Food was outstanding, put the Veranda to shame.
I don't know what to say about this place other than skip it. Sat for 5 minutes, no service. Place was run down and looked filthy. Very disappointed.
Way overpriced for just an average meal. Don’t understand why servers bring out appetizers and don’t bring any plates to serve them on. Happened twice at this restaurant.
We had dinner at Oceanside and it was a bust other than the key lime pie. I specifically told our server that I couldn't have spinach on my salad. When the salad came out it did have spinach on it. He offered to have it redone and then when I got the replacement salad it had no shrimp. The service was very slow despite many servers just standing around. My husband was disappointed with his fried shrimp and French fries also.
Fresh seafood. Good tenderloin and corn. Don’t go late. Young servers are ready to get off
It was ok. I don’t like corn on the cob
Very casual poolside dining specializing in local seafood. Fresh caught local shrimp cocktail on a bed of (local?) seaweed was sweet and crunchy. If you've had enough to drink you'll find the seaweed has a very beachy flavor. Grilled dolphin (or mahi ) was fresh and properly cooked, juicy and tender, not overcooked or dry. Scenery was great. Loved it.
Great ocean views and food was online with hotel dining
Great seafood selection. Prepared pefect and big portions. Staff were attentive and will definitely return next time we are in the area.
May be due to understaffing, but just keeping waters full on the table required special requests. Not the kind of restaurant that should take 3 hours to eat at. Waiter was over worked with all his tables. Couldn’t get anything in a timely fashion.
The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free. The chef made my gluten free French fries and the best grilled shrimp I have ever had! Also, they made my dad a hamburger and that was so sweet!
The two hostess ignored us when we walked up to the stand. The table was sticky. $30 for grilled chicken is absurd.
Food and service was very good. Sat indoors due to heat but inside was just as hot and had no air movement. We also found it was loud indoors and had difficulty carrying on a conversation.
We had a delightful evening....a bit warm and they possibly should offer som AC indoors even with doors open. Food was good...oyaters were a bit small but good. Our server was very pleasant and prompt. Overall a very lovely place. Be prepared that it is poolside and you have to walk through many children having fun prior to the place.
Entrees were served while we were eating our appetizers so I sent them back and they just brought out the same plates with cold food 10 minutes later . Swordfish was over cooked.
We had a table of eight and thought the view, service and food were very good! We got the table we asked for and were seated promptly.
Not many options for Vegans/Vegetarians - sub par food/expensive
Note: if you aren't a guest at the Omni then you can still eat here - provided you show a copy of your opentable reservation.
We did read other reviews saying that the food was sub-par and expensive and boy were they right! I wanted to go here just so we could enjoy a meal beachside. The views were nice, the service was nice but the food was really nothing to write home about. They didn't have any options for vegetarians/vegans. So we ordered their poke bowl with no meat - it was tasteless. Since we were still hungry we ordered their dessert - key lime pie - which was okay. Their drinks were not that great either. Everything was super expensive. Needless to say we left hungry and irritated. I would never go back!
Nice pool-side restaurant at Omni resort in Amelia Island overlooking the ocean. Seafood menu looked decent on paper. We ordered signature Chodwa for myself and my wife for appetizer. This was the worst chowder ever, made with frozen shrimp that tasted like cotton ball, fish chunks of the unknown variety and half-cooked potatoes that didn't soak in the soup enough to have any taste. Our drinks came way after we tried few spoons, which added to the negative experience to the point where we decided to skip the entrée, and ask for a check. The waiter was compassionate and took chowders of the bill.
Nice ambience and a great place to spend a time, but our expectations were for a food to be of the much better quality, especially considering such a high price.
The food was delicious! The server forgot the dessert I requested for my Wife's Birthday. But it was July 4th and they were super busy. After I reminded her of the dessert, she gave her a complimentary cocktail instead. The server didn't seem to know that we were celebrating her Birthday. Otherwise, everything else was great!
Best as a bar with food… not for a nice dinner
Our hostess and servers were professional, always greeted us with a smile and thank you. They were attentive despite a busy night. Delightful evening !!
Good was great our waitress was very attentive Aries’s great overall worth it
We dined at the Oceanside on the last night of our honeymoon at the Omni. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating, but for the few number of tables occupied, the service took too long. The food was really good, but wasn’t extraordinary. I had the shrimp Dina dinner and my husband had the swordfish. We had the key lime pie for dessert. I know the restaurant is connected to the beach bar, but for the money you’re paying, I think they could improve the entire experience. Overall, convenient location, pretty view, decent food, but overpriced and fair service. Could be better!
We turned out to be a party of 11. All of the good was well prepared and timely delivered. This is a laid back ocean front seafood shack and given its purpose it was excellent.
It's high season, so crowded when we went this week, so service was much slower than usual. They didn't honor/acknowledge the high top option we selected through OpenTable. (Outdoor high tops here have the ocean view.)
Best food at resort ( have tried all except Bob’s ). Both Seared tuna and grouper were done to perfection at dinner. Sunshine salad for lunch was a very generous portion. French fries are a must
Server was very personable. Could be faster. Menu offered interesting options
Service was horrible. Took way too long.
Amazing food and service !!!
Melvin was our server: overall probably one of the worst dinning experiences I’ve ever had with my family. We came to celebrate Father’s Day. Melvin didn’t even acknowledge my husband for Father’s Day even seeing my children there. He asked for our room number and we told him we weren’t staying at the resort. He then asked again and had to explain slowly we aren’t staying at the resort. There was definitely a language barrier. There was no ac. We ordered appetizers and spoons were forgotten for our soup and plates for our appetizers. He took our menus and didn’t even as what we wanted for our main course. He then said “do you want menus back?” Which we declined and ordered anyhow. Placed our order. Food was mediocre. I enjoyed the appetizers more. Rice seemed like it was microwaved. And he placed the wrong order for my daughter. He then asked for our room number again. Once again we said we were laying with a card and he asked for the card before providing the check. Please have Melvin do something else at the hotel as serving customers seems to be too challenging. Ill never eat here again. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough and spent $250. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Food was fresh and delicious! The calamari was great! Service excellent!
Our first night at the Omni, we were looking for a casual but nice restaurant. The pictures and description of Oceanside seemed to fit. What we found was something else. It should have been described as a shrimp shack and oyster bar. Shrimp & oysters comprised about 75% of the menu. Sides were rice, corn or french fries --- hope you want to carb up! The portions were healthy, so if you like what they offer, you won't leave hungry. While the room was nicely appointed, with a nice ocean view, the experience and food were way below par, and of course overpriced.
Too expensive for what it is. The calamari & ocean bowl were really good. The entrees were $40 for a piece of fish/lobster, gross undercooked rice & bland corn on the cob. I wish we had tried somewhere else for a $200 dinner on the island.
Our experience was mixed. The appetizers, salad and entrees were all plopped down on our table simultaneously. A martini was served in a highball glass. Our waitress offered us the check before we’d finished eating.
The setting is beautiful and the manager (Jeff) was very responsive to our concerns and made the experience much more pleasant.
Overall, my personal opinion is that this is another consequence of Covid. New staff trained in a rushed manner to cope with the sudden rush of tourists once the restrictions were lifted.
Ac was broken and service was terrible we couldn’t stay it was so hot 🥵
Awesome service and excellent food!
We very much e joyed our dinner, we shared fried calamari and both had the grilled shrimp with lemon rice and corn.
The shrimp were delicious and plenty of them.
Drinks were ok,as the bar seems to specialize in frozen drinks more than martinis!
Still overall very good service and we had a very enjoyable evening.
It would be nice to get bread with a $50. Steak.
