We love this place. Great sushi.
The food was amazing as usual! Never disappointed. We drive from Puerto Vallarta. The service is exceptional. Oliver was an outstanding waiter. Ambiance perfecto. Great value for Japanese.
Food is great and fun to try different small dishes which are great for sharing. Wine selection mostly mediocre at best and decent wines too expensive. Outside seating is wonderful.
The place was practically empty at 6:30pm on a Thursday. Maybe that’s due to regular dining being later here? It seemed odd. The Sushi was ok. On piece of Hamachi did not smell right out of many plates of Nigiri. The drinks were good. Value was good. Service was ok. Overall I was less than impressed given the ratings and expectation worked up about the place. It was slightly better than a sushi restaurant in a mall in the US. Perhaps the night we visited was an off one for them.
Very nice place but service need to be upgraded. It seems Mexicans still have not understood that you do not cook the main meal at the same time as the appetizer... In every restaurant or so, we have the same problem. We have not finished the appetizer by the time they come with the main meal and the meal is cold... Same happened at this restaurant although it is a much more expensive place than other restaurants in Nuevo Vallarta, so for the price one is willing to pay, one should be entitled to expect differently...
This was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. Great sushi.
Nicksan is pleasurable dining experience. Eating inside or outside depends upon your mood. The inside is decorated modestly with plenty of room between tables. Let’s begin with being seated...always prompt with your choice as long as it’s available. Drinks are great and inexpensive. My wife always has the Lychee Martini...the best she’s ever had. I begin with a Cucumber Martini that has just the proper amount of cucumber flavor to make it very refreshing. I followed up with an Australian Chardonnay, just like a California Chardonnay. DINNER....truly the best and most unique sushi available. Don’t be silly and try to pick your own. Just tell the staff what you don’t like or allergies and let them bring you food until your satisfied. We seem to be able to have 4-5 dishes before we are full. Most dishes they select may not be a true sushi role but let them bring it on!!! We always ask for Jonathan and we can’t remember when we ordered a meal! He just brings items after talking to you for a few minutes. He actually has remembered what he brought us in prior visits as we dine at Nicksan 3-4 times in a 12 day stay. Did I mention it’s about $80.00USD. Don’t worry if Jonathan is not available as we have found all staff very knowledgeable about food items.
Excelente velada celebrando un cumpleaños
Love going to Nicksan when we are in Nuevo Vallarta. Great service and food.
A lovely restaurant and the best sushi I’ve ever had. Everything is so fresh and each plate a beautiful presentation. I look forward to returning.
good but expensive for the quantity.
Shush I was fresh and good. Crazy slow service and the server rarely came back to check on us. Took 15 minutes to get a scoop of ice cream for our kids, then additional 15 to get the check.
Lentisimo el servicio
Food was amazing!!!
The pricing is too high for what they offer. The service is haphazard. There are better restaurants who provide better value.
Been there many times. Excellent !
Through Christmas time too busy to offer there normal good service.
Had to ask for everything and took forever to get drinks and food. 30 minutes per roll .
Servicd was very good. Lovely atmosphere some dishes were wayover sauced.
Very creative chef, we always visit the restaurant when we are in Puerto Vallarta
The food was very good and the presentation was great. The service was good until a very large group of college students arrived for a demonstration.
Looking for something different in the middle of vacay in NV, we decided on sushi & Nick San hits the spot. We had about a dozen rolls including 3 of the daily specials. Fresh fish, sauces weren't overly sweet, salty or spicy like most sushi spots that aren't using grade A fish. Service had a few glitches. I'm in NV often, will definitely go back everytime
Ambiente agradable y buena comida.
Great Food!, Great Service! Will return often.
Quality of the food and service were excellent. Everything we ordered was nice and fresh.
The best Jaorneese great service. Been here many times since theynooened
Great food & service every time we go. We never look at the menu, just let the waiter know what you like and let them handle it from there ( although you must have the Tuna Tostada!
If you are in Nuevo Vallarta, you must try Nicksan. Great food and service!
Service was slow, and repeatedly, we had to find the server for water, etc. we weren't offered refills on cocktails.
The live music was good.
The restaurant was highly recommended, but it was rather disappointing overall...
