Ruth's Chris Steak House - El Paso
sliced filet, barnaise sauce, garlic bread, fries
a ruth's classic
Sweet Potato Casserole
with pecan crust
The appetizers, the drinks, the staff, the good were all top notch!
The food is always amazing! Had dinner with friends and it was first time visit for a friend at Ruth Chris. Ahi tuna , seafood tower and ribeye steaks perfectly delicious!
The only issue was my ice tea was never refilled without me asking , the server was very good at everything else but this. She had a helper at the start but he never came back to the table. At this level of restaurant AND with social distancing in effect , only a handful of tables to serve , an empty glass while eating should not be overlooked. And I absolutely hate when other staff members walk by a table and notice empty glasses. The hostess (2) , sommelier , other servers , even someone being trained all walked by the table and can’t ask about refilling drinks. Should be a team effort to help out all tables not just the ones the server have been assigned too. This has happened at this location before...
As always, everything was outstanding. This is our go to restaurant for a special occasion.
Lilliana was very helpful and ensured our surprise birthday dinner was a wonderful experience ❤️
For as expensive as Ruth’s Chris is I expected so much more. The steaks came out on a plate sizzling in butter, but my med-rare steak was more rare than med-rare. It’s obvious also that the steaks are only seared under a broiler at the last minute (hence the scalding hot sizzling plate) and were only seared on the top side. The amount of butter on the steak and the plate was nearly overwhelming and really destroyed the flavor of the meat itself. The baked potato was overcooked and had probably been kept warm for quite some time, and the hollandaise sauce for the grilled asparagus as bland and without much flavor. Normally I wouldn’t complain too much about sides, but at 7 dollars a pop, this is a shortcoming that just can’t be overlooked.
Wine prices and selection were not great. Prices seemed exorbitantly high and selection was limited to maybe a dozen choices (maybe because of COVID??).
Overall after ordering a single appetizer, two mixed drinks, two glasses of wine, two 14 ounce sirloins, a baked potato, mashed potatoes, and asparagus and paying $285 for two people I can say with assured confidence that we won’t return to Ruth’s Chris.
Bottom line is - a high end “chain restaurant” is still just a chain restaurant and you’re probably far better supporting a small local chef where you’ll get better food for the same price or less.
The steak was overpriced for the quality of meat. The atmosphere and service were wonderful.
Everything was amazing except our appetizer. Our calamari was soggy from the sauce they dump on top. I recommend it on the side. Otherwise everything was great, especially our main courses and adult beverages. Professional service.
Great food and great atmosphere. Have a wonderful evening.
We were disappointed the $40 special as advertised was only available in the bar. We would've asked for bar seating. Waiters were attentive, but needed to be reminded of items a few times. Our guests said their meal was overpriced, but delicious. We shared an entree which made it affordable. Next time we will ask for bar seating for the $40 specials.
Great place to sit and enjoy food and drink with a loved one! Expensive but well worth the date night!
It was great all around
Were sat down on time

Celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary. Special place, great food and excellent service.
Perfect as always, the staff makes you feel like family
Our waiter Joshua is always very professional and friendly. He has taken care of us 3 times and has always been outstanding.
Excellent service and excellent food!
Dessert bread puddin was very good
Amazing experience as always, although I was under the impression a nice restaurant like this had a dress code. A lot of people in gym clothes and hats were admitted while we were there.
A regular stop when I’m in El Paso. Food and service is always great.
Great service food came out quick great wine recommendations.
We Celebrated our Anniversary at Ruth’s Chris like we have done it for the last 15 years in a Ruth’s around the country where ever we find ourselves we try to look for a Ruth’s Chris nearby and celebrate, thanks for the great experience ones again.
-No sear on steaks

Note: Covid-19 may have affected quality.
We were very excited to make the stop in El Paso for Ruth Chris. Upon arriving the staff was friendly and welcoming, and even had a gluten sensitive menu available for me at the table. Unfortunately, the dishware at the table was dirty which is very concerning at a time like this with all of the COVID-19. When we order our meal, my steak came to the table overcooked and my husbands came to the table under cooked, so we had to do a little bit of swapping since we did not have time to send them back on our tight schedule. The vegetables were cooked perfect but bland. Ordered espresso to go which came out more like a strong cup of coffee instead of shots. Overall a disappointment.
Celebrated my birthday with dinner at Ruth’s Chris and was very pleased with the service considering the current COVID situation.
Excellent food!! Cowboy steak was amazing!recomended
Great food and wonderful service
Been to Ruths Chris sevea times and never a poor experience until now. Everything was great except for the food. Both salmon and steak were slightly overcooked, did not taste as good as usual... might be expected from a lesser restaurant but we were surprised and disappointed. Oh well must be due to COVID, maybe they dont have the same cook or their food is sitting in the freezer too long. Not sure what happened.
This place is nice ! The decor , ambiance, meals and service is great !
The food was almost great, my baked potato had a “hollow heart” in it (a big gray body). Not very appetizing, but it doesn’t affect the edible part of the potato. The steaks were amazing but the sides could have been better. Ruth’s used to enforce a dress code, but it doesn’t seem to be enforced anymore. The code was business casual, but lots of patrons were in jeans. Which I suppose isn’t bad, but a little strange when you’re in business casual attire.
We had Joshua and Jacob to serve us. They were great! The food was delicious as always. Thank you!!
It's our favorite restaurant in EP. The food and service is remarkable and beyond compare. Monthly specials make it a good value. The staff is so friendly...its very much like eating at a family restaurant. I highly recommend to all.
First time visit. Pleasantly surprised.
We arrived at 6:55 pm with a 7 pm reservation. We had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated. What good was the reservation then?
The waitstaff was outstanding. Drinks and appetizer orders were delivered in a timely manner without issue.
For an entrée, my wife ordered a medium-rare filet mignon with a blue cheese crust with mashed potatoes and a side of mushrooms. The filet mignon came well-done with mushrooms and creamed spinach. We sent the filet back for being way too well done and for the spinach because she ordered mushrooms. Weird how they could confuse them. My order had arrived without issue. About 10 minutes later her filet came out again. This time it was a filet with shrimp on top with zero blue cheese crust. It's nice that they did that without ever inquiring about a shellfish allergy. We rejected the steak immediately and asked for a filet with a blue cheese crust. The mashed potatoes arrived a few minutes later. At this point, I was 1/3 of the way through my own plate thinking I was insane for considering this an appropriate venue to enjoy a dinner with my wife. Thankfully, a few minutes later they bought my wife’s filet back out. This time they had put the blue cheese crust on top…with the shrimp that she never ordered delightfully placed on top of the blue cheese crust. They comped us $25.00 for the trouble.
If there were ever such an overpriced establishment that wasn’t worth the trouble this is it. I essentially had to eat dinner while my wife watched and was compensated for a side dish. A side dish!? My wife sent her $50 filet back TWICE and they compensated us the price of a side dish!
We paid for the experience and the food tonight. Both were mediocre are best. I would not recommend the El Paso location if you’re looking for either. Look, no one goes to Ruth’s Chris looking for a cheap meal. They should at least be able to provide a better service than the 5-Guys across the street.
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. This is certainly not how we wanted your visit to go. We'd like to learn more -- please consider sending us your contact information, including a phone number so that we can reach out to you directly. Thank you!
The petite filet Oscar style is delicious as well as the sweet potato casserole. The waiter wasn't very knowledgeable about the wine list so I ended up getting a pomegranate smash.
Excellent service, great food had a wonderful time.
Nice place but service was lacking, food was mediocre . I have been to several Ruth’s in the past and love them but this one needs some help!
Great wait staff very good food attentive waiters
