SEVENTEEN and The Lounge
We've been to seventeen quite a few times now and each time the did had been excellent. Nice relaxed atmosphere and good service. This time was no different. We will continue to come back. Always a nice evening out.
I had my birthday celebration here last year for over 30 people and because of the excellent experience of the staff I go to Seventeen regular. I am having my birthday here again this year. The service, staff, food and cleanliness is excellent. I would recommend this venue. Thank you Seventeen xx
Had a really nice evening with friends.
After a mix up over the tasting menu which the staff quickly sorted for us we all enjoyed some great food and wine.
The staff were very polite and attentive and made us all feel welcome.
I have been to Seventeen on many occasions and always had a good meal but I am afraid I was really disappointed with the food and won’t be in a rush to go back. Service was very good but food terrible.
The food in general was good but the starter portions were so small ! !
Would have liked more of a selection of sandwiches and to choose which ones we had for afternoon tea. The cakes were lovely and so was the venue and service.
I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing quality, the setting is perfect and the waiters are attentive. I've been a couple of times now and only the most recent time was my wine bottle unattended (excellent service excludes being attentive to enpty glasses) which was a shame but not a deal breaker. I'd highly recommend seventeen to anyone, especially as their value for money is outstanding!
Set in a beautiful part of Tunbridge Wells. We enjoyed delicious cocktails in the comfortable bar area before our Sunday lunch. The service & food were excellent. Will definitely return
Food quality ok to good. Small sizes, but you kind of expect that at this type of place. For me just lacked a bit of atmosphere and the decor all seemed a bit 20 years ago. Good attentive service...if anything a bit too attentive as courses all came a bit too quick and we were in and out in an hour.
Absolutely amazing, had an amazing valentines evening
Lovely meal and the Spanish waiter who served us was fantastic and very attentive. However the entire experience was very rushed. Ten minutes between nibbles, starters and mains would’ve been good. Courses seemed to overlap which considering the price is not great.
A prime example would be Clos Maggoire in Covent Garden. Similar prices and last years Valentines meal was leisurely paced making sure the table was cleared down before each course.
Something to consider on busy nights perhaps.
Overall good food. Great staff. Environment maybe slightly clinical but as a hotel restaurant it is something to be expected.
A fairly quiet afternoon in Seventeen which I can’t believe is typical because this was a very good meal.
The set menu is extremely reasonable and the a la carte also looks like good value. I had hot flames salmon to start )delicious) and a burger for main. The honeyed figs to end with were delicious.
The wine list is a little pricey but there are still some bargains to choose.
The service was great. Everyone who looked after us did so with a smile and were on hand to make our experience unforgettable. Whilst they were all good, Mostafa is worthy of mention for making us most welcome.
Thanks to all at Seventeen for making
It a special afternoon.
Really like this place. Haven’t been for a while (and name has changed) but still really good. Smart surroundings. Really good food - I’m coeliac (gluten free) and half the menu is naturally gluten free so a great choice. Service was very good too. Strongly recommend
Great food! Location felt strange as no other tables around but it didn’t make a difference to the time we had. Lovely and relaxed and staff left us to it - which is a good thing !
An excellent meal well served in comfortable surroundings. Somewhat disappointed and surprised that we were the only people in the restaurant all evening.
The food would of been absolutely amazing, if it was hot.
My wife and I don’t get out much due to having a 4 year old and we were very much looking foreword to a night out for my birthday
Unfortunately the food delivered was warm at best, which was very disappointing.
Service was good and singer was amazing.
We enjoyed their sampling menu very much. An excellent salmon starter and venison main course. A less good 'trio of parmesan', I think it was called, second course and dessert, but enjoyable nonetheless. Each course accompanied by a very generously sized and well chosen wine. In all, we thought £40 per head was a very reasonable price for an interesting meal. The service was excellent - well timed and friendly throughout, and the noise levels and ambiance conducive to our enjoyment of the evening. We left with a warm glow!
I had booked afternoon tea and had the confirmation on my phone. When we arrived, the staff couldn’t find the booking so we had to wait and then go the the main reception and wait again. It turned out that someone had checked us in as seated already which was why it wasn’t showing as a future reservation. We didn’t get our food until 45 minutes after we arrived at the correct time of our booking. We were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco each which was appreciated and our server was very apologetic. The overall service was quite slow and our plain scones were really hard, I couldn’t even eat mine.
We went to Seventeen for the first time and we were not dissapointed. The food was superb and service was very attentive. Seventeen is a perfect choice for a special occasion or a nice evening treat. Special thanks to Alex, our waiter, who went above and beyond to make our wedding anniversary meal special! We will be back!
January is typically a quieter month for diners, but this made for attentive and prompt service, and the ability for conversation. We enjoyed the varied menu, and the wine list offered some interesting wines. Service was friendly and professional - we always appreciate the ability to dictate the pace of the delivery of courses, and the server, although only recently hired, was knowledgeable about food and drinks, and added to the enjoyment of the evening - Grazie Mille Mustafa!
A good spot for a NYE dinner. We had a good time with good food. No complaints.
Very good although I found the portions a bit small, nice atmosphere and great service
Very pleasant experience, good service and lovely food
Great food an interesting menu, great cocktails and service really enjoyed our evening and we were well looked after
We've been to seventeen on a number of occasions. The food is divine. Great wine. Service is always attentive but not intrusive Its just a fabulous place to eat.
The set lunch choice very limited and we all felt expensive for what was offered. The small cured salmon starter was tasty but would have been good to have had some bread alongside and the small bowl of soup pretty ordinary despite being served grandly on a slate. The ballottine of turkey ok but again pretty basic flavour wise while the chickpea option distinctly disappointing- very dry to swallow and really needed a sauce of some kind. It was quiet and our round table for 6 suited our conversation well. The staff were welcoming and friendly but really should not clear plates until all diners on the table have finished. All 6 of us would not rush to recommend Seventeen to others.
The Friday tasting menu is great value for money. It has a vegetarian option, which is equally as good as the carnivorous one.
Good food, service was good but room for improvement
I enjoyed a lunch here with friends and the set menu was such good value for money. The food and atmosphere were great!
I just love Seventeen and I go there quite often. I had my birthday celebration there back in September and the staff were brilliant. It’s lovely, clean and and the staff are polite and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant xx
Ok food, no atmosphere - empty. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.
From the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by a member of the team we were treated attentively and exceptionally well. The timings between the courses, the standard and quality of the food, the surroundings and the attention to detail were of an extremely high standard. Excellently priced for the level of service.
A warm welcome from friendly staff with excellent table service and great food and wine . Could not be faulted in any way . An enjoyable evening and we will definitely be back for more !!
Excellent food and perfect service. When we queried the correctness of a wine it was changed immediately and without any fuss. First class customer service.
Lovely décor throughout, nice atmosphere, relaxed, not rushed, yet attentive service. Delicious food, good wine list, would recommend for a special occasion.
Lovely Decor aswell as food. I've been for the afternoon tea with friends. Also the burger and bubbles eve with my hubby. Both of which i thoroughly enjoyed.
Went with a friend for the Steak Night on a Wednesday. Such good value at £12.50 for a lovely Sirloin Steak, Chunky Chips, Salad and glass of wine. Steak was absolutely lovely. We were eating early so not many people there, although it did start filling up a bit later. Service was friendly and good and would certainly go again.
I had been to this restaurant a couple of times before, probably two years ago. It has now changed it's name to 17 and is delightful. The service was impeccable and the food delicious - plus, of course, the cocktails! However there was hardly anyone else there which is such a shame. I do hope it gets the recognition it deserves. I think perhaps the lack of parking is some of the problem......
Friday night tasting menu is a must. The food, including presenatation, was of the highest quality and the wines selected complemented each course. And for the quality it was tremendous value too.
Recently had our 10th anniversary dinner at seventeen.
Food was excellent staff were fantastic will definitely be back soon.
