Our Private Dining Rooms, located on the 2nd floor of the Surety Hotel, overlook the Entertainment District on Court Avenue and offer more intimate settings for groups of 10 to 40 people. It was over $100 for two entrées for an appetizer and one cocktail Server, it was an attentive had to ask for more water three times Fire alarms were going off. No one approached us to explain what was going on seemed very little concerned for the patrons. Will not be back

To start they restaurant was pretty empty but weee going to sit us at connecting tables with a party of 6 people. I asked to sit apart since it was our anniversary (mentioned in the reservation) and there were tables available everywhere. The server offered free Prosecco or dessert for our anniversary which was incredibly nice. The dip appetizer was fine. I ordered the beet 1st course (instead of the soup…wish I would have ordered the soup), which was not good at all (and I love beets), the whipped feta was runny. They did take it off the bill when I mentioned I didn’t care for it (they didn’t ask). My husband’s Tomahawk steak & my NY Strip were supposed to be Med Rare and were definitely overcooked and had only a little flavor. Disappointing especially with the Tomahawk steak at Market Price which ended up being $100. The scalloped potatoes that came as a side were fantastic and the local tomatoes that were the other side were probably the best thing in the plate. Overall it wasn’t horrible but very disappointing.

The tomahawk was a little overpriced, but not bad. It was a little bit overcooked more of a medium weld than just a medium as ordered. However, everybody was so friendly did not want to complain. I usually don’t get fries at a high-end restaurant but, they smelled so good when we were sitting at the bar before our dinner we had to get them and they were amazing. We had a little wobbly and went to fix it at a different location and brought everything over for us and we’re super nice. Our server Robert was one of the nicest people I have met in a long time. He was very attentive and checked on us a few times without being a bother. We will be going back again.

Service is always amazing, food cooked perfectly, and the atmosphere/decor is everything my wife and I love about eating here and staying at the Surety Hotel when we visit Des Moines for a weekend getaway! We were driving from out of town late at night and called the restaurant to see if they could prepare the food we wanted before arriving as the kitchen was closing. They accommodated our needs and when we arrived the food was ready for us! It was a great experience with very kind staff all around.
