Our server was very pleasant. We had a wonderful time and my friend and myself enjoyed our time together!
Great view, amazing food, and fantastic service! 10/10
It was my birthday and our wedding anniversary this week. We wanted to do something special, so Peohe's was our first choice. Excellent seafood! Although there are many choices on their menu, I always seem to get the coconut shrimp. The dipping sauces are great. Atmosphere is wonderful. Servers are pleasant. We always eat at Peohe's whenever we visit San Diego.
Great view of San Diego bay, fresh fish & beef, great staff catering to details of excellent food selections.
my 40th birthday
Made reservation for 35th anniversary dinner... asked for bayside table on patio. We arrived on time for our reservation... confirmed that we were going to wait for a great table... then waited 40 minutes... we were then seated in lousy location directly underneath a speaker with loud obnoxious music... near the door and far from the railing overlooking the harbor.... with pretty much no view of SD Harbor... except a partial glimpse of the ferry landing pier. Our view was the sidewalk and the dirty dish stack. Two hostesses on duty... one very rude (lighter brown hair)... the other simply apathetic (much darker hair). We spent 40 minutes in waiting area watching them be basically unfriendly to everyone including us... then we were led to our disappointing table. My wife tried to keep a good attitude, but the enthusiasm and excitement of our choice restaurant was by now gone. I tried to fix it with a bottle of Sonoma area wine... it was average wine but expensive. Very nice waiter (Derek) did a good job of salvaging what started off as a disappointing experience and a sad start.... he recommended a great starter (crab mango stack)... then we ordered Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly and excellently prepared. No need to change the wait staff or the kitchen help... those people did a great job. Unfortunately the experience was run off the rails in advance by two young ladies who just started our experience off poorly. We might try the place again someday to give them one more chance (maybe they were just having a bad day)... but we'll leave immediately if the experience starts off the same as this time. I wish we'd have gone next door to Il Fornaio instead.
Great food, service and atmosphere
Very nice dinner on the patio.
Staff took forever to seat us when we had a reservation.
Wait staff also took forever to assist us and extremely long time to simply get us the check. Had to go up to someone to get our waitress.
My sister and I enjoyed the covered outdoor patio seating on the bay; we enjoyed the view and the boats and other water craft going by. We waited about 5-10 minutes for our server after being seated. After that, our server was attentive and great. We weren’t hurried and were glad to see table distancing and masks throughout.
1) they brought the dinner right after they brought the appetizers. 2) we had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time to get seated. Other than that, it's a nice restaurant.
The views while eating were amazing and the food matched that feeling!
The food was mediocre compared to the pricing. The service was atrocious. Not only were we not asked for replenishments on our cocktails, we didn’t even get a single water refill. On top of that, we were pressured into ordering the lava cake before we even ordered our appetizer. I understand it takes 30 minutes to cook, but that shouldn’t be an issue when it takes 30 minutes alone, just to receive our entrees.
I think Peohe’s management needs to push a little less on “increasing the check” and a little more on customer service, from the host, to the server, and up (or down) to the grey haired gentleman wearing New Balances pin-balling us through the restaurant to our table on the patio.
If you push better service, you’ll receive repeat business and more consistently positive reviews, ultimately driving up the dollars per night you greedy fools are striving for.
Hotel food and short staffed service.
Every dish was outstanding as was the service. 5 stars
We had a reservation at 630 PM we didn't get seated until 745 pm. I ordered a soup which never came and he ask me if I still wanted it. The food was good, the waiter was nice but the service was horrible. Probably the last time I go there
Waited to long at the table before waiter came. Way too long 1 hour
Your food server staff is poorly trained. My wife and I sat there with finished plates that no one cleared away, despite the fact that we were right next to a wait station. Both after the appetizers and the dinners. Two different guys in suits (managers - I assume) walked right by us without even looking at the table. Food was good, though. Won't be back
Food awsome serves was great
Food was excellent and the service was superb. When we finally were seated. We were 20 minute late to be seated and while no fault of the server our food took forever to be brought out. We have eaten here before and we understand the restaurant is known for a “relaxed “ experience but sometimes you just want to eat in les than an hour and a half. Despite that we would eat there again. The view of the city was amazing. Just be ready for a wait.
Everything about Peohe's is more than 5 stars! And it's that way every time I go there!
Our first table was on the point and we could see forever. However, I'm 77 and mostly healthy but we had a constant breeze to the point I had to ask Alissa; our server if we could move inside. Five minutes or so later we were moved inside with a window view of the harbor. Alissa and Nathan both served our area and were perfect.
Food was not good quality, sushi roll seemed pre-made, not fresh. Made reservation for table outside, but had to take an inside table which does not have the same ambience especially with large group and screaming kids nearby. Our waiter was very good
Calamari was great but the shrimp for the pasta was over cooked and dry.
Everything was perfect except for the facet that every 5-10 minutes at least 10-15 high school age people kept running through the outside patio, stripping down and jumping into the water.
Had this happened one time, no problem. The first time they were asked to leave, and they complied.
However, this kept happening throughout our whole meal. Typically I’m not super picky, but when you’re paying $180 for your anniversary dinner, it kinda cheapens the experience for me.
Service was a little slow, but the views were terrific.
It was a beautiful night. Everything was perfect! The patio dinning was the absolute best!
Location of the restaurant and view from the table were absolutely excellent. While the food and service were good there wasn’t anything that we ordered that would bring us back to this place. I’ll definitely go again and try some different dishes before making a final decision.
Crowded, service chaotic, not enough servers, mistakes with orders.
We show up to have a nice lunch at 12:10 on the patio. We were informed by the hostess they were all booked up for lunch. We walk around to see the patio over looking the bay and there were plenty of tables. Then I remembered the open table app. I went to the app there was a 12:30 spot. I took it and had a fine lunch even though they had no room. Shame on them turning us and others away.
Cocktails were wonderful, and the prime rib was delicious! One of the best views in All of San Diego.
Peohe's is always one of favorite places to dine and they are a Landry's/Chart House affiliate, if you have a Landry's card . Yes, it is $$$ but worth every penny.
You are always met with a pleasant greeting; there's not a bad seat in the house; they do have outside dining by the bay, if you prefer (sometimes hard to get - it's popular).
The servers and staff take care of you - ok, they pamper you. They are awesome!!
Executive Chef, Chris Gardner and his staff prepare all meals to perfection and your liking.
If you are looking for a nice night out, a great dinner and are celebrating a special occasion, this is the place.
My disclaimer - I don't work for Peohe's or Landry's/Chart House.
Peohe’s has been one of my “go to” restaurants for 20 years. The food as always was excellent. The service was marginal. Our chosen wine was not too be found. Our waitress blamed that on her managers “drinking”. After serving our appetizers the waitress disappeared for 45 minutes. She seemed surprised when we told her we ready to order our entrees. The entire meal took from 6:30-9:30. I expect better from a Chart House/Landry’s restaurant, especially when entertaining out of town guests.
Receptionist was very friendly,Our waiter Brian gave us great service. The manager stopped by and made us feel very welcome. It was our anniversary and the team strived to make it a memorable night.
I have not been to Peohe’s in over 20 years. Spent my birthday catching up with a friend there and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely return.
Yep these guys have English men who 100% know things that you need to know. Brian for sure was the CEO but lied to our face about CEOship; regardless... promote him to Peohes CEO and #1 hedgehog of the year. We will not eat fish ever again until this point. This is a tangible threat.
Amazing view of the water and the city. The manager on duty Wednesday night (September 16) was super nice and went out of his way to help his waiters. He was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our dining experience. Food was great and the ambiance was superb.
Great service! And food was excellent. Highly recommend the chicken spring rolls as an appetizer.
We went there for our 10th anniversary dinner. We were given an outdoor table with a beautiful view. Service was very good, although a little slow. Food was excellent and full of flavor.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The service was beyond expectation and the overall experience was truly unforgettable.
