Okada Japanese Restaurant calificaciones y reseñas
We were originally looking for a hibachi place, but then stumbled upon this venue. With offerings ranging from sushi to ramen to noodle dishes to hibachi, it satisfied the wide range of tastes and preferences in our dining party. We'll be back.
Got there at 6:30 with a reservation set for 6:30 and I was told that my table wasn't ready and that I could wait at the bar or outside. I chose to wait outside since I was meeting with a friend. Friend showed up and we walked in at 6:45 and were taken to our seat. If our table had been ready I don't understand why someone didn't walk a few feet outside to tell me?
We got to our table and I realised that this wasn't a casual sushi place for teens. All the sushi was overpriced and it was good sushi but not worth the money. I ended up spending $40 for 2 California, a Shrimp Tempura, and a rainbow roll. All their special rolls are near $13 and I consider it excessive. I went to a sushi place in Centerville called Tomo sushi the next day and got much better value sushi.
This was our 1st visit to Okada and it was our 44th anniversary. It was wonderful and we will definitely become regulars.
The menu is substantial and should provide all tastes with many many options. The food is excellent, the service is caring. The drinks menu is substantial and the beer options are adequate.
We started with The Steamed Shrimp Dumplings. There were 6 amply-sized, tasty dumplings. The onion soup & salad that followed were right-sized given the substantial entree portions.
I chose the filet mignon & Shrimp Hibachi. In a word - it was AWESOME! My wife chose the scallops hibachi. Nothing was left on either of our plates. A great Anniversary gift to ourselves.
Our group of four delighted in discovering this vibrant, new Japanese restaurant. There's plenty of selection of fresh sushi made right in front of you and there are very amply-sized bento box combinations and more!
Try it! We'll be returning.
We showed up a few minutes early to our reservation and were told the wait would be 5-10 minutes beyond what we'd selected. There were plenty of seats at the round, modern sushi bar, so we sat there instead of waiting for a table since we had a movie to catch and enjoy watching the chefs work. After reviewing the extensive menu and picking our beverages and waiting a while admiring the decor and watching the sushi chefs in action, we ended up flagging folks down to ask who was supposed to be our server, and if we could order. There was obviously some miscommunication about who would be taking care of us, as we had the hostess helping at one point (she was the most kind/concerned of the staff), along with 3 other waitstaff.
We spent a lot of time wondering if we'd been forgotten, but when food and drinks finally came out, they were pretty good - standard fare for a place like that. My husband tried some of the chef's special sushi rolls and liked them, and the shoyu ramen was quite good on a chilly evening. The servers came around at the end of our meal to check on us and refill waters, etc. - maybe someone finally communicated that we were there. Overall, trying this place out as a start to our date night of dinner and a movie, we felt they tried to make up for the lack of service at the end, but the multiple attempts we had to make to flag anyone down to talk to us put me off of trying them again, at least in a Saturday night time slot.
Great food and service. If you are a Ramen Noodles fan, the Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen is simply mind blowing. It is infused with an awesome flavor, level of spice and is fantastic for a cold/chilly day. Overall, its awesome food, good service, good portions and reasonable prices makes we want to go again!
We always enjoy Okada and have dined there since it opened. The menu is diverse and the quality of food is consistently good. Love the Bentos box.
On this occasion we had family join us for their first visit - everyone was impressed with the food and ambiance.
Really enjoyed our dinner - everything tasted great. - Bento boxes, ramen noodles. And they had a good selection of kid friendly meals. If I could, i would subtract .5 stars because each dish arrived separately and was spaced a few minute apart. But overall, we enjoyed it enough that I decided to roundup my score.
We like the sushi at Okada, but the service is on the downside when sitting at a regular table. It's possible we just had a "bad" server the night we were there. Our server didn't come around much to get orders (food/drink), nor did he return for refills. Of course, when sitting at the sushi bar, service is spot on.
