Gorgeous view, food was just okay. Portions were horrible, so pricey for what you get!!
Excellent food and wonderful view from the patio. Waiter was friendly and helpful.
Really excellent service from Derek, pleasurable meal in a nice setting. Sushi and main course was fresh and well prepared.
Food unsatisfactory. Fish tasted fishy and was served raw. Filet minion tasted horrible. Incorrect sides came
With most of the items ordered. The kids meals were the best. Service poor and took way too long to get drinks or any extra services. Wait staff very nice however clearly the restaurant is understaffed and overbooked. Big disappointment given the amount of money spent.
The service was great. We had our 95yr old grandmother with us and the staff was very accommodating to her needs. The food was tasty and everyone felt satisfied. Great spot and we were very happy with the whole experience. We will definitely be back.
We understand that we are living with a pandemic, but we missed enjoying the oysters that Peohe's is famous for and many of the other standard Peohe's menu items, and the facilities were somewhat lacking - no towels in the men's restroom - seems that things are being left unattended and the overall ambiance was just not the same.
The scenery was the best part of the dinner. There was shells in the lobster bisque, the entrees were good though. Had to ask for crackers for crab legs. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and never received it. We weren’t charged for it, but was looking forward to trying it because it was recommended. I felt the waitress wasn’t attentive and engaged. I also was there to celebrate a birthday and it was overlooked.
Después de todo pudimos disfrutar pero el servicio fue muy lento y nos cambiaron el menú tres veces, lo cual hizo que fuera más tardado y no la experiencia que buscábamos para ese precio. La vista espectacular !!!
Everything was perfect. Food, service (Colin was great...I think that was his name... he was the bartender), view. It was terrific. I was visiting from AZ for a wedding and used to live in Coronado many years ago so just wanted to see how it had changed.
The only negative was that we did have to wait for our table. Our reservations were for 2:00 and didn’t get seated til around 2:20.
We made reservations for 7:30 when I thought it was going to be a great birthday dinner, turned out to be a total fail. We didn’t get seated until 8:20, the host was very rude didn’t even acknowledge the fact we were waiting for almost an hour. We order clam chowder which again took forever, at first I thought maybe it’s busy nope the place was a ghost town, I got pomegranate martini was disgusting, minus well should of just ordered cranberry & vodka. Dinner took again 45mins. At this point I was so over the birthday dinner I just wanted to get out of there. This at the end was a $180 meal not worth it at all, worst place ever.
We have been to Peohe's before. The setting with the view of the harbor and downtown San Diego is lovely and the food on this occasion was typically excellent. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. We arrived for our reservation on time but ended up waiting in a line for quite some time in the lobby. There seemed to be only one person seating parties at their tables and each time he took a party to their table he seemed to be gone for a very long time. We were finally seated but had a similar experience with our server. She was very friendly and nice but everything seemed to take a very long time. We ordered a bottle of wine and that took a long time to arrive, at which point the server took our food order. Each food course also took a very long time. I don't know whether the kitchen was badly behind demand or our server was just having a slow night; perhaps a combination of the two. But given the pretty high prices for everything we expected much better, more professional service.
Nice ambiance, beautiful view, a bit pricey. Worth at least 1 visit.
As usual, the food was wonderful and the view was amazing! There was a snafu upon arrival and we ended up waiting about 30 min for our table, even though we DID have reservations! Apparently, it was all about the demand for 'outdoor seating,' and so many people had to wait, some a lot longer than we did. LOVE this place and plan to return soon!
I can recommend this restaurant if you want a sensational view. The server was great. The food was ok. I would not say that I would not come back, but I would come back for the view, not expecting much from the food.
Always a great view of the waterfront of the San Diego Bay sitting out on the patio and enjoying the fish and chips for lunch
Restaurant was beautiful and we were served a anniversary treat. The waiters were a little hard to get a hold of, but overall nice evening. I would absolutely visit this Restaurant again.
its over hyped. Food is okay. one time for me. Interior is nice. COVID safetly is followed.
Used Open Table to reserve which is very easy. The restaurant was clean, outdoor seating was very nice. Food was very good and usual. Service was good.
We had a great table and great food on the San Diego harbor!
The ambiance was amazing our waiter was great. The service was extremely slow. Our food was great outside of the asparagus, which I would never try again. Steak was amazing!!!
seated 20 minutes after reservation. Took longer than usual to place our order.
30th birthday celebration, loved how the restaurant paid attention the reservation details. Restaurant and waitstaff were very friendly and attentive!
Darren, our waiter, did an amazing job!
Great service from David
Sat in the covered patio- wonderful views and pretty quiet. Good food and service.
Lunch was perfect. Great wine the pupu platter was a perfect mix of seafood. The Salmon was cooked perfect. The key lime pie a great finish. The shrimp ricotta very good.
The view is to die for at night. Good service. Didn’t try the sushi bar, but decent seafood.
Lunch on the patio was excellent and the view is very nice. Our server Colin was attentive and very friendly. The lobster roll was delicious with big pieces of lobster. Definitely will return!
Very nice restaurant with great food. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The patio got cold and they moved several heaters to us to make us comfortable so we could continue enjoying the view. Great place.
Location, location, location, and wow, Peohe's wins on all counts!!! Patio dinning only with the pandemic, but that's the only place you want to sit anytime you go. The view is spectacular, looking across San Diego Bay towards downtown, the the weather was ideal. It was the start of "Fish" month, and they offered a special three course meal, all very nice. The lobster bisque was just okay, so maybe try the chowder. The appetizers and mains were great, and very large portions for the main course too. Service, timely, professional, and let us pace the meal to our liking. I always appreciate restaurants where you don't feel rushed, Peohe's is one on those... Great evening, great experience!
One of best views in San Diego! Great food and very relaxing.
Meal was very pricey and the fish was excellent. My only criticism was the side dishes. Very bland rice and veggies. Was supposed to be coconut ginger rice with sautéed veggies. The rice was plain and the veggies were nothing special. For those prices, the entire meal should be excellent.
The service was friendly but inattentive. Never saw the waitress again until we were finished. She did, however, bring our birthday guest a special dessert.
The food was overpriced for what you get, and wasn't as good as I expected. Drinks are great, though.
We had a great time and loved the place. would love to be closer to come back often.
Observing COVID-19 restrictions the staff modified the dining room to give a welcome & calming experience.
Beautiful restaurant with a great view of downtown SD. Front end staff seemed a little stressed and not very engaged. The server was alone working the back patio area. She was slammed with no managerial relief. That's what managers are for, right? Server was very pleasant even though being overwhelmed.
Margarita was great. Food portions are a little lacking for the price. I basically paid $17.50 for a plate full of french fries and 4 shrimp. It was delicious, just underwhelming for the price.
Lastly, the patio's highlight is the SD skyline, BUT there were two large outdoor heaters being stored along the railing - blocking the view. There has to be a better place to store those heaters. If your "draw" is your view of the city.....provide a view of the city!
Overall, nice experience, but seems a bit of a lack of restaurant management experience on that day.
Even though we made reservations on OpenTable it was still a long wait to be seated.
Very nice restaurant. View amazing. Outdoor heaters were very nice. Salmon was very good. Service was acceptable. Servers very nice. Nice restaurant but not more than a firm 4.
Prime rib was thick, which is nice, but had so much fat everywhere you couldn't get a satisfying bite. No taste. Mashed potatoes tasted like baked and the color was yellow brown.
Incredible view and service. The food selections were just right. I was happily surprised to find out that they allowed side food items to be switched out for other food items. All in all great experience!! Highly recommend
