North Italia - Washington DC
Great pizza and spaghetti!
Outstanding experience! The gluten free pizza was the best I’ve ever had! This was my second experience at a North Italia restaurant, and I continue to be amazed with my experiences.
Great service.. we were given excellent recommendations. Fun casual atmosphere with friendly staff
Very good food, great service from Ty.
Sat outside - pleasant evening, but minimal ambience on Pennsylvania Ave.
Open, airy and modern interior. Food was excellent. We ate there twice. We started with the chef's board both times. The prosciutto melts in your mouth. I had the bolognese the first time and the Tuscan chicken the second time. Both were excellent. I had the affogato both times for dessert. My wife had salad for dinner one with chicken and one with salmon. Salad was delightful ! Donuts for dessert. They were very light and delicious. We liked it so much we got a to-go order for the next day!
We all family enjoyed it. Foods were so wonderful and service was outstanding.
Great food and service
Recommendation was very good.
I'll go there again.
I’ve come here before and had the spaghetti and meatballs, and the first time it was a 10 out of 10. This was my second time going there and it must have been a different chef cooking because the spaghetti was tasteless. It’s very upsetting so not sure if I’ll be back.
My first visit on a Sat. lunch time was great as it was quiet and we were able to sit outside with good weather. Service by Dan (?) and others was great and we commented to the manager who graciously come out to greet us. The food was outstanding; I had salad with salmon and my former colleague who was treating me to lunch had a great pasta salad I believe. We tried the lemon donuts which were a real treat. Also the desserts - great tiramisu and gelato. The menu has intriguing offerings and we pledged to return to try some other great sounding dishes.
It was great to get together with a friend / colleague in North Italia. We used to go often there before the pandemic. Food was great as always, service was quick and friendly, and while there were guests, there was no noise, you can actually talk with a friend.
Raw meat, hard pasta, and raw fish. Not the best experience.
Short ribs were bussin!
Excellent meal & service. Great happy hour menu deals. We will be back!
Amazing Food and absolutely recommend it to anyone loving good food, especially Italian. Service was fabulous and properly attentive. The staff knew when we needed something and when we were fine and needing nothing. Very intuitive.
Fun place with good Italian food! Pizza, vegetable pasta and regular, chicken.
North Italia represents good value in a comfortable but noisy setting. Service is always friendly and efficient. North Italia remains a go to restaurant when the urge for Italian food beckons.
Stopped here for dinner this past Saturday night. Some of the food was pretty good. Loved the zucchini chips. Grilled bread was good, hubby’s salad was also good. I didn’t like my margarita pizza. The ambiance was nice. Our server; however, was awful. We were visiting from NJ but we won’t be back next time we’re in town. We’re glad we tried though!
North is always absolutely delicious, and my experience was no different than usual!
Convenient for the theater
The table setting is absolutely gorgeous. The people there are nice and the food is good.
Food was good, service was great. The shrimp scampi was to die for. Pesto chicken pasta, short rib cavatelli, and calamari were just okay. Desserts were amazing, had the chocolate gelato, tiramisu, and hazelnut torta. Enjoyed the ambiance and experience; waiters were attention and really great.
Wonderful food . Excellent food
We had a great lunch here for our first visit. Special favorites were the kale salad and arugula/avocado salad, the spaghetti and meatballs. Very savory pasta and it was well spiced. All dishes used very fresh ingredients. Be aware that the very tasty sausage pizza was so spicy that our guest broke out in a sweat. He thought that this was a feature, not a bug, but not everyone will agree. Otherwise the pizza crust was nicely chewy and the other ingredients were great. The hash browns were cute, but a bit light on the salt.
Outstanding value for money. We will definitely return.
I come for the food but come back for the great service!
Excellent service, friendly staff and good happy hour options!
It was awesome! They made sure we were okay and had our glasses filled
A nice, casual, and comfortable place to meet with friends. The staff are welcoming and courteous.
Food was OK but service was terrible. I understand that we went on the Fourth of July and expected the food to be late and that wasn’t a big deal but our waiter didn’t bring plates, silverware, etc even after numerous reminders. Our kids were so hungry by the time the food arrived (and multiple reminders for plates and silverware) that had to literally eat things with their hands.
Even when the restaurant had totally cleared out (us and maybe 3 people left), the service was painfully slow and bad.
Never going back there again
It was horrible. Waited 90 minutes and never got our food. We ended up walking out.
We love North Italia in Reston and their service is always running smoothly, but I would avoid this location until further notice. I understand these are difficult times for the restaurant industry and the place is extremely short staffed, but the hosts should at least warn customers that it will be two or more hours before their food comes out. They offered us some bread and lots if apologies but eventually we left hungry and frustrated. I would wait a long time before returning, hopefully after the staffing shortage has been resolved.
Bar service was extremely slow.
The food was exceptional. The truffle mozzarella bread to start was amazing! Chef Patrick and team crafted one of the finest Shrimp Scampi’s I’ve tasted. The squid ink pasta was delightful and the butter cake with blueberry compote was a delectable treat to cap off an outstanding meal. Highly recommend North Italia!
Two minutes after we were seated the server makes two rounds within 5 mins asking if we were ready. We were not. Then when we were ready he was no where to be found. Then at the end same thing, we were ready for the check and in between we had a manager come request the extra table we had from us for another party that would be seated next to us, they cleared off our plates… but when we were ready to leave… no one was in sight. There needs to be attentiveness and one should be able to feel out the vibe by even a glance at the table they are attending.
Ok; no reason to return.
A very unusual dining experience in DC….no protestors bothering us, great service and great food.
Food was delicious! Especially the spaghetti & meatballs and the pizzas! Service was amazing!!
Great food and environment to catch up with friends. Would visit again.
Super fun place with great food and drinks! Service was fantastic too. Would definitely go back!
