Saint Jacques at The Burke Manor Inn is the only 4 Diamond AAA rated restaurant in the Triad. Located in the picturesque railway town of Gibsonville, we serve dinner Wednesday - Saturday and lunch Thursday - Saturday. We recommend reservations! Enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda then convene to the intimate dining room where a fine French meal is offered. The owners, Lil & Lori, previously owned Saint Jacques French Cuisine in Raleigh, which was voted one of the top 100 restaurants in the US by OpenTable diners under their ownership from 2009-2014. They have brought those same standards they applied in Raleigh for 10 years to the Inn. As of 2014 they have received the 4 Diamond AAA rate yearly.

We visited St. Jacques for the first time to celebrate our 26th anniversary. I’d heard about it and although it’s not on our beaten path, thought it would be nice to try for a special occasion. The servers were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent. We both had the tomato pie pastry which was very good. I had the special entree of the night, a braised lamb shank, and it was so tender and delicious. The accompanying beef ravioli and asparagus was as well. My husband had a butternut squash entree. It was also very good but probably not enough food for him. I think he may have wanted a steak of some sort. He didn’t complain though. We appreciated the little extras of a small bite quiche and a palate cleanser at appropriate times. The location inside the Manor is very beautiful. My husband’s only complaint surprisingly was the very quiet space. He felt like he had to almost whisper because it was so quiet. There was nice jazz playing and personally, I didn’t find it uncomfortable. And we were given an anniversary wish on my dessert plate with a candle on a special plate. We had a lovely evening. Friday evening was "quieter" than normal, so assure your husband it's usually calm, smooth service, with our jazz music, but not as quiet. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. What a perfect night. It was the most relaxing restaurant I have ever been to. I chose the squash ravioli which was amazing. My companions chose the filet with pastry covering. It wasn't as good. It was a little on the flavorless side and a bit tough. The onion soup was the best I had ever had. The dessert which I believe was the chocolate bomb had a very chocolate taste and was very rich so a little of it went a long way. The waiter was also a joy. Would highly recommend Saint Jacques for a one of a kind experience.

We had lunch and the food was delicious. I had Croque Madame with a small side salad and the most wonderful cup of Onion Gratinee soup. There was no room for dessert. If I could stuff the dessert in, I would have had the bread pudding. Our wait person was so personable and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. St. Jacques is on the top favorites of my restaurant list.

My wife and I have traveled to the Burke Manor several times (it's about an hour from our home), usually for dinner and a celebration, typically a birthday or our anniversary, and twice adding a night in one of the beautiful B&B rooms. This week personal business took us to nearby Burlington and we took advantage to visit Lil and Lori for lunch; we were very happy we did. As usual the food was excellent and the service from David was impeccable.

The Inn and the Restaurant provided one of the best experiences we have ever had. The food and the attention to detail are absolutely exceptional, the wait staff is very knowledgeable and personable, and the wine list is perfect for the cuisine. We can't wait to visit again. This was our first time at this St. Jacques, we've been to the one in Raleigh and we are glad we made the trip from Raleigh to try this spot out. First it's located in an old house that is nicely decorated. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken. Our waiter gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. Before we decided what we were going to order, a small warm puff pastry was brought out for each of us, designed to be eaten with your fingers. After exploring the menu we knew what we wanted. My wife started with a tomato puree soup and I got the escargot. As we fresh out of the oven hot choice of multi-grain or traditional bread/roll. then for her meal she ordered the filet wrapped in a pastry and I ordered the Dorado Oscar. While we waited they brought out fresh warm bread and soft creamy butter. Just before our meals came out they brought us a small scoop of mint sorbet to "cleanse" our mouths. Shortly after that, our soup and escargot came out. My wife's soup warm and silky smooth. My escargot was also good, a little short on the garlic butter though, I like to sop it up with my bread. Our main meals came out and were plated very nicely. My wife's filet came out warm, tender and tasty. It also came with asparagus spears and mac n cheese. She said the mac was her least favorite part of her meal. My meal was a mahi filet topped with crab meat, served over risotto and some asparagus spears. Every thing was delicious. The deserts looked good but we were too full to eat anymore. For us, the hour trip from Raleigh to Gibsonville was worth effort. Give St. Jacques a try, you won't be disappointed.
