Overseen by one of the world’s most exciting and influential chefs Dimitris Katrivesis - an alumnus of the acclaimed Michelin starred 'El Bulli' restaurant in Spain - Mistura brings Tropical Peruvian style cooking to Xpu-Ha featuring a clever fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavours together with the best ingredients of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, infusing traditional flavours and seasonal ingredients with a contemporary twist.
Comida 12:00pm - 5:00pm
Cena 6:00pm - 11:00pm
Outstanding and comfortable at every point. World class experience. Exquisite.
Wonderful experience.the view of the beach is beautiful. The food was an experience in itself ,a fusion of Peruvian and Asian.Highly recommended.
Since Mistura is in Hotel Esencia, most reviews are probably included in the hotel review, so Im writing this for people are not staying at the hotel and may wish to have dinner here. We came here for dinner and not as hotel guests, as we were staying down the beach in Xpu-Ha. Previously this restaurant was part of the Al Cielo hotel, which was my favorite hotel and featured the fantastic cooking of Paco and the dignified Senior at the bar . The room is little changed, except the bar now faces away from the ocean. It is an ocean front restaurant with a "to die for" view of the beach and sea, a towering palapa roof. For atmosphere I give it 10 out of 10. The new chef is from El Bulli and fusesLatin American and Asian cooking.
I am a bit of a foodie, lived in Paris for a few years and now live in Chicago, so I am not a novice to fine dining. We tried many items on the menu and found that the food is exciting, with complex flavors and textures, and very tasty. The service was impeccable, our waiter kept a perfect pace and food and wine was well coordinated.
It is expensive but not unreasonable for the quality and location. If you are staying at the hotel of course you would try it, and worth a special trip for those not staying at the hotel. A wonderful experience you wont forget.
Would like to start that we were not staying at the resort which means we had to drive there via rental car. The resort is very exclusive and its a process to enter i.e. make sure you have a reservation and be prepared to show your ID. Once past the front gate you drive to the check in bungalow which then makes copies of your ID and you can leave your car there. A cart then picks you up and takes you closer to the resort. You then will walk through the property which I must say is SPECTACULAR and a cool experience in itself. The restaurant is just as beautiful. The food was outstanding and unique for the area but expect to pay USA prices. Service was a little underwhelming given the # of staff. In short worth the visit but probably wouldn't return when in the area again.
Nice servers and beautiful view but the food is terrible and overpriced. Unfortunately very amateur . Maybe for a drink!
