Todo muy bien, si está un poco caro pero vale la pena, fueron $500 dlls y éramos 2 adultos y 2 niños pero un niño no comió más q un plato de arroz.. si te gusta la comida japonesa, bien sushi, está muy bien..
Green tea noodles were overcooked and mushy.
Tofu platter was fine, nothing special, but the portion was miniscule, even for fine dining.
Neither noodles nor tofu seemed to be house made.
Won't be going back.
Came here for our 2 year wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Everything about NaRa-Ya was incredible; from the decor throughout to the ambiance and breathtaking views overlooking the water the experience was wonderful.
My wife and I both had the Omakase for dinner, every course increasingly delicious and paired it with fantastic cocktails.
We will be back to enjoy NaRa-Ya soon, before this new hidden gem is impossible to get a seat at.
1) I made a reservation at 630 PM that was confirmed, but this reservation was cancelled by the restaurant two hours before the time of the reservation with no reason and calls to the restaurant were not answered by a human. I immediately made a new reservation for 645 on the same day that was also confirmed. When I showed up, the person managing the door had no clue about the cancellation.
2) Business casual seems to include just about any attire, including shorts, sandals and t-shirts
3) food was mediocre, at best
4) total bill was pretty high
Will not be returning
Food was delicious! Alexis went above & beyond. Would definitely visit again.
Lovely ambience . Great service , amazing food and so ask the server for stuff not in the menu .
Great sushi spot! Literally the best in DC! A bit pricey but well worth it. The main dishes were also very tasty but smaller in portion size. The matchamisu is also a dessert MUST!
The service was bad
Host was rude
They rushed us
I will never go back
We had wonderful evening.
Drinks are amazing,
food beautifully presented and fresh.
Their sushi is to die for.
We tried it all. From appetizers to desserts.
We loved it.
Great date night venue. It’s expensive but it feels special.
One of the best sushi dishes and cocktails I had!
Amazing food drinks and ambience! Can’t wait to go back!
The waiter was so knowledgeable, took the time explain the menu, checked in on us frequently. The food was amazing.
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect but from the time we arrived till the time we left the team at Nara- Ya made us feel like the only people there. The food was Worth every penny! The flavor and everything we had was amazing! I can’t wait to go again.
Marcus always provides us with quality service and customer care. It keeps us coming back! We love his attentiveness to details, professionalism and great spirit.
Beautiful venue! Awesome eats! Magnificent view of the waterfront!
This restaurant sports a nice inviting interior, spectacular views of the Washington Harbor, and an eager and competent staff. However, the sushi here was just bland, with an over-reliance on rolls that are over-dressed so that you can't see how poorly prepared the rice, fish or other seafood inside of them is prepared. It's hard to believe the other glowing reviews of this restaurant on Open Table are genuine, unless the diners had something other than sushi or have never been to a decent sushi bar (which I acknowledge, are hard to come by in the Washington, D.C. area). In addition, the soba (a traditional Japanese noodle soup) I had here was cooked in a lukewarm broth not cold, like traditional Japanese soba, probably to cater to American palates. Overall, there is nothing here that comes close to being satisfying. And it's a shame because the D.C. area could use a good, high-end sushi restaurant.
The food and ambiance were amazing! Highly recommend dining here!
Loved it! Everything was great!
Overpriced restaurant with just regular food. We were disappointed. The kitchen was running substantially behind on sushi orders so it took forever and at the end, nothing to come back for.
The venue itself is nice, with spectacular views of the Potomac River that, together with fantastic service from the staff, made it a special occasion for us. Many thanks to the manager for accommodating our request for relocation to a better table. I feel the staff cares about their clients in spite of not being able to control what comes out of the kitchen.
Loved our first dining experience. Such a cool, neo-Tojyo vibe with great view of the water. The sushi was excellent. Wish the portions for non sushi items were slightly bigger, like the shirt rubs platter.
Great new addition to the District Wharf. Excellent menu and cocktail/wine selection. The Hawaiian influenced flavors and presentation are a welcome change of culinary scenery.
Trying a bit too hard to be hip and not hard enough on making the food worth the price point. Great location and decent service. The decor is a bit too interesting, however, and food is fine but unfortunately not at all interesting.
This was our second time at Nara-Ya and we’ll be coming back again and again. Great location, great service. But food and drinks are the stars. The cauliflower small plate is without a doubt my favorite cauliflower dish ever (and I love cauliflower). It’s crispy and savory with a great sauce. Every sushi roll we’ve had is consistently beautiful, fresh, and full of flavor. And the drinks are pretty AND delicious (I’m fond of the Toki-yo Story (an elevated Old Fashioned).
Went here for my girlfriends birthday. Amazing view of the wharf. Excellent service. We ate the green tea soba noodles and pan seared duck before finishing with nigiri omakase. Would highly recommend all of those.
I didn’t get the table i asked for and I told Multiple people i wanted and was told i would Have it. Not a sorry nothing. Food did not taste fresh to be paying such a high amount. Drinks were really good the food needs to be on that level
Staff was amazing. Venue is beautiful!
Nara-Ya is a great dining experience. The stylish decor and waterfront views created a great ambiance. Ask for Angel if you can. He was fun, attentive and able to accommodate all of our requests. Finally the food was impeccable, we struggled to stop ordering dishes because the entire menu looked great. Can’t wait to come back for seconds!
I love Nara-ya! Everything was amazing! Outstanding service! The view is the icing on the cake!
Everything was going well until we got the food. Don’t get me wrong we ate everything since we were really hungry but it wasn’t nothing special. Our server was amazing and the drinks were outstanding.
The food and staff was awesome. Also the drink are very good as well. A must go
a bit too lound to be able to have a conversation, wish their windows can open. Food portion can be a little more..
The ambiance was strikingly beautiful, extremely clean abs Instagram worthy. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and make great drinks for my friend and I. I would highly recommend the following to try: Tempura Crunch Roll, and “It’s Business Time” roll. For drink, I definitely recommend trying “The Ballard of Yasuke”. It was amazing. The only thing I would say is I wished they had more sushi options but other than that I would definitely come back and highly recommend others to check out this amazing restaurant.
Angel was absolutely amazing! We need more knowledgeable servers like this in the industry. He brought me the best sake based on my preference and recommend amazing sushi.
Very good food, good drinks and good service! Ambiance was great and took some great photos!
I had dinner at Nara-Ya last night with a friend and it was amazing. Everything from the venue to the food was top notch. Our server (Angel) was fantastic. He really made the night special.
We had a wonderful experience! We had a very hard time deciding so we put ourselves in the hands of our server, Angel. It was probably the best dining decision I have made in recent memory. He was so excited to guide us, and everything he brought us was delicious. I particularly loved the wagyu whiskey cocktail, the ikura nigiri topped with egg yolk, and the uni nigiri! Presentation, service, and ambiance were all great!
went for my girlfriends birthday and we had angel as our waiter and he's the best waiter we have ever had and took very good care of us! we will be coming back a making sure he is our server in the future because he made sure everything went smoothly for us!
