Service was super slow. There were plenty of people "working" standing around not doing anything. Never got drink refills, multiple parties walked out of the restaurant after waiting for 10+ minutes without anyone speaking to them. Not as good as it used to be
On this occasion we were visiting the Omni for a friends birthday. The location, off the beach is beautiful. The whole experience was great through the time we got our meal, shortly afterward the bill was delivered. We were so rushed that we didn’t even stick around for another drink, which would have been lovely considering the weather and the view. Nothing a little coaching of the waitstaff couldn’t fix.
The other thing that was surprising was the $10 valet fee. We typically go to the Ritz for our dinners and there’s no charge, tipping only.
Service was a bit slow, but the view was incredible
The service was excellent. Miranda did a great job explaining the specials and ensuring our meals were to our liking. The food was excellent. Love the casual atmosphere and view. I would highly recommend
Good food. Great ocean view
Food was amazing. View was amazing. The service wasn’t the best. We waited a long time time for a server to take our order, then when we needed drink refills no one was available for what seemed like a long time. It wasn’t crowded, so not sure of reason. We gave her the benefit of doubt that it was just an off night, so overall I would definitely recommend. Oh, there was an odd loudspeaker that kept going off and making loud bird and monkey noises. Not sure what that was about, but it could have been a little quieter and less frequent…..it kind of ruined the romantic vibe of a date night by the sea.
Food was just ok. Would expect more from a restaurant on an Omni property. Pricy for what you got. Not very well presented and also did not seem very fresh. Pretty disappointed.
Great food and service! Coral was awesome and very attentive!
Amazing! Omni staff is amazing - Andy and Chastity went above and beyond :)
Food was also delicious !
We started our meal outdoors at 7:45pm and when the first course arrived we were dove bombed by big black flies - it was crazy and horrid.
Owing to said attack, we ran indoors, carrying our food and were sat at a table that was very sticky and icky.
To top that off, there was a portable air conditioner right behind us that made a ton of noise.
IMHO the cost was outrageous and while the food was not too bad (tasting - the “chowda” and the seafood poutine were the same base except they drop cheese on top of poutine and melt it - have been to Montreal and eaten poutine :-), would not have gone with chowda as it was the same dish.
For a family of five with three children under 10 it was amazing to see the bill come in (tip included) at $300. Happy to spend when it is worth it!
I’ve eaten in multiple places in Manhattan and DC for less and at all places the table was clean!
I had one frozen margarita and it was awful - served in a 16oz plastic beer glass. I do not recommend it.
Staff were very nice!
An enjoyable dinner sitting outside with views of the beach and ocean. Grilled yellowfin tuna is highly recommended, nice portions, very good service.
Great food and music and good staff
Rushed in and out
Food came out 5 minutes after the salad
Very overpriced! Got crab “legs” and only got one. With the price of $45, it wasn’t worth the value. Restaurant is literally next to the pool which didn’t give the atmosphere of a nice restaurant with high prices.
It was inside, but had no noticeable air conditioning. The lettuce in my salad was limp and tasted like it was leftover from the previous day. The seared tuna on it was nice and rare as ordered. My husband’s swordfish was very small but tasted fine. The wait staff appeared to be “in training. “
nice view of the ocean and a good place to grab a quick bite to eat.
Food was outstanding, put the Veranda to shame.
I don't know what to say about this place other than skip it. Sat for 5 minutes, no service. Place was run down and looked filthy. Very disappointed.
Way overpriced for just an average meal. Don’t understand why servers bring out appetizers and don’t bring any plates to serve them on. Happened twice at this restaurant.
We had a great and relaxing dinner here. Ken and Eduardo took great care of our family and they also made great meal suggestions. The food, the service and the view was great. My husband enjoyed the mahi mahi, my daughter and I enjoyed the tuna bowl, and my other daughter had the ceasar salad. We would absolutely eat here again.
We had dinner at Oceanside and it was a bust other than the key lime pie. I specifically told our server that I couldn't have spinach on my salad. When the salad came out it did have spinach on it. He offered to have it redone and then when I got the replacement salad it had no shrimp. The service was very slow despite many servers just standing around. My husband was disappointed with his fried shrimp and French fries also.
Fresh seafood. Good tenderloin and corn. Don’t go late. Young servers are ready to get off
It was ok. I don’t like corn on the cob
Slow service because they are understaffed. Food is very good but on the pricey side for a poolside restaurant.
Very casual poolside dining specializing in local seafood. Fresh caught local shrimp cocktail on a bed of (local?) seaweed was sweet and crunchy. If you've had enough to drink you'll find the seaweed has a very beachy flavor. Grilled dolphin (or mahi ) was fresh and properly cooked, juicy and tender, not overcooked or dry. Scenery was great. Loved it.
Great ocean views and food was online with hotel dining
Great seafood selection. Prepared pefect and big portions. Staff were attentive and will definitely return next time we are in the area.
May be due to understaffing, but just keeping waters full on the table required special requests. Not the kind of restaurant that should take 3 hours to eat at. Waiter was over worked with all his tables. Couldn’t get anything in a timely fashion.
The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free. The chef made my gluten free French fries and the best grilled shrimp I have ever had! Also, they made my dad a hamburger and that was so sweet!
Thought this was going to be a nice Oceanside upscale restaurant but it was basically an outdoor pool restaurant/bar. I dressed up but didn’t need to. People were in bathing suits and cover ups. Food and service were poor as well for the price. View of beach was good at least.
The two hostess ignored us when we walked up to the stand. The table was sticky. $30 for grilled chicken is absurd.
Food and service was very good. Sat indoors due to heat but inside was just as hot and had no air movement. We also found it was loud indoors and had difficulty carrying on a conversation.
We had a delightful evening....a bit warm and they possibly should offer som AC indoors even with doors open. Food was good...oyaters were a bit small but good. Our server was very pleasant and prompt. Overall a very lovely place. Be prepared that it is poolside and you have to walk through many children having fun prior to the place.
Entrees were served while we were eating our appetizers so I sent them back and they just brought out the same plates with cold food 10 minutes later . Swordfish was over cooked.
We had a table of eight and thought the view, service and food were very good! We got the table we asked for and were seated promptly.
Not many options for Vegans/Vegetarians - sub par food/expensive
Note: if you aren't a guest at the Omni then you can still eat here - provided you show a copy of your opentable reservation.
We did read other reviews saying that the food was sub-par and expensive and boy were they right! I wanted to go here just so we could enjoy a meal beachside. The views were nice, the service was nice but the food was really nothing to write home about. They didn't have any options for vegetarians/vegans. So we ordered their poke bowl with no meat - it was tasteless. Since we were still hungry we ordered their dessert - key lime pie - which was okay. Their drinks were not that great either. Everything was super expensive. Needless to say we left hungry and irritated. I would never go back!
Nice pool-side restaurant at Omni resort in Amelia Island overlooking the ocean. Seafood menu looked decent on paper. We ordered signature Chodwa for myself and my wife for appetizer. This was the worst chowder ever, made with frozen shrimp that tasted like cotton ball, fish chunks of the unknown variety and half-cooked potatoes that didn't soak in the soup enough to have any taste. Our drinks came way after we tried few spoons, which added to the negative experience to the point where we decided to skip the entrée, and ask for a check. The waiter was compassionate and took chowders of the bill.
Nice ambience and a great place to spend a time, but our expectations were for a food to be of the much better quality, especially considering such a high price.
The food was delicious! The server forgot the dessert I requested for my Wife's Birthday. But it was July 4th and they were super busy. After I reminded her of the dessert, she gave her a complimentary cocktail instead. The server didn't seem to know that we were celebrating her Birthday. Otherwise, everything else was great!
Best as a bar with food… not for a nice dinner
