Muy MALA!!! Decepcionante. Vidrios rotos debajo de la mesa casi nos corta hubo que pedir que limpiaran El sitio desaseado los asientos mojados. Sucias las mesas La comida mala mala todo frito y empapado en aceite y que tempura era todo grasa Las chips viejas y ya no pudimos comer más! El precio ALTO para la poca calidad Nos dejaron 20’ a la entrada porque no encontraban la reserva igual en restaurant. El nivel de la gente bajo!!! De verdad pensé que era sitio TOP pero muy decepcionante Los meseros atendieron bien pero de verdad no volvería jamás

This place is absolutely beautiful. Very friendly staff, top notch food, great music and ambience. Would recommend to anybody staying in the area as a great way to experience Tulum the Papaya Playa Project way!

We ate here several times. Most dishes were good, a few were off the mark. Service was a little slow or forgetful at times. Marco was amazing, and once we found him, we requested him every time.

A beautiful restaurant. A low key vibe with live music and an intimate experience. So many places to take amazing pictures and the food was absolutely delicious. They require a $75 minimum charge per person so take that into consideration when planning to visit.

Unique and relaxing dining experience punctuated by a surprise appearance by newborn Loggerhead Sea Turtles. The service was excellent without being overbearing, drinks were inventive and catch of the day-Sea Bass-was delicious!

The setting of Papaya Playa Project is stunning and the approach from the road is full of unique art and charm. But it was a massive disappointment from start to finish. My seat was wet so I asked two different servers for a towel (it’s a beach resort) and none arrived. Our cocktails were literally mock tails- nothing but fruit juice. It’s not like it was vodka it was a Mezcal drink, mezcal is smoky you’d know if it was there. The music detracted from the view. Then our food came out all wrong - it was clear we got some of our order mixed with the order from another table, so our hamburgers for the kids were wrong. I will say my raw shrimp and sea urchin was outstanding! Delicious! But the Caesar was actually made with Swiss chard and the some of the roasted oysters had no oyster in the shell! They did comp the Caesar and one drink, and gave us dessert. They were very nice, but it’s a lot to pay for a crappy experience.

Fui con mi amigo la semana pasada, ¡nos atendieron media hora después de que nos sentara en nuestra mesa la hostess!!! I had to get up and ask a server to take our orders at our table. That was the only way they decided to take our orders. There were parties of blonde, White girls that arrived after my friend and I, and they were given priority service and great treatment. Was it because my friend and I are Mexican and look darker? I wouldn’t be surprised considering how elitist Papaya Playa is. We spent over $70 USD on food/drinks that moment and the night before we both spent $100 USD each on cover charges to get into the party at Papaya Playa Project, and at the beginning of our trip we spent over $150 USD as well at their restaurant. Even after all that, the server told my friend and I that we were required to tip at least 15%! I refused of course after how terrible the service was (and wasn’t even busy). I offered 10% and the server got súper upset at us, but I mean, they offered everyone who arrived after us a great dining experience, except us. Not to mention that they got our order wrong and forgot to bring out the French toast. The server ended up not wanting a tip at all, so that was on him. The food was good though. I’m still going back, but I expect better treatment, especially after all the money that I have spent with them in the past. Hopefully they can learn from this experience to treat everyone fairly.

One of their staff made a mistake in changing our dinner time from 5:45 pm to 6:30 pm - they forgot to enter the update in the system for the PPP restaurant even though they gave us written confirmation. Also, they made another mistake in taking the reservation in the first place because it was a VIP event night - they told us to leave when we arrived at the hotel entrance. But I insisted because it was unfair to us, since these were their errors, and we drove from far away for this dinner. They wanted to send us back just a like that, not even let us enter for a simple dinner and drink. So I asked the several people who were there saying no to us to call their top manager - she arrived and she was wonderful and quick in finding a solution. They let us in to be able to have a delicious dinner and drinks in the lounge area. Thank you very much to the manager, whose name we do not know. The ambiance, decor and service are great. The cuisine is absolutely delicious. Pls note: Saturday nights are VIP events only with separate pricing and reservation process from the rest of the week.

This place was by easily my FAVE place in Tulum. You must go here if you’re vacationing or just in town. It’s the spot for music, vibes, food, and drank. It’s 5 star ambience and atmosphere. Plus the prettiest gender friendly bathroom ever. Loved it all, gracias papaya playa project 🥰

I do t think that I ever wrote a bad review I’m my life but felt like I have to after this experience we had. Had the worst experience there. It’s my third time in tulum and we booked the restaurant to be able the feel the ambiance in the hotel and potentially book a room for January. From the moment we arrived the bouncer didn’t let us in the hotel saying that the place was pack at 3:30pm so even with our reservation I had to argue with them for 20 min to let us in because we drove all the way from the other side of the beach. After we got in and told the host what happened she said no worry we will take care of you while she was on the phone for few min while we are waiting. We got in and the place was half empty so we set down in a table that was shaded. 8 min pass by and they let us know that the table was to big for us while the place is empty and they moved us to a smaller table lol. No big deal. And then after that we order tacos and salad that took them 55 min to bring and the food was very not spacial compare to other places in tulum. So do not waste your time going there this place is old with old management that made there money already and don’t really care. There are so much more in tulum then this place.

The ambience and space is nice, but by far the worst food we had during our entire 10-day stay in Tulúm-- menu was bizarre, and the taste was just terrible. Could not even finish one of the dishes entirely. With the exception of our hostess, who was wonderful, the service was a disaster as well. It took 45 minutes to receive our check, and throughout the entire meal we felt invisible to the many servers walking around the dining area. We were shocked to see the restaurant so empty when we arrived given how difficult it was to get a reservation, but quickly began to understand why throughout our meal. Would not recommend at all, and would encourage hotel guests to find food options elsewhere.

Food was incredible. Everything we ordered was amazing, this was probably my favorite nice dining experience in Tulum. We went at night so it was dark but we still got the sounds of the ocean but I recommend going in the evening or during the day so you have the view of the ocean. Also, definitely get dessert.
