Este restaurante merece una estrella Michelin, en verdad no exagero cuando digo que se come DELICIOSO, desde la bienvenida bastante cálida, el chef va a tu mesa para presentarse, es un gesto que como comensal se agradece. Pedi una entrada de salmón con queso de cabra y ensalada de manzana muy rica y fresca, posterior un risotto con tinta de calamar... uff!! un verdadero manjar, de plato fuerte picaña WoW IMPRESIONANTE, en su punto exacto y para endulzar el paladar una auténtica pavlova. Sin duda se convirtió en mi restaurante favorito de Playa del Carmen

Luca nuestro Chef, ama tener una relación directa con los clientes entonces siempre trata salir a las mesas a introducir su trabajo y explicar los platos que tenemos afuera de menú. Que bueno que apreciaste todos los platillos, nos da mucho gusto y nos motiva! Esperamos verte pronto nuevamente.
Este restaurante es una gema escondida. Puede estar un poco apartado de la 5a Avenida pero sirven una comida verdaderamente genial. Realmente recomendable. Todo lo que pedimos estuvo delicioso . Yo pedí un risotto de mariscos y mi esposa el ribeye cowboy. El término de la carne fue perfecto y la textura y consistencia del risotto perfecta.
El chef constantemente pasa a tu mesa a ver cómo te parece todo. La ambientación es modesta, el salón un poco ruidoso y tal vez ocupa más capacidad de aire acondicionado. Si eres un gourmand te va a encantar

Escogimos estar afuera de la Quinta precisamente para dar una alternativa a nuestros clientes y estar apartados de otros restaurantes muy turísticos con los cuales no nos identificamos particularmente. A Luca, nuestro Chef, le encanta tener una atención personalizada con cada cliente. La verdad muchas personas nos señalan amar esta parte y creemos sea un gran valor agregado para el restaurante.

I visited this restaurant back in May and had an amazing experience so I decided to go back given I was in Playa del Carmen for a week - must say that I held high expectations.
Well..the second time expectations were highly exceeded . I came here on Saturday night after a week of intense work, and didn't have many energies to think about the order from the comprehensive menu. But I was hungry, so I just asked chef Luca to bring whatever he wanted.
I ended up having a bespoke experience, doing a sort of private tasting with experimental dishes off the menu. I tried a risotto based on rabbit meat, and a delicious lamb shoulder. I won't add more descriptions as I hope he ends up including them in the Fall/Winter menu.
Everything was paired with a glass of wine, carefully recommended based on the different and balanced flavors of each dish.
I'm glad I came back - this is a great culinary experience. And reiterate my stand: this is a Micheline-star restaurant disguised as a modern, urban spot in a beach town with popular prices.

What a fabulous restaurant! Amazing, creative food, attentive service from the owner and head chef, and a quiet place in a busy city. One of the best restaurants we’ve tried anywhere in the world.

Nordic is by far one of the best restaurants in Playa Del Carmen. Luca’s creations of Carribean and Nordic fusion are incredible. I would come back to Playa just to eat here.

We stayed in Playa del Carmen 6 days and went to Nordic three times as it has been a unique, unbeatable culinary experience.
I am not joking when I say this restaurant deserve at least one Michelin star. The menu is very sophisticated: it mixes Nordic cooking methods with Spanish-style dishes (i.e. tapas, tacos) and premier quality ingredients. The chef has true passion for what he does and everything is curated in an obsessive manner - you should go to Nordic and be prepared for tastes and pairings that are unique.
Last thing: the prices are almost unbelievable, and it has do to with the desire of offering a gourmet dinner to everyone. It is a restaurant way more affordable than all the other places in Playa del Carmen. This is not only the best restaurant in town - and by far - but an experience that you can't really miss even if you've visited more glamorized places around the world. Seriously - this is a gem and I'm still pinching myself as it is hard to believe it was real!
Overall it was a nice dinner, the steak tartare was a highlight, followed by a mushroom and blue cheese risotto and a meatball dish. The main was a beef rib course that was overly fatty and a bit under cooked. My one criticism would be that every dish we had used blue cheese as the main sauce in the dish. While I like blue cheese, a bit of culinary variation is nice as well. Luca and his staff were friendly and enjoyable to chat with.

I took my wife to Nordic for our wedding anniversary as part of our trip to Playa del Carmen. Chef Luca greeted us personally and described the specials. Not only did we feel welcomed at the restaurant by him and his staff, the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend Nordic, and I also suggest you keep on eye on Luca Carleo and his plan to open a restaurant in Houston, Texas. Good luck!
My wife and I had already spent 6 days here in Playa Del Carmen, including a day excursion of eating hidden authentic Mexican dishes. We eaten seafood, carne, and so much, but Nordic offers an experience in eating that Chef Luca makes personal and exquisite. It is so rare to find a chef these days who makes it a point to actually speak to his patrons- not just a “hello” and “enjoy your meal”, but truly makes a point to deliver for your palate. His Michelin star is coming so do not miss Nordic
