Enjoyed the upstairs terrace. The service was friendly. I found however the menu very limited. For the price and expectations I would have desired a greater menu selection with more protein choices.
The Outpost always has great drinks, tasty food and awesome service!
The very attentive waiter gave us a tour of their organic roof garden.
Absolutely terrific find in downtown Cabo San Lucas. Great service from Ray and his team. Super fresh food, beautifully prepared and presented.
I took our family out to Outpost and we had a wonderful time and the staff was incredibly accommodating. We will definitely make this a choice upon our next trip to Cabo which is twice a year. Outpost has really unique with great pairing with decent wines.
This was delicious. Presentation was outstanding. Service was amazing. Our new favorite!!
Awesome innovative food and drinks with great service!
Recommend sitting at the top if you don’t want the flashing lights. Favorite were the sampler, carnitas taco and the s’more but all unique and tasty
Great food, excellent service with an onsite garden that is harvested daily.. Bartenders are also very creative and drinks are spectacular.
Great food , very creative combinations of vegetables and flavor. Cocktails were fabulous!
What a great dining experience! The Outpost is affiliated with Flora Farms and if you are a "foodie" you will love this restaurant too. From the moment you step through the entrance, you will know that you are in a very special place. Every detail from the decor, ambiance, music, lighting, service and especially the food, is very creative, intentional and purposeful. We were greeted by the host, Roberto, who gave us the wonderful history of Flora Farms and how the farm to table concept has also been painstakingly created at Outpost, including a rooftop garden, where all of the herbs and greens are used in the food they create.
Roy, our excellent Waiter, was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and also highlighted the many options on the menu, including a variety of signature craft cocktails. We started with the Lavender Martini and Grandpa Nelson, which we were able to watch the incredible Mixologist, Hector, expertly craft our cocktails. The large balls of ice in each glass were infused with herbs and fruit, so that when they rolled around in the glass, there was just an essence also infused in the drink.
For appetizers we chose the Black Tiradita - yellow fin tuna, avocado puree, roasted cucumber and pickled jicama with tumeric and then the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Delicious! No detail is spared and especially in the presentation of each dish, beautiful and creative works of art. We both chose the Seared Sea Bass with lavender butter, star squash risotto and cauliflower puree. Incredible!! For dessert, we chose the Deconstructed Smores with honey graham cracker ice cream and coffee crumble. A perfect ending to our dining experience! This restaurant is a must for those who appreciate delicious food, impeccable service and all with incredible ambiance. Go!
The “outpost” of Flora Farms in Cabo San Jose. Food verges on Mexican haute cuisine at very reasonable prices. Raymond is par excellence as a waiter and guide of the dinner selections. This restaurant is only 80 days old and indiscovered
We had a family dinner here that last night of our vacation. The food was excellent and the service superb. The cocktails were really a cut above with some interesting touches that made them special.
Food and service were great! A bit pricey if you don’t go at the happy hour times
An amazingly awesome roof-to-table restaurant. The building, architecture, and decor is unlike any place you’ll find throughout Cabo (in a pleasingly good way). Their food comes from a combination of their rooftop garden, nearby Flora Farms, and locally sourced meats. It’s a small and desirable place so you’ll need to book reservations as soon as possible. Things seem to really pick up after 7pm. From what I could tell they may only do one full seating per night. Couples may be able to sneak in without a reservation. It’s pretty pricey for Cabo but totally worth your while if your looking for a unique and delicious endeavor.
They charged us 1100 pesos ($58) Chateau Montelana glass 5 oz pour...issue not resolved to our satisfaction ...we will
Not recommend going forward
Vegans welcome! The food is incredible, the drinks upscale and very enjoyable
Great place...loved the staff and attention.
Trying way too hard. If you charge LA prices you need to step up. Everything sounds better than it is. We got 2 raw seafood appetizers (clams and tiradito). What a surprise.....they were warm. Yuck. Cocktails had interesting ingredients but were unbalanced. Lots of better options in Cabo. No need to go back.
Very Good Cocktails
Food not so good
Price too expensive for the quality
This was a wonderful restaurant. The menu has great variety, and each dish is thoughtful and well-prepared. The wait staff was detail-oriented and each person was cordial, attentive, and focused on being a good host. It was clear everyone who worked there cared about the restaurant, the food, and our experience. We enjoyed our cocktails and each course on the roof, and each dish outdid the next. Overall, this is an extraordinary restaurant and it turned into the best meal we had during our entire vacation in Cabo San Lucas.
Drinks were delicious, tapas were delicious and will absolutely be back for those. Dinner menu is still new and probably needs some time to soak in. They were out of the listed ribeye and chicken, ribeye replaced with tenderloin and it was just okay.
We loved the newly renovated ambiance with top class food from an amazing chef. We didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back here. We also added a few songs from the music playing to our personal playlists :)
Great experience! Wonderful food! We really enjoyed what we got, bit would have loved a little larger tapas portion.
Such a fun concept! Every dish was delicious. Not good to go if you’re starving, but you can order enough to get filled up. Presentation is fabulous and service was great!
Thank you for your review. Regarding your comment about "Not good if you're starving"... you will love hearing the following... During our first year, we only served Tapas. But we spent this past October - December (2018) expanding our kitchen and remodeling the main level in order to serve a full and complete dining experience. Starting January 4th, 2019, we will begin serving a formal and complete dinner menu from 5 pm to 12 am every night.
Convenient to the cruise tender pier ... to get there, walk down the marina area to the lighthouse (there's a hotel & restaurant there, too), turn left, go out through the parking lot to the street, cross the street and turn left - Outpost is at the end of the next block. Plan about 15 minutes from the tender pier.
I would be in Cabo for just a day (a Monday) and sadly Flora Farm is closed on Mondays, but Outpost supposedly carries some of their products. I was so excited to try this place after reading reviews and checking out their website. I made a reservation for a specific table, took the tender ashore from my ship, found my way out to the street and walked 15 minutes ... only find this place closed for renovation!!! Ugh! So disappointed! There was a hostess on duty, and she was surprised that I had been able to make a reservation and apologized profusely, inviting me back at 5 pm when they'd open for the evening. She recommended another place down the street - but I headed back to my ship. When I got back to the US, there was a voicemail from the owner of Outpost, apologizing for the mix up, explaining that they were undergoing some remodeling, and inviting me back ... so stars for customer service! Disappointed this trip but I'll definitely try again next time I'm in Cabo.
Again we apologize... We are reopened and hope to see you again so we can make it right.
Casual setting wth creative cuisine. The grilled corn is a must.
Home of my favorite cocktail in the whole wide world as well as a one of my favorite locations as well
Wonderful experience at outpost. Handcrafted cocktails were out of this world. Management will show you around their herb garden and give you their back story. Great tapas!
Very modern place. The managers or owners of the restaurant were very accommodating as well. Everything about the place was really fun! Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well. The food was also amazing. Loved the mini octopus tacos.
Came to Outpost for a bachelorette dinner and was treated to the most memorable evening of good food and fun! The host Orlando is so charming and gave us an amazing tour of the on-site gardens. Drinks were delightful, view of the sunset was incredible, and each dish was a new and delicious experience. I loved the beet tray and pescatarian options, would highly recommend this place for a healthy but flavorful, charming and fun evening! The staff is A+ and the ambiance can't be beat!
We were on vacation in Cabo and found this hidden gem. Love everything about it! The cocktails are incredible. Fresh ingredients and wonderful taste. The best drinks ever!! The food bite size servings but loaded with taste. The presentation was beautiful. Everyone at this establishment was welcoming and friendly. Many of the fresh ingredients are grown on site and the workers are very proud of their restaurant. We were in town 5 days and spent 4 of them here at some point of the day/night. Happy hour from 4 - 7 pm - 2x1 cocktails. Best buy in town!!! Nothing compares to the cocktails!
The best cocktails in Cabo with great vegan and vegetarian options
Fantastic food and the service was extremely attentive. Drinks are innovative and delicious! Their specials like ladies night and Friday night all you can drink for one price are a real deal. We were a group of five. We sat inside thinking it would be more comfortable and easier to visit and share tapas. Unfortunately the music was so loud that we could not have a conversation and the seating was uncomfortable (although it looked better than the alternatives). We were the only people inside as it was early and a lovely evening to be outside so there was no noise from other patrons. The bar is lovely and the food and beverage ingredients are fresh, lively and very tasty. Love the concept but not the ambiance.
Outpost has achieved to be all things to all people. A wonderful spot to fill your Instagram account, make your GF happy and friends jealous. Visiting from San Francisco, and spending many years in Australia, a simple cappuccino can be a challenge.
Outpost delivered with amazing coffee that is supported by an even more tantalizing coffee (served table side with a flame thrower) drink. Outpost is on the cutting edge of modern farm to table practices housing their garden rooftop over looking the sea.
The cuisine is delicate, tasty, and easy to manage over eating. The food is served on rustic sliced I-beams that provides a breathtaking unique presentation. If the I-beams aren't enough, the bathroom has its own Instagram account, giving Tokyo a tip of the hat during your private business matters (#2 welcomed).
Outpost outshines the disappointing neighboring hotel competition (who promise great fried chicken on Tuesday and fail). Price, quality and service is where Outpost thrives, keeps locals returning, visitors curious, and full on FOMO on your Instagram account.
Amazing food, amazing service, the BEST ambiance, environment, and music.
Don't go hungry. Described as tapas, but more amuse bouche. After $100US, we'd had what amounted to a lovely appetizer and left to get dinner elsewhere. Some very nice concepts, although uneven in repeat orders. Housemade drinks were exceptional.
I have previously gone to the Outpost for lunch. All you can eat for $300 pesos.
They did not have a similar option for dinner. Would not recommend going
there for dinner. Try the lunch. You won’t be disappointed.
It was apparent they didn't look at their app and know we were coming (8 of us) and didn't have anything set up for us. They tried to scramble but clearly this is not a place for a "dinner" but more for snacking and beverages as the tables are very small and sit lower than the seating. We ended up not even staying since they were still scrambling to find enough chairs for our group and the place had (maybe) 8 already seated (not crowded). While we didn't try the food, this review won't let me post without giving this a rating.
Very difficult to describe this place. A cool, funky vibe. Organic tapas and drinks (if you can believe that). They grow their own herbs on the roof. Part of the Flora Farms family.
Excellent service and amazing food & drinks. All open atmosphere.
UPDATE: If you’re curious, I’ll address the two low reviews I read. This is definitely NOT a Flora Farms vibe. It’s more of their in-town take on it. We were thrown by the seating and music too. But once we realized what the experience was, it was really cool. They’ve got a few small tables available. But mostly, it’s more of a relaxed seating, tapas and drinks vibe. My wife and I are used to nice restaurants with a more traditional experience. Believe it or not, even with the loud music, we were actually able to relax and just be a cool couple for an hour and a half. There was the most interesting guy, Orlando, working there who spent lots of time visiting with us. The tapas were served on the coolest little I-beams. You got that right. Like in construction… and every single one of them were made in the same tradition as Flora Farms. And I can’t even describe the drinks! They had rosemary and thyme and a variety of different different organic ingredients. That’s not even doing it justice, really. Just a very unique blend of ingredients used to make drinks you will not find anywhere else. If this gives you any idea, they don’t have bartenders. They call them mixologists, A term some may be familiar with.
All in all a surprisingly cool experience. But if you were expecting something else I can see where you might be disappointed.
