Great ambience, food and service. Highly recommend. Family friendly.
Order the Thai mint drink. That is all.
Great place to dine while staying at the JW Marriott. It was a great goodbye dinner with friends.
Very nice setting, food great, price is right, service excellent.
Fried rice was excellent, however, portions were large. One order is sufficient for 2 people.
Great space located in palapa huts. Delicious food, good service & creative drinks.
Below average food... Duck was hard it was difficult to chew.
Great food and service.
We went here for dinner and also for the breakfast buffet. Both were good, my family enjoyed the breakfast food more. There were so many choices...mostly American standards with a good amount of Mexican food too. The fresh air dining was very nice.
Pros: The restaurant is beautiful and open, very windy so food gets cold easily. The ambiance and Thai food flavor are on point!
Cons: parking lot view
Food was subpar at best. Lacked flavor. Service was also not spaced out properly. Appetizers and entrees came back to back with no breathing room in between.
The setting is really nice, however we were seated at a dirty table (got sticky stuff all over my husband’s hand, forearm, shirt). The food was terrible, we love Thai food and this was far from decent. I ordered vegetarian red curry and got yellow curry. My husband had the red curry beef and had only a couple bites. The food has absolutely no flavor. We were looking forward to dining there but it fell so short. The server was very nice and pleasant but didn’t really seem concerned with the fact that the bowls were full when she came to pick them up. I felt pretty bad the next day and wondered if I could even eat Thai food again. Debated writing a review because I understand a lot of restaurants are struggling during this time but felt that others should know how bad this was.
Excelente servicio y la comida riquísima
Very good food. Everything great. Chicken soup and chicken satay. Should give them 39 min for Mango soufflé. They should let customers know before hand.
Picturesque setting with attentive and engaged service. Quality ingredients with interesting flavors that sometimes go outside the boundaries of traditional Thai. Our server Ximena made the dinner all the more enjoyable with her outstanding service.
I’m always in question when a hotel tries for cuisine that is not your normal fare. So why not try Sasi Thai.
This review is during Covid and not b.c.-before Covid so perhaps it’s different then.
They need a lot more staff, after my food was brought to me I had to ask for utensils to eat it.
That should not happen, but when you are short staffed it does and will.
The food is meh, I had a beef dish that was tough and greasy.
The coconut soup is spicy so not much of the coconut can do to overcome that tingling.
The spring rolls were very good, but the side sauces were overly salty. Perhaps to compensate for the lacking intensity of the flavors you want in a spring roll.
No Mexican restaurants in either Marriott which is strange and no seafood specialties which is also unique for a hotel on the beach in the Gulf of Mexico.
Others have mentioned the food short comings, perhaps too many good places within walking distance is why the Marriott has never upped their game?
Interesting experience while on vacation trying to explore the food choices, however this might be a been there done that for me at Sasi Thai.
Restaurant has an amazing ambiance. Food was delicious
The experience was basically just like ordering Thai food for takeout, but paying upscale restaurant prices. Food is served wrapped in plastic wrap at your table. The martinis were the worst drinks I’ve ever consumed in Cancun.
This restaurant is so ahhhmazing! The service and food was impeccable.
Amazing! The food was great and very reasonable! Service was fantastic! Outdoor patio seating was awesome!
Loved every minute of it!
Un bonito lugar, la comida es muy buena y de un precio bastante razonable. La atención igual es de buena calidad.
Para comida tailandesa me parece un lugar recomendable.
Food was very good! Pad Thai is a must. Service was slow, but friendly and caring. It’s an outside restaurant with a magnificent ambiance.
Enjoyed a great evening with fantastic Thai food. Especially enjoyed the Cucumber Carpaccio.... great Tamarind Martini!
Wow. What a fantastic evening! From the restaurant’s Thai-inspired ambience, to very attentive service, to amazing food, Sasi Thai delivered! We enjoyed chicken and beef satay as an appetizer, which were both delicious. The peanut sauce was excellent- just the right amount of kick! (My advice for the juiciest meat is to remove the skewers off the tabletop grill after a few minutes or else they will continue to cook.) Other dishes followed, equally as wonderful... Ahi tuna rolls (wow!), coconut milk soup with chicken (best I’ve ever had), and red curry with jasmine rice (the pineapple blends marvelously) were all superb. Our waitress and all the staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful and we left the restaurant with smiles all around.
Kudos to everyone at Sasi Thai. You’ll want to visit this restaurant while you’re in Cancun!
Missed our regular server, Bri, but Ximena was a great replacement. Good food and service as always.
The food and service are always excellent. Well worth the visit when visiting Cancun.
Delicious! Staff was amazing. Beautiful layout and decor. we will be back!
Food was OK everything else was good. Maybe we are used to the Thai food in the US.
We had a lovely meal, each dish was fresh tasted and full of flavour! I booked a table for four and was easily able to change my reservation to a larger group with no hassle. Thank you for such a lovely dinner - we definitely will come back!!
I have a peanut allergy and the staff were all extremely helpful with helping me choose items that would be fine for me to eat. Loved every minute of our meal here!
Unfortunately, we learn when its too late that our favorite dishes may be cooked slightly different than what you are used too. I really wish I spoke up to let the waitress know I was not enjoying my food, I suspect the experience would have turned out quite differently. On the other hand, it was obvious something was wrong because I left almost the entire dish.
Nice outdoor restaurant at the Marriott Cancun resort. Food was tasty, and service was OK. It was windy and that made the experience less enjoyable.
Not a great Thai experience. Over priced and the food is just okay.
The place is very pleasant, the food is good but not outstanding, service is good and attention to detail is very good specially to meet special needs like possible allergies, unfortunately service is formal but stiff, lacks true warmth and genuine friendliness which makes the interaction a bit too rigid. The experience was good enough to be decently enjoyable but not enough to make us come back. We wouldn’t repeat the experience.
Really good Thai food, beautifully presented in a serene outdoor oasis. Particularly enjoyed the satay brought out on a tabletop charcoal grill. Also, green curry with snapper was thick, rich and spicy. But really, it was all great, paht Thai and pineapple fried rice were excellent.
We ate at Sasi on NYE. Our food was excellent.
Solid choice! The Sea Bass, Grilled Chicken, Duck and Seafood Curry were all very good just not real hot. Very nice flavor. The shrimp skewer appetizer was average but we added it to the main course so we could all share which was a good approach. The Lychee Martini is another story, it was incredible!! That martini has been the best single item we have tried on our trip. Make an effort to go check one out. Sashi Tai is a strong choice, put Fred’s to shame which frankly is not hard to do...
Nice ambiance. Attentive service, not overbearing but present. Enjoyed chicken satay- presented on a grill, Delish sauces on the side. Pad Thai and chicken fried rice to complete our light meal. Perfect.
Fun break from the traditional Cancun vacation food. Good value and reasonably authentic Thai flavors across the menu. Limited wine and beer list, but traditional Thai and Asian classics round out the bar menu. Exceptional service and hospitality!
