this restaurant has 2 set menus. We took the 8 course menu and every single dish was beautiful and a true taste sensation. The wine list is reasonably priced. The service is very helpful and friendly and the Dutch Chef is an absolute star! We will be back soon.

Management taking themselves way too seriously! It's a wonderful show of gourmet cooking, artful serving, but lighten up, we were there for fun, new experience, not to be super cool. Had a bit of acid stomach also, afterward.

This place is worth going out of your way for. We were blow away by the 5 course tasting menu, which really felt like 10 because there was something small between each! Its new, so go there before everyone else finds out about it and the lines get too long!

Food is amazing, perfect date spot! Staff is very attentive and I love the open kitchen. Definitely do the 8 course tasting menu.

What a wonderful and unexpected experience. Watching master chefs prepare your food right in front of your eyes was incredible. Then the taste of the food. Oh my. Food was excellent. The Chef seems to acknowledge the sweeter side of ones pallet and I'm glad he did. My wife and I had a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing what the chef has in store next season!

Counter seating worked well as we were only two. A bonus was we sat right where the chef was working. The food is creative, beautiful, and delicious. The small plates model is especially satisfying to those of us who want to have as many unique bites as possible. Bravo!

The food is amazing.
Sitting is all around a large bar with the chefs working inside of it.
Creative, inventice food. Well worth the price.

Wonderful cuisine at a great price. As others have said, eat here before something changes. Chef Marcos is enticing to watch and he is very particular and precise on his presentations. The only thing I would suggest is slowing down the pace. Chef has everything timed, but our courses came out when we weren't finished with the one we were currently eating. We asked them to slow things down, and they did, but I think it stressed them out a bit. There are only 18 seats and I am sure part of this is ensuring they accommodate everyone's reservations. Next time I will put in the notes section of our reservation that we like to eat slowly.

Interesting new restaurant. Very small space and set up like a sushi bar but with a narrow open kitchen and unfortunately bad seating set up for professional level service by staff. Nice folks and very friendly but given the price point of their weekend 8 course tasting menu $125/per - once you add wine and service fees it really warrants a more professional service level atmosphere. Don't have an open kitchen if your chefs don't have time or interest in speaking ! And don't have the staff squeezed back/forth in front and behind customers for service between the many dishes. They don't have a fixed seating time (they should seriously consider this to remedy the intrusive nature of their service movements through the entire meal) - which could address this seeming chaos all around us at dinner. We had a group of four and we were cluttered at the end near the entry/exit to the prep area, dish washer room and bathroom. NOT GOOD. Gerally very solid food (all seafood and the one fois gras dish) but odd plating of the one meat dish. Clearly a seafood centered menu and they do that very well.... IMHO they need to step up the professionalism of the way the service staff work in that narrow and awkward dinner space. Didn't feel like a $700+ evening for the 4 of us.....

I went with my best friend on a Saturday night and we lucked into two of the eighteen seats in the restaurant (all at the kitchen bar). On the weekend, you can only order from the tasting menu, so we chose the eight (rather than five) course version to try more options. All of the courses were fantastic (as I am a pescetarian, they allowed one substitution, but not a second, for the two meat courses). Although not a cheap evening out (for the two of us, with wine, the bill was around $400), it's a really memorable and lovely place for a fantastic meal.

Loved everything about this restaurant. We did the 5-course tasting menu. It was just great.
Every course is a work of art. Great service and great wine list. Will be retuning in August.

Fantastic well thought out flavors! The Curry Bretagne, Crab, Lamb, Halibut were delicious. Great small space with the chef right in front of you!

Came here for b-day dinner date. We went with the 5 course tasting menu and it was great. L-Shaped bar seating around the open kitchen, so you are watching the chef prepare everyone's courses throughout the night! I asked for dairy-free substitutions and still had a great meal. Compared my dairy-free substitutions to my dining partner's and everything was still delicious. Everything was beautifully presented/plated and the flavors are very inventive and delicious. A real treat.

In a NYC landscape full of overpriced tasting menus leaving you hungry after emptying your wallet, Ukiyo is the opposite. It is a great value, the portions were perfect, I didn’t leave feeling hungry but not too full either. The wine list is very unique with regions and countries hard pressed to find elsewhere and at an EXTREME VALUE (try finding Montrachet under $200 anywhere). Get in before it fills up.

My husband and I both agreed for once that the food was outstanding. There was nothing to complain about . We drank sake and wine and they have a lovely choice of selections. We ordered the 5 course which ended up to be a 8 course with the chef’s specials. The portions are small but it was more than we could eat at the end of the course. Five stars really!!!

Another counter-service restaurant with precious presentions. Appetizer sized dishes are assembled a la minute with little actual cooking involved, but all rather fat-laden (creams, foams, hollandaise, foie gras). Favorite menu item was the Tomato Structures.

Incredible. Hats off to the chef for creating a wonderful ambiance and a fabulous tasting menu. I wouldn't call the cuisine "French" but all of the dishes were full of flavor.
