can’t wait to go again.
