This was an exceptionally great restaurant. My husband and I had dinner here and we were taking through a 10 course, plus wine pairings, cultural food journey of Mexico. It was fantastic. I cannot recommend ICU enough.
This restaurant could hold it's own with any restaurant in San Francisco. And it cost about 1/4 of what the equivalent meal would have cost in San Francisco. It was mid week in the low season so it was extremely quiet, only 3 tables occupied... including us, so the ambiance was a little awkward. And they were training a new server. Even with that, the food was soooo good and it was so unique for PV. Think Gary Denko in SF in menu, food quality and patrons: You have to know about it, special occasion locals (the other tables spoke Spanish), and in the know visitors (us). I have exceptionally high standards for risotto - and theirs tied for 2nd best ever.

Comida deliciosa, servicio impecable. Probamos el menú de degustación de 9 tiempos y cada uno de ellos estuvo perfecto, era una explosión de sabores en el paladar. Novedoso y Gourmet. Bebidas preparadas de la casa muy ricas. Totalmente recomendable.
The staff couldn’t have been more gracious or accommodating. Everything we ordered was cooke and presented to perfection. ICU truly is one of Vallarta’s best restaurants! I live here and eat out oten and being from the San Francisco Bay, I’ve eaten in many top rated restaurants. ICU could certainly hold its own against all of them, including the French Laundry! A neighborhood gem hidden inside a nondescript building.
Buena la comida, espero que tengan mucho exito, a pensar de que la ciudad tiene buenos restaurantes, no hay muchos tan atrevidos como ICU que tiene mucho potencial, fuera de lo ordinario, realmente es para paladares que saben degustar.

Me dedico actualmente a la hotelería y trabajé mucho años en el Área de AYB, tanto como Chef Ejecutivo como Directora de AYB (estoy en Vidanta desde hace 14 años). Excelente comida y servicio. Mi único comentario sería bajar un poco la porción del risotto, que aunque está delicioso, te deja ya con el estomago lleno y no logras disfrutar al 100 los platillos que siguen. Excelente maridaje. Felicidades!

Vale la pena que incluyan mas platillos con variedad de verduras, la ensalada de betabeles baby estaba suculenta, seria delicioso probar otras opciones vegetarianas. This is a new hidden gem in PV. Ambiance, service, and food is outstanding. Definitely the best octopus (“Pulpo Pibil”) I have tried around town or any other restaurant. Just an overall delightfull experience!

Atendimos a in eventos el cual trataba de un menú 9 tiempos hechos por Icú y Hiroshi (un chef invitado). La combinación de lo japonés con lo mexicano fue increíble. Recomendado 100%.
Delicious food with great presentation. The chefs are extremely creative in the way they combine unexpected ingredientes and textures to create a unique dining experience. The cocktails, all of which use Mexican spirits, are delicious, fresh and fun. The place has a contemporary, minimalist design that provides the perfect setting for the food. Don't miss ICU while in Puerto Vallarta!

Amazing and creative food! A perfect dining experience
Elegant Dining in a small romantic atmosphere. Worth knowing that Chef Mauricio was willing to make us a Caesar Salad from scratch(egg +) which was not on the menu. The presentation and quality of his food served(Baby rack of Lamb with mint mole,lentils & veggies and a NY Ribeye with black bean sauce, grilled onions & cactus) was excellent. I was impressed that he also has had training in Paris in addition to knowledge of NY restaurants including Brooklyn's Peter Luger's steakhouse. Good wine list but expensive. All of TripAvisor's reviews to date are either Excellent or Very Good . Indulge your Senses!
Whole experience was excellent but our favorite was the scallops and the snapper. We also had a candied habanero served with vanilla ice cream for desert that was delicious. Service was excellent also.

ICU is one of our favorite places to dine while we were in Puerto Vallarta. You will not be disappointed once you enter the front door. Great wine collection from Mexico and all local ingredients which the chef will tell you.
We live in Puerto Vallarta and have dined at many of the “best” restaurants in town. This newcomer is a definite addition to that list and may in fact top it. The restaurant can be tricky to find, housed in a plain, windowless building with just a small “ICU” sign next to a wooden door. Behind the door, the space is modern yet intimate and the personal service from the knowledgeable owners is both friendly and professional. They mix a great cocktail and served me one of the best Cosmopolitans I have had in PV. The cocktail list includes a selection of drinks made from Mexican spirits, and the wine list is comprised entirely of Mexican wines. The a la carte menu is tempting and creative, but we opted for the 5-course tasting menu with accompanying wine pairings – and are glad we did!
The courses were beautifully plated, creative, perfectly sized and, most importantly, delicious! The service was excellent, with the courses well-timed and well explained. The drink pairings were excellent! We had beets 3 ways, aguachile with a squid ink sauce, mahi-mahi with corn and cauliflower carpaccio (my favorite dish of the night), pork belly, and a molten chocolate desert (paired with a tequila – which really worked well).
Two huge thumbs up for this restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!
