Very good food in a lovely dining space and super service all around.
We are regulars at Okada and usually enjoy our experience, but this last time the Russian Mules were poorly made and tasted watered down
I had high hopes, but unfortunately they fell short on this trip. My wife’s meal was completely wrong and there seemed to be no real way to correct the issue. No real offer made to do something to offset the mistake and I’m really not sure why the mistake was made. The appetizers were no better than ones pulled from the freezer section at BJ’s and my bento box was mediocre at best.
My wife is Japanese and I have been eating traditional Japanese food for over 12 years now; this is Japanese food for those that dont know any better. Sorry.
Freshest, most delicious sushi I've found in this area, big menu, lots of great choices. My new favorite for Japanese food.
My 12 year old wanted ramen noodles - but he meant the 10cents per package ramen! I suggested we try authentic ramen and get some sushi, too. I've heard good things about Okada, but I've never walked in. I am SO GLAD I did. We each got the chicken wonton ramen bowl, and it was amazing. It was a huge bowl of very flavorful broth with meaty wontons and perfectly cooked noodles. It seemed a bit slow to get our food, but we weren't in a rush, and the sushi is made to order (and was DELICIOUS!), so it was worth the wait. We will definitely go back soon!!
The food was good but they were not able to handle a lot of people at the same time. It got really busy and it was pretty much waiting for someone to even ask for water.
Great sushi and ramen bowls, so awesome food m; however the 5 entries did not come together ... 2 first and 3 about 15 minutes later. They did give a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy.
Had salad, soup and sushi. All were very good -- not excellent but still very good. Have had the Ramen in the past and it was delicious and highly recommend it. Also the Hibachi style dinners are great as well.
All good, only suggestion would be to get larger wine glasses. The "thimble" size glasses are right out of the 60s!!
My husband and I spent Valentine’s Day at Okada and it was wonderful! The food was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. I will definitely be going back for sushi and ramen !
Best, freshest, flavorful sushi I've had in awhile. The fresh ramen noodles were excellent. They were kind enough to sell my wife just 2 oysters instead of a full order of 6, she said they were amazingly fresh and really excellent. We've found a new favorite spot for sushi and more! Lovely place, very nicely decorated.
We got sushi and it seemed fresh and was tasty, though the crazy shrimp roll was pretty bland. Service was awesome but we were the only ones there for most of the meal so I would hope it would be under those circumstances. I would definitely go back and try other dishes!
Great food and great service. The noise was very loud but it was a Saturday night!
Our server was a bit distracted and did not check in on us for water or any additional needs after our order was served. The hostess did stop by, but before our appetizers even came out, so we couldn't really say we needed anything at that early stage of our dinner. After dining and having our leftovers boxed, we asked for the check but had to ask her for it again 10 minutes later. So service is slow, but food is great, we would return.
Awesome food and ambience.
Nice lunch specials. Looks like good happy hour offerings. Also have an app and a loyalty program.
Went here due to many good reviews online. I got my usual white tuna and eel nigiri and the chicken miso ramen. I thought the ramen was very good and they had pork-free options, which I appreciate. I've been trying to go back ever since.
The only thing I would change is that they call it “hibachi” yet they make the food in the kitchen on the hibachi. If you’re coming for the show, you will be disappointed. The staff was excellent and the food and drinks great.
Servers were so attentive. Food was fantastic and the kids loved, loved the cute bento box meals!
Great SUSHI! Great atmosphere!! All around good restaurant.
Okada is a wonderful Japanese restaurant! The sushi was really fresh and tasted amazing. The Ramen was also delicious and very authentic. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely come back soon and bring more guests.
It is a fair American styled sushi. Nothing to write home about. The worst part was the device. The lady literally stood by our table waiting for us to finish so she can swoosh in to take away the dirty plate. I appreciate good timely service, but trying to enjoy my meal under the watchful eyes of the service staff is just not what I was looking for. Won’t be going back. We have our favorite sushi book in town. Was hoping to find a good one closer by and this is not it.
Wonderfully fresh sashimi. The other Japanese food was excellent, but I measure restaurants on the quality of sashimi and it was top rate. I will return.
Friendly service and delicious food! We loved everything that we had - tuna tataki, spicy umami ramen, maki rolls, chicken teriyaki bento, and Mongolian beef. We will definitely go back again!
We were originally looking for a hibachi place, but then stumbled upon this venue. With offerings ranging from sushi to ramen to noodle dishes to hibachi, it satisfied the wide range of tastes and preferences in our dining party. We'll be back.
Enjoyed the food and the service. Great location and ambiance.
Got there at 6:30 with a reservation set for 6:30 and I was told that my table wasn't ready and that I could wait at the bar or outside. I chose to wait outside since I was meeting with a friend. Friend showed up and we walked in at 6:45 and were taken to our seat. If our table had been ready I don't understand why someone didn't walk a few feet outside to tell me?
We got to our table and I realised that this wasn't a casual sushi place for teens. All the sushi was overpriced and it was good sushi but not worth the money. I ended up spending $40 for 2 California, a Shrimp Tempura, and a rainbow roll. All their special rolls are near $13 and I consider it excessive. I went to a sushi place in Centerville called Tomo sushi the next day and got much better value sushi.
This was our 1st visit to Okada and it was our 44th anniversary. It was wonderful and we will definitely become regulars.
The menu is substantial and should provide all tastes with many many options. The food is excellent, the service is caring. The drinks menu is substantial and the beer options are adequate.
We started with The Steamed Shrimp Dumplings. There were 6 amply-sized, tasty dumplings. The onion soup & salad that followed were right-sized given the substantial entree portions.
I chose the filet mignon & Shrimp Hibachi. In a word - it was AWESOME! My wife chose the scallops hibachi. Nothing was left on either of our plates. A great Anniversary gift to ourselves.
Great food! Great staff! Great restaurant! Love it!
We ordered the pot belly and chicken soft buns for our appetizer. It was served cold and tasted subpar. We had hibachi for dinner. The service was great. The hostess did not bil
Food is ok, but nothing above that. Quite pricy for such quality. Sake was good though. Service is good too
Enjoyed really good sushi with out of town family
Consistently excellent food, atmosphere and service - a combination you won't find in a chain store. If you're in the mood for Japanese cuisine, it doesn't get any better than this in Loudoun County.
Great sushi and ramen. Lettuce wraps were just ok.
Nice looking place with friendly staff. The food is so so. Not bad but I've had better sushi from grocery stores. Basically, no flavor and a bit skimpy on ingredients. It would do in a pinch but nothing special to write home about.
Our group of four delighted in discovering this vibrant, new Japanese restaurant. There's plenty of selection of fresh sushi made right in front of you and there are very amply-sized bento box combinations and more!
Try it! We'll be returning.
We showed up a few minutes early to our reservation and were told the wait would be 5-10 minutes beyond what we'd selected. There were plenty of seats at the round, modern sushi bar, so we sat there instead of waiting for a table since we had a movie to catch and enjoy watching the chefs work. After reviewing the extensive menu and picking our beverages and waiting a while admiring the decor and watching the sushi chefs in action, we ended up flagging folks down to ask who was supposed to be our server, and if we could order. There was obviously some miscommunication about who would be taking care of us, as we had the hostess helping at one point (she was the most kind/concerned of the staff), along with 3 other waitstaff.
We spent a lot of time wondering if we'd been forgotten, but when food and drinks finally came out, they were pretty good - standard fare for a place like that. My husband tried some of the chef's special sushi rolls and liked them, and the shoyu ramen was quite good on a chilly evening. The servers came around at the end of our meal to check on us and refill waters, etc. - maybe someone finally communicated that we were there. Overall, trying this place out as a start to our date night of dinner and a movie, we felt they tried to make up for the lack of service at the end, but the multiple attempts we had to make to flag anyone down to talk to us put me off of trying them again, at least in a Saturday night time slot.
Great spot. Will definitely be back. Food great. Our server was beyond great.
We like Okada very much - the food is always delicious and fresh! The staff are all very friendly and efficient. Great for families, dates, etc. Love the decor and they have a great bar area and lots of drink choices!
