Only one pasta dish in an Italian restaurant.... not good!
Food is absolutely delicious!!!!
The food there is always great but this time they ran out of half their pastas by 7:15 pm (!). That’s a shanda! Otherwise there are plenty of good choices. They also have an impressive wine list and Bryan, the som, is highly skilled to navigate you through it. The ambiance is very pleasant, cozy and modern looking. But! Last time we were there on a Sunday and the noise level was really disturbing. The music was way too loud and almost techno-like at times, not conducive to having a relaxed Sunday dinner. Even my 16yo acknowledged it. If the restaurant is trying to position itself as hip and millennial friendly, this is not the way to do it. This was the first visit with some negatives to it. We will be back in hope of no slip-ups and to enjoy everything we do about the restaurant
The best Italian restaurant in NYC. Must tries on the menu are tuna susci, beet salad, creamy palenta, yellow tail, and short rib pasta.
It depends on the audience. I thought the food was awesome, and the actual vibe was nice. However, there were two things that were just not expected when paying that much for dinner. 1. The club below was literally vibrating the bench we were sitting on, which when you are paying $500, that is not expected. Additionally, there would be points where the cold would just come in and freezing while eating dinner.
We had a delicious dinner as always at Scarpetta.
Love this place. We had to wait for our reservation as they were overbooked but the manager made sure to send us plenty of appetizers gratis which was very generous. It was a friends birthday so they were very accommodating!
The food is good but keep in mind that the servings are small (4-5oz). More like a tasing menu. The place gets very busy so Expect the service to drop accordingly. This is definitely a much better lunch place as way too crowed by dinner time.
Nice new space! We were delayed for our reservation due to traffic, but they accommodated us anyway. We had one hour to eat and run, and they were able to get us in and out on time. The food was delicious and pleasing to the eye!
All around great dinner - food, service and cocktails! The agnolotti and black cod were standout. We also shared the lemon cake and chocolate cake - both were amazing. Thanks for a wonderful dinner Scarpetta.
High end dining worth the price is hard to find. This restaurant, however, covers all the bases with elegant ambiance, friendly service and delicious food. Great for any kind of night or occasion.
60th Birthday the food and ambiance were outstanding
The service wasn’t amazing and it was slightly noisy
They seated us in a spot where the waiters were constantly trying to squeeze by and kept knocking my boyfriend’s head. This is while there were other open tables. It was so rude and clear that they were trying to get someone... anyone... to take the table.
My new favorite spot in NYC! Went for brunch and almost went back for dinner on the same day. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back!
Food and service were great but the table was too small for 3 people. It was a bit uncomfortable and hot so we could not enjoy our dinner and bottle of wine as much as we would have liked too
Was a wonderful experience. Only complaint is that they sandwiches us right next to another table. For the price and quality, you’d expect to be spread out a bit more. But everything else was great
Amazing food. Just love that place!!
Great food, quiet place to have a good conversation
We had the most wonderful time. I love it here so much. Everything is always amazing. My one friend hesitated to spend $ on food and he was totally in love w the meal. The bread is also always my favorite. Staff was superb. It was New Years Day and they did a fabulous job. Can’t wait to come back.
Excellent food and service. I’ve eaten at Scarpetta in several different cities and I’ve never been disappointed. Would highly recommend.
We were greeted and seated quickly but felt very rushed. We were meeting friends who we hadn’t seen in a while and couldn’t even get comfortable before waiters were interrupting us. Food was served very quickly and we felt like they were more interested in turning over the table then allowing us to have a relaxed fun dinner.
Delicious! Love this restaurant.
Everything from drinks, dinner, service, everything was outstanding. This was my 3rd time to eat at the NY location. Awesome service!!!
The food at Scarpetta was excellent as was the service at the table. The only reason for the lower ratings is because even with reservations they were 45 minutes late seating our party. While in the bar area waiting for our table, we found out we were not the only people experiencing very late seating with reservations. When in NYC again, I will give them another try in the hope they do a better job honoring the reservation time.
Service was excellent. Food was very good. Highly recommwnd
Family get together
Restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Waiters were attentive. Food was amazing.
Gorgeous meal, and not just the famous spaghetti. The chef gladly accommodates special dietary requirements. Service-wise, Alex the manager and Lily the server are phenomenal! Their attention is authentic and compassionate. The room runs beautifully, as does the bar. We are eager to return.
I had a truly outstanding meal at Scarpetta. The roasted cauliflower, the halibut and the pear tart were all amazing. The dining room is beautiful and the service was very good. Just one minor thing - my entree came out while I was still working on my appetizer. It wasn't a huge deal - but it's always nice to have a quick break between courses to have silverware replaced and the next dish placed right in front of you. But I still had a very good experience.
Just a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Impeccable service impeccable food- highly recommend and will be returning as soon as possible!
We did an early reservation with our 3 kids (ages 11-7) on a Thurs evening and while we were seated in the bar area, it felt chic and relaxing. Our lead server Dino was very helpful and the team was super attentive! The spaghetti w tomato and basil was delicious!!! I had one made gluten-free which did NOT disappoint. Also the GF bred they offered at the start was the best that Ive ever had! We loved the steak and the lobster ravioli. Would love to try it one night w friends and see how an evening unwinds there. The bar seemed very cool as well.
Best meal we had in NYC! Great food great atmosphere great service ! Thank you
Very disappointing, booked weeks in advance, restaurant even called and texted to confirm that we would be keeping our reservation. Open Table indicated that there was a special Christmas 5 course meal. Arrived to a noisy and crowded entrance, was seated after about 5 minutes in what appeared to be the bar area. Music was loud and obnoxious, asked waitress if this was the dining area, said yes, though they had other areas too. Tables were cramped as expected in NYC, though when you are mere feet from the Hostess area, felt like we were in the middle of the entrance. We couldn’t get reseated and food delivery was slow, food was fine, though didn’t match the price. We dine all across the country and rely on Open tables ratings to help. This restaurant was definitely a miss and wouldn’t recommend. As a note this was December 25th, so was surprised at the lack of care we received
Just an amazing Christmas dinner experience for our family. Table was waiting for us; staff was friendly and warm and the food was exactly as expected. So glad they had the full menu available instead of just a chef-selected prix fixe menu -- we had so many choices and weren't forced into a minimum-priced meal where we maybe wouldn't have had so many choices. Great, great restaurant!!
Beautiful cuisine, little pricy, but for NY circumstances even good pricing. Really enjoyed it!
Everything amazing in general , I Had dîner another time before and it was faboulus but This Time, ir was Christmas eve and everyone had à small present when leaving thé restaurant, but they told me that they Didn’ t have more. ir’ s a Shame because they must have prepared better this night ! It’ s such a nice place and so good to eat that it’ s disapointing...
We were in the bar area or I might have given a better score but they accommodated us arriving early. The sommelier was really good suggesting a great wine. Food was very good and service was ok.
