Thank you for your visit and for choosing to celebrate a special date with us, we love to exceed every guest expectations! We will love to know more about your experience.
We were the only ones there for dinner. Stayed for 2 hours and no one else walked in. Good was so so, really not great.
Thank you for your review. We will like to review your experience in order to improve our service. Could you be more specific about your experience in our restaurant? Sincerely, Ángel Carbajal
Buena atención y excelente comida
I have been dining at Nick-San for years and have never been disappointed. The service is always outstanding and the fish is usually perfect. Unfortunately this last experience wasn’t great. The staff were perfect but the food we ordered was not good. We ordered the cilantro appetizer (blanking on the actual name) and the fish they used was not good. It was mushy and tasteless. Almost difficult to eat. The tostadas has such a strong onion taste it overpowered the whole dish. We also ordered the fish medallion in a miso sauce. It had good flavor but was mushy. That was my fiancé’s main dish and he ended up getting sick we deduce from that dish because everything else we shared. Super dissatisfied.. maybe it was just an off day as I said before it’s usually one of the best places to get raw fish dishes!
Thank you for your review, this is an unusual situation in our restaurant. We are always focused on maintaining a high standard on our ingredients, we will send your comments to our managers, thank you.
We went to have dinner after 3 years.
That was very good!!
Good ambiance, but we went on an off night fairly late and were one of the few customers there. The menu could use some tweaking. Had little flow/organization. The food was decent. The lobster roll was great. The service was fine
We have been dining here for many years. This is a very special restaurant. The food and service are always superb, with many "one of a kind " dishes. We have often taken visitors from New York here for dinner. Their reaction is invariably that the cuisine rivals the very best Japanese restaurants in New York, extremely high praise, with which we wholeheartedly agree.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I was not expecting the level of service I received. Everything was great!
We have been coming to Cabos annually and keep saying we want to try Nicksan. We were very disappointed with our experience. You would assume that when servers are clearing full plates of food, they would ask if everything was to our liking. Not so even though we also ordered a $150 usd bottle of sake. Food was mediocre at best. Had a much better seafood experience down the road since then.
Overall, we were very impressed with the creativity and quality of the fish. The tuna, by far, is the best choice… The other local fish yellowtail, Seabass, and some other ones I have never eaten before we're OK but the tuna was exceptional… Super great place.
Nick San has been around for decades..beginning in Cabo San Lucas. It is a wonderful fusion of Spanish and Japanese cuisine. The owner, Angel, and his 11 brothers fish every day from their own boats...so you know the fish is fresh...just hours old. The flavors created are spectacular! You will not be disappointed!
Great place - little pricey
They did not have our reservation but found a place for us. Our original service was very poor until we spoke up and they couldn't have been more attentive. We love the food at Nik San's. The fish is fresh, the dishes are served slowly, the condiments are generous (if you ask for more), presentation is lovely.
The food came out in reverse order. Sushi first, then appetizers/salads. The sushi rice tasted like the kind you might get in a grocery store that sells sushi. Hard packed and didn't taste fresh. The sashimi did not taste sushi grade. I would not return again.
The service is over the top! And food is ALWAYS delicious! We go to Nicksan every time we are in Cabo and we come about twice a year. Needless to say its the best sushi in the area and definitely a fun place to spend an evening!
We had high expectations based on current reviews and nicksan's location being in the shops at palmilla, but were disappointed in the end. We had 830pm reservations on a Thursday night and arrived to a very quite restaurant that was basically empty, which I don't mind necessarily. While the wait staff was pleasant, the prices were reasonable, and the was food average, they forgot to bring out an entire course of entrées which doesn't happen in a quality restaurant.
