A fun, energetic tribute to American Southern cuisine. Our dining room is bustling with high-energy just like our great Magic City. Our menus focus on local distilleries and local farms throughout Alabama; the menu is ever changing with only the freshest products on hand. Our dishes are whimsical yet elegant with a feeling of comfort to them.
Roots & Revelry departs from the norm by modernizing fine dining. It’s haute with casual undertones, southern with international influences.

Our Patio is not covered. Patio is weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate you inside but can not guarantee a table.

Reservations preferred, walk-ins accepted based on availability.

We are allotting 1 1/2 hours for parties of two, 2 hours for parties of four, 2 1/2 hours for parties six or more. Please call us at 205-730-1907 or email home@roots-revelry.com for any parties over six guests.

Second time my friends and I have been here for brunch and it has been great both times. Chicken and Waffles were delicious as was the West Indies Salad Avocado Toast. Beautiful decor and very friendly service!

The food was delicious. Very upscale brunch. Nothing too traditional, which is what I was looking for. The restaurant is very nice and the patio is inviting. Going into the building looks like a shelter. Very undesirable looking but the restaurant is on the 2nd floor and it's like you've entered another world. The elevators were broken which caused people to walk up to the 2nd floor or down from the 2nd floor to the lobby.

We really didn’t know what to expect but it exceeded our expectations. The service was good and the food was very good! The street in front of the building was nasty and should be cleaned up which is not the fault of the restaurant. The city needs to do better to keep human excrement off the streets.

It was a first time experience here last night for my 24th birthday dinner and everything was perfect. Zachary and Amber, both, we’re exceptional! My family and I enjoyed everything from drinks, appetizers, entrees and three of their desserts. They were attentive and informative and we’ll be back!

Zach helped me get an engagement dinner together and was amazing from the start!! We had the best time, the food was amazing, we got lots of pictures and we even met the chef!!

Everything was excellent! Our food was amazing and the atmosphere is so cool! Chef Robert even came to check in on us. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

If we could give more than 5-stars, we would! Where can we start? We were planning a post-wedding dinner from afar…we were in Texas, newlyweds were coming in from Hawaii & the dinner was happening in Alabama. Traci was a lifesaver in helping us coordinate beforehand and upon our arrival in Birmingham, she helped us pull everything together. Sous Chef Brian and Bartender Zach were our other rockstars of the evening, from helping with the cake, to preparing a customized, delicious menu for our event, to designing artistic and tasty signature cocktails for the newlyweds - they all helped make the night so memorable. If they can do all of this for us within just two weeks and without meeting us in-person ahead of time, I can’t even imagine how wonderfully they treat the locals. It was truly an outstanding experience, and the combination of French and Southern cuisine were spot on. The atmosphere, the food and drinks, the staff, and even the valet parking, were great. The night was easy, fun, tasty and memorable. If you’re looking for a unique restaurant for a night out or for a special event, this is the place!

Booked a brunch for my wife and I. Quickly seated and order taken. Great adult drink options we each had one and were happy. Ordered off the menu, food was fast and good portion. Booked under a special occasion - birthday - nothing was special about the reservation or visit. We will go again.

I travel often for business and leisure. I’m so happy this place came highly recommended by a local. The atmosphere was just perfect. The staff was attentive and welcoming. The meal was delicious and aesthetically pleasing. I had the pork chop for dinner, it’s the south, after all! But… but… my absolute fav was the crème brûlée… 🍮 omg! Yummy! 😋 can’t wait to bring my family here next time we visit. No place is perfect, there was a bit of noise but not enough for it to lower my rating. I just know some people want total peace. I don’t mind controlled volume. Will be back with family!
