Ruth's Chris Steak House - El Paso

When we want to treat ourselves we go to Ruth’s Chris. They never disappoint. Great food, great service. My only critique would be that they should remove the TVs; I am grateful that when I asked to have them turned off they immediately did so. Having televisions on while dining detracts from the ambiance of a fine dining experience.

Great steak!!! Food in general is excellent. Service is very good and ambiance appropriate for all occasions.

I've yet to have a subpar meal at Ruth's Chris!! Celebrated my birthday here two years in a row.

This was our second time there. The service was terrible. I expected the same experience as the first time and it was not. I will not be going back.

Great service by Eddie. Enjoyed our visit. The food was great as usual. The place was very, very sensitive to the current sanitary requirements.

Food was very good. Worth the price, maybe not. But what was not good was the service, which made the price less valuable. A waiter should greet you upon sitting. It took a while for this to happen. Just many little things like the side dish not being delivered until I asked for it. Then I had forgotten about the other side dish. I also noticed the waiter did not tend well to other guests around us. He went up to another table and asked for their order and did not even ask about drinks. We had to ask for more bread twice, waiter gave up the "it's in the oven" basic response. He spent a lot of time in the back, what was he doing? I appreciate the discount for the mistake, but bad service is duly noted.

Honestly loved the whole experience, this was our first time at Ruth’s and the whole environment was spectacular. My spouse and I didn’t feel rushed. It wasn’t crowded looked and smelled clean. Everyone was so welcoming and we had such a great time.

Certainly no dress code. The bisque needs sherry in it.

Spent over $300. All three steaks had to be sent back; undercooked! Service was horrible, and it was a slow night. They confirmed my reservation, reconfirmed my reservation by email, and a personal morning phone call as well, and still was late getting us in, and preparing our table. We were set next to the bar when it was my daughter’s birthday and there were plenty of nice booths elsewhere available. It took 1 full hour to get our food. Waitress AWOL. Thank God for the busboy. We had plans after dinner that had to be cancelled because it took 2 1/2 to get finished eating; 30 minutes just to get our dessert. I Have eaten at the Ruth Chris in San Francisco, and in Beverly Hills. Loved it, but I WILL NEVER be back to the one in El Paso. Should be closed down. Absolutely horrible!

The server was outstanding. However, there were issues with the food. My date’s rib eye had a lot of grease. I was served a fillet that was rare when I had asked for medium rare. In my opinion, a steakhouse should know how to cook their steaks to perfection. We also ordered the au gratin and the lobster Mac and cheese. No complaints there. Thanks to our amazing server, we might give the restaurant another chance.

Great food, service and ambiance . However the men’s restroom has a plumbing problem...constant foul smell, been an issue for years

First off the restaurant was very clean, and the ambiance was perfect for setting the mood, in this case a cozy private family meal We dined and had the pleasure of having our thanksgiving meal during this visit. The food looked great and tasted delicious. Our server was courteous and attentive to our needs. It was a pleasant experience.

Honestly the best service ever! The food has always been great at Ruths Chris but the staff is extremely nice and careful during these times. I felt safe the minute I walked in, and everyone is taking their distance. Everyone is super professional and they make the experience an unforgettable one! I love going there.

I loved the relaxed ambiance and the adhered social distancing requirements. The food is pricey but well worth it. The Caesar salad and mashed potatoes are unbelievable.

Awesome staff and management .

Our waiter was terrible. Soon as we said no liquor he left us. No refills of tea and no offer for dessert or coffee. Celebrating my father’s birthday while he is suffering from agent orange leukemia. Had hopes of a great and potentially last birthday but Ruth Chris’s waiter ruined it. Doubt if I go back.

The food is always amazing! Had dinner with friends and it was first time visit for a friend at Ruth Chris. Ahi tuna , seafood tower and ribeye steaks perfectly delicious!
The only issue was my ice tea was never refilled without me asking , the server was very good at everything else but this. She had a helper at the start but he never came back to the table. At this level of restaurant AND with social distancing in effect , only a handful of tables to serve , an empty glass while eating should not be overlooked. And I absolutely hate when other staff members walk by a table and notice empty glasses. The hostess (2) , sommelier , other servers , even someone being trained all walked by the table and can’t ask about refilling drinks. Should be a team effort to help out all tables not just the ones the server have been assigned too. This has happened at this location before...

As always, everything was outstanding. This is our go to restaurant for a special occasion.

Was there for a business meal and as usual the service and food where amazing

For as expensive as Ruth’s Chris is I expected so much more. The steaks came out on a plate sizzling in butter, but my med-rare steak was more rare than med-rare. It’s obvious also that the steaks are only seared under a broiler at the last minute (hence the scalding hot sizzling plate) and were only seared on the top side. The amount of butter on the steak and the plate was nearly overwhelming and really destroyed the flavor of the meat itself. The baked potato was overcooked and had probably been kept warm for quite some time, and the hollandaise sauce for the grilled asparagus as bland and without much flavor. Normally I wouldn’t complain too much about sides, but at 7 dollars a pop, this is a shortcoming that just can’t be overlooked.

Wine prices and selection were not great. Prices seemed exorbitantly high and selection was limited to maybe a dozen choices (maybe because of COVID??).

Overall after ordering a single appetizer, two mixed drinks, two glasses of wine, two 14 ounce sirloins, a baked potato, mashed potatoes, and asparagus and paying $285 for two people I can say with assured confidence that we won’t return to Ruth’s Chris.

Bottom line is - a high end “chain restaurant” is still just a chain restaurant and you’re probably far better supporting a small local chef where you’ll get better food for the same price or less.

The steak was overpriced for the quality of meat. The atmosphere and service were wonderful.

Everything was amazing except our appetizer. Our calamari was soggy from the sauce they dump on top. I recommend it on the side. Otherwise everything was great, especially our main courses and adult beverages. Professional service.
