Park Avenue Wine Dinner
We went to celebrate our engagement, and it was a perfect choice. All of the dishes and wines were incredible, and our server was fantastic. Treat yourself!
People serving us were very unpleasant. Brought out birthday cake when the 1/2 people who’s birthday it was was in the bathroom
My mom was in town visiting and we made a 9 pm reservation. We participated in the wine dinner and it was unbelievable. The food was perfect, the service incredible, and the wine was flowing! 10/10 recommend.
Food was fantastic and wine was abundant and delicious. Best part of all had to be our waiter to never once rushed us (dinner was 3 hours), had the knowledge and patience to talk about each item on the menu and provide thoughtful recommendations along the way. Wine dinner is the absolute best deal in town. We were there for an anniversary but are already looking for our next reason to go back!
Upon Arriving the was no Air conditioning in the restaurant and no one had told us until we asked the waitress. It was so hot we had to leave. When walking out, we said something to the hostess and she made a rude remark to my wife that its just hot in the restaurant because it is hot out. She blatantly lied to us. This is not how a restaurant of this caliber should act.
Excellent. Maybe part of summer theme, restaurant was a little too warm for comfort.
Fantastic deal. Recommend to everyone
Fantastic service. Lovely server who answered every question and made the best recommendations! The Wine Dinner is the way to go! Thouroughly enjoyed my birthday!
We were a group of 5 celebrating a birthday. We were seated immediately and the waiter came over and greeted us. We did the wine dinner and we were very happy with the food and wine selections. I would definitely do this again.
Our experience was spoiled by lazy, inattentive service.
When you book a wine dinner it is normal for the wines to accompany the food and for some introduction about the pairing, to achieve neither of these is stunningly unambitious and inhospitable to your guests.
I prompted the staff on two occasions, even ordered a mid meal beer but my subtlety was misplaced when the staff were simply interested in their gossip and missed my point.
Great food, wine and service.
One of the best NYC restaurant bargains
Celebrating adult birthdays. Had the wine dinner which was a great value and being that you choose from the regular menu, had many choices. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their
food. I had the scallops which were amazing. Generous pouring of the wines that accompanied
the courses. Will certainly return.
Exceptional service and amazing food. Would come back again and again.
The wine dinner is truly incredible. Not to be missed!
I would absolutely go back for the summer menu and look forward to visiting for fall/winter! The service was fantastic and food was delicious. We were there to celebrate a birthday which I had contacted the restaurant about before arriving that night. I did not have to remind them the night of which I truly appreciated. The dessert plate they presented to the birthday girl was beautiful!
One of my fave restaurants. The food and service never disappoints.
Just an overall good experience! Food was outstanding, presentation was outstanding. Wait staff was congenial, quirky, enjoyable. Overall very nice evening, would return in a heart-beat!
We enjoyed a great anniversary dinner. It is one of our favorite places.
We enjoyed two meals at Park Avenue during a recent visit to NYC (the restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and it was a great find!) Our first dinner was a regular seating in the early evening. When we heard about the nightly wine dinners after 8:30 PM, we made reservations for a late dinner on the last night of our visit to NYC, and it was well worth the return visit! The wine dinner is an exceptional value! For $65 PP, you get an appy, a main and a dessert from the regular menu (only exception, I think, is a slightly different offering of desserts), along with a wine with each course and frequent wine top-ups! This is an exceptional value! The summer menu options are awesome, and the servings are generous - we left feeling stuffed and very satisfied. Current Summer 2018 menu highlights for us: Summer Gazpacho, Steak Tartare, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Viking Village Scallops, Brock Island Swordfish, Long Island Duck Breast, and Key Lime Tart. We'll definitely visit again when we're in NYC.
Overall we had a very good dinner. The food was exceptional. The drinks also, exceptional. We did the wine dinner and I have to say everything brought to the table was amazing. Each wine added to the experience and paired nicely with the food from that course. The dishes pushed the envelope but not in such a way as to be exotic, just a nice addition to something that felt comfortably familiar.
The reason for the low review was the service and the check.
The service was terrible. We had to ask for everything to be brought to the table. The wine was never refilled without asking at least twice, despite it being a wine dinner. There were two instances of the wrong food being brought and another of a dish being forgotten. Normally totally fine, but not for a fine dining experience.
Finally the check. Very simple. They overcharged us $80 for being gluten-free. Our friends were charged the standard $65 for the wine dinner, we were charged for every item and drink individually, despite the items on the gluten-free menu being exactly the same as the regular menu. Thus our $65 wine dinner became a $105 wine dinner. Again, perfectly acceptable for a fine dining experience but you have to tell people. By the time we noticed the error, we had been hustled out the door (last table of the night, and again, unfriendly service) and couldn't really argue the point. If they really needed the extra money they should just say so, and not resort to such tactics.
A shame that such good food is located in, apparently, a poorly run (unhappy staff reflects most of the problems we had) establishment.
We went to the Park Avenue Wine Dinner for our anniversary based on a recommendation from a friend and had the most the wonderful and delicious dinner. The food was exquisite and presented so beautifully. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was definitely expensive but a good value considering the quality of the food. We would recommend it to friends.
Solid food, service a bit rushed. They have a new décor and new menu every season, and was scheduled to change one week after we were there, so everything in that regard will be different at this point.
The price was excellent as we went when they were running their $65 a person with all the wine you want special. The wine list of course is limited, but they had a fine selection and certainly worth the price.
Certainly worth a visit each season to see what they come up with next.
Amazing...the absolute best!!
Come here about once each season- the room is always beautiful- food amazing except tonight they were out of Sea Bass by 9:00.
We did the wine dinner which we did 2x before. Out waiter never came to pour unless we asked! There were 4 wines and we got 3. And again he would see an empty glass but didn’t ask to pour another even after a new course was served- so FAILED!
It was our Anniversary dinner and did get a special dessert which was nice and unexpected but we ordered 2 desserts so the 3rd was almost too much - but again nice gesture
My family and I had a wonderful experience this past Sunday night. We were a group of eight and felt like the food and the service were both perfect.
The service is great. They were really kind and attentive. The atmosphere was great, beautiful decoration and space, just a bit loud. The food was really good. The wine selection improved towards the last ones, we had to ask to get our glasses changed for each different wine which was surprising they did not do per se. They were super kind of bringing us a complementary dessert with a candle and dedicated for our anniversary we were celebrating.
I would totally recommend for a special occasion.
When I went, we were a group of 7 and we just so happen to be celebrating a recent engagement. We made a reservations for the Wine Dinner, which the earliest you can be seated is 8:30pm. The dinner includes an appetizer, entree and dessert + unlimited wine for $65/pp. In NYC, that is a steal! The wines included prosecco, 1 white and 2 red. Once you were done with your glass, the waiter would be over refilling it. It was excellent! The FOOD was delicious as well. I went with the duck egg raviolo, which was so big it could've been considered a meal! For dinner I did the Filet Mignon which had a green garlic crust. For dessert, we all couldn't decide so the waiter recommended they can bring out one of each, and so they did! The evening was great, the restaurant is beautiful as it changes every season.. so we were able to experience Spring. Definitely recommend going, especially for the Wine Dinner!
The wine dinner is an amazing deal!
my favorite nyc restaurant. love the wine pairing dinner!
Nice atmosphere, great food and wine tasting in one awesome deal! Really enjoyed it. Will definitely go back.
Worst meal and service ever. I have emailed the restaurant about our dining experience and no one has replied....save your money and don’t go
Why did I get 0 points ????
Amazing! Not to be missed!
My friends and I go every season when they switch up the menu. The value of the wine dinner really can't be beat. The food and wine is always amazing.
We went for wine dinner which includes app, entree, dessert n all u can drink wine. We ordered dishes where there was ad additional charge but was never informed. We only noticed it when we looked at check.
The Park Avenue wine dinner was an amazing experience! The deal was such a great value, the food was incredible, the wine tasting was so much fun, and the ambience/decor was amazing! I would highly recommend.
What a great find. We went for the wine dinner, which is a fantastic value. Three course meal (app/entrée and dessert of choice) plus four different glasses of wine- not a swish, but a full glass pour. The ambiance was fantastic. The bar area was lively but you could have a conversation over dinner without feeling like you needed to shout at all. Comfortable seating. Very good service. Presentation of the food was beautiful, and they presented some bonus items when we first sat down to "excite the palate." We will be back.
The restaurant was beautiful. We did the Wine Dinner, which was great. The wine selection was wonderful, the food selection was even better, but the service was the worst part. It seemed our waiter was overworked. The unfortunate part was that it was supposed to be a wine pairing with our dinner courses, but since we barely saw our waiter there wasn't much wine "pairing" going on. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience and I would probably go back, but I would hope for better service.
