Good steak quality despite slightly on the dry side. Wine recommended was great. Fantastic service. Recommended though as far as steak quality goes, Rockpool would be a better choice at a even cheaper price, despite the service provided not as good as Prime.
As a solo diner I was ignored to the point of having to flag down help and also was handed a check without offer of dessert or coffee. I gladly accepted and left disappointed except for a very good overpriced piece of meat.
I travel worldwide as do my executives and this place fronts as a top steak house but missed a huge opportunity. All I assume because I was alone. When I am alone my statutory always matches my exact meal.
We dined at all top Sydney steakhouses during our two week visit. Prime is tied for 1st place. We've dined at Prime before and the experience is essentially the same. On each visit the server became overwhelmed (on a slow night with about 50-60% tables occupied). The bar and management staff ultimately came to the rescue. We were in no hurry, and service is not an Aussie specialty anywhere except one other Sydney steakhouse, so not a problem. At least the service level was not unexpected. Food was very good. Be sure to avoid the toilets just outside the restaurant (in favor of the ones inside) as they were very far below acceptable. Otherwise, the building is beautiful even with the exterior under renovation.
Waiter couldn’t wait to place the bill on the table before the meal was even done. Had the feeling that we were being chased away even though there was no later seating. Just bad service.

The language barrier between our waiter and us ruined the communication
We were left for 40 mins without a dessert menu after having to ask two different servers and the proceeded to ask for bill twice and waited again
I expect so much more from a restaurant that has such a strong reputation

I ate Angus' T - bone steak but it was very delicious. It took a while but I am satisfied because I ate delicious items. It is good for travelers who do not have time if there is a system that can reserve a menu in advance and go before baking up?
Good ambience and the food was good. However, the service is not what I expected for a restaurant like this. The waiter’s description of dishes were either ‘beautiful’ or ‘perfect’. The sommelier that came to our table was not very confident in recommending wine and you could barley hear him- and I have good hearing.
Overall, it was good food but the service definitely would turn people away.

Fantastically well prepared and cooked steak. Great wine selection too. Pricey for someone visiting from the UK, but food just costs more here so for the quality it's not unreasonable for this level in Sydney.
Tried their Yearling sirloin and I absolutely love it. The wait for the food is long as mentioned multiple times by the wait staff and "warning" on the website itself. However, if you have multiple friends to talk to, it's not that bad. Not a good place for dining alone though.
Nice food, but the quality of the steak doesn't justify how expensive it is
We noticed the restaurant after googled the local TOP 10 Sydney steak house as well as recommended by our couch for "bridge climbing". It was a great experience from the first greeting to the end. Steaks are great with good price value, Wine is not overcharge; Services are all great, nice and focused crews who made us a great evening. We are not very impressed by the first trip to visit Sydney but we would definitely want to come back to visit the restaurant.

This was our second visit to Prime Steakhouse and we decided to return after our first experience and given that this was going to be our last evening in Sydney prior to returning to the US. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the maple glazed pork loin for a second time and I opted to have the yearling prime filet after having the black angus one on our first visit. I actually enjoyed the yearling prime filet a bit better due to texture but both were very good, especially with the red wine jus. I also opted to add on the scallops and prawns (as listed in the menu) and they added to the meal perfectly. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant so that just added to the overall experience. This is by no means an inexpensive restaurant but for special occasions it is well worth it.
The food was phenomenal with 3 doz oysters and aged waygu beef how can you go wrong although there are cheaper options in terms of restaurants the quality will be remembered long after the price has been forgotten.
Arguably the best steakhouse in Sydney! Plus very good service...
