Chips & Salsa
Crispy corn tortilla chips with zesty salsa norteña
Since 1984, we have used our founder, Josefina Howard's original recipe. Served with fresh vegetables
Haven't been to this place in awhile b/c of COVID. The menu has been revamped, but they kept the classics. It was a wonderful as always, but we also got to try some new dishes.
Haven’t not eaten at this location for quite a while. Food was as great as ever. Shrimp ceviche and then grilled shrimp main course. Both were excellent. Service was great. Ambience was good too. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.
The guacamole had not taste and was overfilled with onions. The waiter gave me a grocery plastic bag instead of a proper paper bag like everyone else had.
The bathroom was filthy. There was no toilet tissue, the entire counter was wet, trash cans were full, toilet paper was on the seats.
The food was good and the service was fair , overall decent experience.
I have always had a wonderful experience at Rosa Mexicano however, today was awful. My daughter had come in from out of town and I wanted to take her to lunch for her birthday, she asked to go to Rosa Mexicano. It was hot in the restaurant because the doors were open so servers could move easily from inside to outside. The heat and the flies turned out to be the least is the problems. We had a server who was unprepared. After being at the table for an hour he returned only to ask if we had already placed our order, we had but he had failed to place the order. We decided to just have an appetizer. It arrived 30 minutes later and it was cold. I paid for the drinks and left. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at the restaurant. Makes me wonder if I will return. Post pandemic things have certainly changed.
This isn't my first time at Rosa Mexicano so I know how busy they can get, but the service that I received (or the lack there of) was the worst that I have ever experienced. When I first got seated the hostess let me know that my waiter had quite a few tables so I was being very patient. The waiter walked pass me multiple times checking on all of his other tables, but didn't even approach me until after about 15mins of me just sitting there. He walked up to me and said, "I saw you sitting here so I figured I would just come see if you needed help." I was so confused, but I proceeded to give him my entire order so I didn't have to wait any longer. My food came out very fast, but when my guacamole was brought out he never brought my chips and salsa, and I was sitting there eating with nothing to drink. Everyone around me had water and was being asked if they needed anything, but I didn't see my waiter since I placed my order. I was politely trying to get the manager's attention, but he ignored me. I know he heard me because he turned around but didn't acknowledge me (everyone around me even saw it) and continued to walk back to the front to do nothing. Luckily, a guy at the table next to me was able to get someone else's attention and I had them get me water and my chips and salsa. I ordered the bottomless margaritas and my waiter didn't bring me one until I was already done eating (the wrong one at that). At that point I was just ready to go, but the waiter made that impossible since I had to wait so long just for him to come back to my table
They are charging for everything now.
Before they would give chips and salsa free now they are charging, plates that use to have rice and beans are now charging it as extra.
Good Food, Good Vibes, Friendly Staff, I would recommend
Food was OK, no patio seating due to lack of servers, which I understand. Food was fine, overpriced because of location.
Flies indoor everywhere, tables tops are weathered and old, no paper menu's, chips and salsa like you bought at a grocery store, 3 small tacos for $20. What can I say, first and last time here.
The margaritas were great! Loved the guacamole which is freshly made and the pork shank was fantastic!
Our server Santa was great as was the young man who was clearing the tables. Our glasses were dirty and both she and he took care of it quickly. The drinks were great and Santa was insightful and explained the details of each different meal we ordered. Did I say that the drinks were great! We had sangria, frozen margaritas mojitos and others for our table. Kudos to the bartender.
Good food and drinks. Nice atmosphere. Servers were great.
I went to this restaurant on a date with someone who spoke highly of her first experience. When we were seated our server was hard to hear and understand. We both ordered drinks but he didn’t remember to bring my drink. We had to ask for service from another service who was very helpful and informative of the menu. The meal I ordered wasn’t quite what I was expecting. The food was tasteful, but the meal I ordered was less than I expected. I ordered the burger, that I thought would at least fill the bun, that did not come with guacamole on it as it stated in the description.
The chips and salsa was good, and the side guacamole we ordered was nicely plated. Not sure if it was worth $13. Drinks were good. All around a decent experience, but could’ve bee better
Food was amazing staff and management very attentive plus the drinks will have you feeling amazing
I felt disappointed. The service made the other infractions tolerable. The food was not as hot as it should be from my perspective. In addition the floors were dirty and the table seems to have some sort of compounded stank that grips hold of your body parts, utensils, and dishes. It just doesn’t feel clean even though wiped down. You can see the cloud overcast of the top and it’s flat out gross. Again, great service but feel bad that little things easily fixed are ruining my experience. It’s low hanging fruit… fix it.
My server Joseph was very understanding, friendly, and great at his job and service. He was very helpful and accommodating!
Food was fine, but the price did not reflect that. Obviously you paying for location more than anything else (as can be expected).
With that said - the house margaritas were the best I’ve had!
Service was slow, food was not good, bad food was expensive.
The restaurant was dirty, food was not up to Rosa Mexicano standards and service was terrible. Went with family to this restaurants and starting from the table to silverware to plates, everything was dirty. We ordered their famous guac and it wasn't fresh and the portion was not standard. Then we ordered queso and it was definitely not edible. The Rosa Mexicano brand of restaurants are generally really good, but this one is not up to their standards. Definitely wouldn't recommend visiting this restaurant.
The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS from the appetizers to dessert - this restaurant DID NOT disappoint.
Went here to celebrate our anniversary. Upon sitting, our table was filthy. The server cleaned it off with a semi-wet napkin. The entire table was still sticky. Seems like years of stuck on food. Would think the cleaning process would be better since we are still in a pandemic. We had to request chips and salsa where it was automatic with other tables. The food was okay but not what I remembered from years past. Asked for a box, was brought those paper containers. Asked if there was anything else because I saw the server give another table plastic ones and he said it was all he had. Asked the other server and he brought me plastic. When I was going to put my food in the paper container, there were two dead flies in the box. I almost put my food in there, yuck. Also the ledge next to us overlooking the harbor was so dusty as well as the rafters. I would not recommend a friend going back right now. Maybe it's the rush to open for the holiday weekend? 🤷🏾♀️
Restaurant is disgusting at a stealthy. Tables are sticky as if they were never cleaned and there was cobwebs and dust hanging from the top structures
I think some restaurants are having a tough time restarting after the COVID shutdown. The food was cold and the service was crazy slow. Very sweet waitress and front of house. Hopefully they will get it together and bring back their usually good experience.
Great food, great place. The spicy guacamole and salsa are delicious! We miss the table side guacamole experience due to COVID, but hope it returns.
Very enjoyable experience. Great service.
I reserved a hotel room just so I could enjoy the La Suprema margaritas at Rosa Mexicano. They are the best. The guacamole, fish tacos (fried) and esquites are also delicious and favorites of mine. I'm never disappointed at Rosa Mexicano. I prefer dining in the bar. The staff is very pleasant and attentive.
The food wasn't great. The drinks were wrong. The wait staff was great.
I typically visit this place for drinks and the view. Neither seem to disappoint
Amazing view, service and food. I can’t wait to dine in again.
Great as usual
The staff works very hard and often work very understaffed. The views are nice if you're near a window that faces the water. Sadly, the food is better at Chipotle just below this restaurant. The portions aren't great but okay sized. The tables are wood but so super sticky that every plate, glass and utensil stuck to it like glue.
Poor service, waiter was rude and seemed very inexperienced for a restaurant at this level.
Our server, Joseph, was great! Attentive, friendly and great customer service. Of course, food was also delicious. The only thing they could improve upon is the spice level of the guac - which was still delicious! Love Rosa - will most certainly be back.
