Recommended by a friend, ICU was a true gem of a find. Great decor, menu was awesome, service consistently top notch, however our biggest surprise was the presentation of the food. Unlike any Mexican fare I have had. Already we are debating about returning. I highly recommend this great restaurant.

Al ser un lugar pequeño el ruido es mucho ya que hay gente que no sabe hablar bajo, pero en general la comida es muy buena, pero nuestro único malestar fue el ruido.

The food is always fantastic. The service is great, attentive but not overbearing. The Negroni cocktails were on point. My only suggestion would be a slightly more varied wine list money wise. I mean, I like good wine but would love a few more less expensive options under a thousand pesos. Already can’t wait to go back!
The humble exterior belies the serene and inviting interior. And then the food starts to arrive! Pleasant and attentive wait staff without being overbearing. BEAUTIFUL dishes of food clearly made with great artistic care. Everything was just the right temperature and so fresh. Every dish seemed to be a unique blend of ingredients that always hit the mark.

Food great. Service great. Expensive for PV. Entire wine list was Mexican wine and not cheap, and corkage was 500 pesos (not acceptable). If corkage was 250 pesos I would eat there regularly.
Great cocktails and great food. We ordered the course menu + wine pairing and were surprised by the creativity and deliciousness of every course. Great value for the price.
The prefix for New Year's Eve was a collection of some of my favorite items from the general menu. The wine pairing were spot on as well. Well done Icu - again!

We had a very lovey meal of contemporary and refined Mexican cuisine. The cocktails were great too. We recommend this fine dining restaurant for gourmands and foodies. Our agreed upon best dish from the prix fixe tasting menu was the tamal de marlin in a delicious sauce that had only a touch of chipotle.

All staff members were attentive and accommodating. The bartender made a delicious off-menu drink for my mom, handling his craft with care. The chef allowed my dad to take a selfie with him, and was gracious and kind. Wait staff went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember! Highly recommend.
We’ve been dining in Puerto Vallarta for more than 20 years. This is the finest gourmet restaurant in PV. We have recommended to friends and family and look forward to a return visit soon!

Lovely small restaurant, slightly off the beaten track. To start, Icu’ serves a delicious salsa with fresh mini tortillas. Next came an amuse-bouche of chickpea emulsion. It was outstanding. I wanted a whole bowl!!! We ordered 2 appetizers, beet salad and foie gras. The salad was very disappointing. Although avocados are one of my favorite foods it was not complimentary to the beets. The beets with pink pine nuts were nice, but nothing special. The seared foie gras, on the other hand, was outstanding. Served with a berry compote, strawberries and buttered toast slivers , it was perfect.
For the main course I had dorado (mahi-mahi). Served on a bed of tomato chorizo mash, it was tender, moist and mild. Exactly as it should be. The tomato chorizo added just enough of “savory” to make this dish outstanding. A carrot purée on the side was creamy and flavorful. I could have eaten a bowl of this as well!
Icu’ is a sparkling little diamond on the Vallarta food scene. I wish I could rate it 5 stars. The beets were just too disappointing. Secondly, the noise level was high. There were only 4 other tables dining while we were there, and we had to shout our conversation. I could barely hear what sounded like lovely background music. That was a shame.
I will most certainly dine there again. The service was excellent and the majority of our selections were superb.
Restaurant Icu continues to WOW me. I tried them several times last year and they were impressive. I was so happy to see that they survived the slow time in Vallarta and continue to provide creative and delicious food. The zucchini tostada continues to be my favorite appetizer while the foi gras was perfectly seared and presented. The black bean soup is as good as any you will find. Thank you Icu!

We absolutely loved our night at Icu - food was amazing and fantastic service. Loved the variety of food and cocktails. The menu is a set menu of 5 courses and changes often but loved the chef choices and exciting presentation.
Icú has been one of my favorite restaurants in Vallarta since it opened. The "thing" is multi-course tasting menus, which change monthly. The food is creative as ever--our favorite was the smoked marlin tamal in a tomato-chipotle sauce. The service is very attentive, and subdued lighting and intimate space make for a very charming ambiance. It had been six months since I was last there, and I was shocked to see that their prices have gone up exponentially. The 5-course tasting menu used to be around $500 pesos but has gone up to $950 pesos, which is very steep for Vallarta. Those are USA prices. That may explain why we were the only people there on a Friday night. The wine list also has been marked up considerably. There are now only 2-3 bottles of wine for less than 50 dollars, which, again, is very pricey for Vallarta. For instance, a bottle of wine that I can get at Costco for under $200 pesos was priced around $750 pesos. I love the food and the ambiance; however, based on the price increases, I will have to rethink whether I will return or recommend this restaurant to friends.

Our 5 course tasting menu price its been $950 pesos since the first day we open almost 2 years ago, we have not increased it. On our wine list we have 17 bottles under the $50USD mark, which is roughly the 20% of our wine list. We look forward to have you again on our restaurant. Thank you!

Absolutely a hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta. You are immediately swept away into another world as soon as you enter through the door. Can notrave enough about the creativity and expertise in both the service & quality of food. We had the 9 course tasting menu with wine pairing and I'm still savoring some of those flavors.
Fantastic service, drink selection and food. I reluctantly tried some fish that I do not like, but I loved it here! Every dish was great, from start to finish. Yes, it is pricey for Mexico, but less than half of what I’d expect to pay at home in Vancouver. This restaurant’s cuisine could compete easily with anything in Whistler, BC.

Me decepcionó, no disfruté la comida al máximo, ya que el porkbelly no estaba dorado en la piel y la grasa se percibía mucho; el atún tenía demasiada soya así como su acompañamiento. Al día siguiente tuve dolor de estómago.
Todo exquisitamente preparado. Las carnes son tan tiernas que se deshacen en la boca. Muy recomendable. Voy a regresar.
