It was ordinary and nothing special and as there is so much competition in this category there are other places I would rather go than here.
Good atmosphere, good food at a decent price, the missus felt her fudge cake was a bit dry but everything else was great.
The food was poor and the girl in the kitchen was multi tasking dressing salad and I assume googling if she was doing correctly. Also the manager was strolling from the floor to the kitchen prepping food for service. Not very hyped on that kind of hygiene
The service was excellent, couldn’t fault it. I didn’t enjoy my meal though but perhaps that was just a bad choice I ordered. Busy place, good attention to customers.
Meal still hadn't arrived after an hour they apologised and said it wouldn't be long they had obviously lost our order waited another 20 minutes then left practically ignored the whole time 0 customer service all running about with no organisation won't be back
Had to ask for service after being ignored for 15 mins. Found it quite uncomfortable when the tables and chairs were being cleared for the Comedy club whilst eating. To be fair. Understaffed. Been here before but don't think I'll be back.
Food as normal was good, service could be improved had to wait a while to order drinks and again had to try and catch someone’s eye to order more I know they are busy especially prior to a concert but maybe should have certain staff to look after certain tables, didn’t realise until we left that was charged adult price for my 12 yr old granddaughters burger, both granddaughters had ice cream different flavours asked the guy which was which as they looked the same and he couldn’t tell asked him for the bill at this point but had to ask someone else 5 mins later.
Good food good service. Pre theatre menu good choice
We ordered food and it literally arrived 3 minutes later. Thought food was very overpriced and feel they were taking advantage that people will eat there for ease as it is right next to the hydro. Fudge cake was so dry. Server was quite good but felt they just wanted you to eat and get out so that could feed as many covers as they could before the concert. Definitely won’t eat there again
This place is dull and dreary with no atmosphere.
We were given the pre-theatre menu which has very limited choice. The food was not great, we had chilli which had little flavour. Service was ok and reasonably quick.
Overall we thought the dining experience was poor and overpriced.
Great food, excellent service and friendly staff. Only downside was the room temperature which was a little too cold to be comfortable.
we arrived for our meal at 6.30pm and were finished 2 courses by 7pm, that might give you a clue as to how good the food was! the food was not great, starters were just okay but the main courses were poor. I had the chicken burger which was really dry and chewy, my husband had the nachos which were not great either. I had booked here as we were going to the comedy show (which was brilliant) but would eat somewhere else if coming to the comedy club again
Food was served cold. This wouldn’t have been a problem had there been an apology and an offer to replace without a fuss but the managers rude response ‘i’m not going to lie, I tasted it and it’s roasting’ was unprofessional and ruined the visit for us. Much more professional service from the far younger mebers of staff. Otherwise, there was nothing wrong with the food but nothing special. Overpriced due to location, wouldn’t recommend.
Have been there many times in the past in the past and enjoyed good food and service. Unfortunately the last visit was very poor. Was given 1 hour to have our pre-theatre meal and give the table back at 6pm. The main course arrived at 5:50 so had to rush, and the meal I ordered was a burger which was burnt like a bit of charcoal so had to be sent back and my daughters fish and chips were cold too. Maybe an off night for the kitchen staff..... Will try them again.......maybe
The service was very poor both my wife and I ordered the fish and chips. It was presented well but it didn’t taste good. The fish was very dry and the batter was hard It took three times of asking to get a sweet menu. Bannoffe pie!!!! Who are you trying to kid absolutely rubbish won’t be back !!!!
The service and food was lovely was my first time there and won’t be my last. The staff were very helpful and understanding
3rd time now to the Rotunda Bar and Diner and again the place was amazing. Like the fact they play the music of the band that was playing at the Hydro
Staff were really friendly and attentive. Food was very tastey and amazing value for money.
The service was incredibly slow and not particularly warm. The food was okay, although there was too much salad on everything and the lettuce was particularly awful and difficult to eat. The curly fries and starters were good, which is why I gave food more than 1 star but overall it was disappointing and both my husband and I, who ordered the same main, suffered from terrible sickness and griping feelings all evening after about an hour or so of our meal.
We won't be returning.
Two out of our party of four enjoyed our meal. Fish and chips disappointing as fish was soggy. However as we have been before and enjoyed our meal this wouldn’t put us off returning
The Rotunda Bar and Diner is a great place for a meal before a show. The food is spot on and the staff are amazing. I have 3 shows next month and all ready booked in again.
Its not very often my Wife and i get away for us time so we were looking forward to going somewhere different to eat..We arrived on time for our booking...after being seated we were only given a reduced menu... we didnt go there for that!!!...it took 20 mins for any member of staff to acknowledge we were there and get our order taken...starters arrived..eventually...luke warm..we then had to wait a further 50 mins for our mains despite asking for the duty manager twice and our request not being passed it took a member of bar staff to sort it... yes it was busy but if they can't cope with a small pre theatre menu there is something very wrong... its not like it was a la carte....there seemed to be plenty of staff on duty and despite food sitting on the pass waiting to go to tables for upto 15 mins at a time a large percentage of the staff were happy to stand around looking at it.....it was no surprise when ours eventully arrived cold....needless to say we did not finish any of our meals....I paid for our drinks as there was no problem with the bar service but refused to pay for the food...
Very disappointing as the website and menu looked good...
Would I recommend......not a chance.
Brilliant value for money, and free parking.
Food was delicious, it exceeded our expectations
Food was very bland , service was okay , everything seemed rushed
Food is reasonably priced for what you get, chairs very uncomfortable at tables for 2! Overall not too bad
Took my husband here for his birthday. The food was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond. Will definitely be back.
Food was amazing. Service was a bit slow to begin with. Otherwise amazing
Three out of four meals arrived on time, one of our party had to wait for a main, my burger was cold which I didn't enjoy so left most of my main meal, the service was good, I will try here again hoping the food is better.
First time at the Rotunda Bar and would definitely recommend. Food was excellent, Haggis and Black Pudding Bon Bon's were amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. 10 / 10
First time eating at the Bar & Diner and i was impressed, I would not hesitate to book again
Excellent food and very friendly staff. Quick service
I was very disappointed, limited pre theatre menu and not much choice for drinks for children. Starter arrived cold on the inside and hot on the outside. This put me off waiting for my main meals so we paid for the drinks and left.
Starters were fine but main courses terrible. Chile con carne rice was swimming in bed of water and carne was dry and bland. Haddock and chips looked like they were half cooked and sure enough the meal was inedible. No point having these things on the menu if this is what is served.
Excellent night out at the comedy club, food and service was first class.
Quick efficiency service even though the place was very busy. Food was good quality
Poor service, waiting too long for drinks and food. One main meal sent back. Had ordered secong round of drinks and desserts which were not recieved. Bill also wrong. Will not return.
Booked this for the first time as it was close to the SSE Hydro. We had 2 courses each and for 3 of us with 5 drinks between us, it was £64 which I though was not the best deal.
We ordered and our order was mixed up despite us telling them waitress who was having was when she brought it to the table. Our mains were lovely though.
Dessert was very strange....ordered 2 hot chocolate fudge cakes and got 2 cold chocolate cakes. As we were leaving for our show soon after, we didn't have time to ask for it to be replaced. My friend ordered Ben and Jerry's ice cream and a large tub of it was placed in front of her with no bowl. What restaurant serves ice cream up like that?! She had to ask for a bowl. It was such a waste as she couldn't eat all that. I think that was ridiculous serving up that for dessert.
I would return only if I was going to a show and remember not to order the ice cream. The food was overall really nice and the service was good.
Great place and cannot fault the food. Excellent value and the staff extremely helpful. Will be back!
Great place to eat before going to a show will be back again
The adult burgers were barely edible. The meat tasted cheap and spongy. There was no slaw served with them as detailed on the menu.
