We were in DC for a birthday weekend and I made a reservation at this restaurant because I wanted to have Mexican food. But unfortunately our waiter was not the best. We were not greeted for about 10 minutes. The hostess was the one who took our drink order and brought over two shots of tequila on the house for my birthday which was really nice. When other tables were given pitches of water, they were given cups but we did not get any cups. Thank goodness my boyfriend’s beer glass was empty that I could pour water in and I just used a straw in the water pitcher. I got a steak burrito which had a lot of steak in it. He got chicken enchiladas. The food was mediocre. It felt as though we were in a club because the music was so loud. Unsure if we will be visiting again next time we are in the area.
Brunch at Mission Navy Yard was great! Excellent service, food, drinks and overall vibe!
Mission is very good at managing high demand periods during baseball and soccer games.
The hostess staff are friendly and clearly working hard to seat all the guests and we really have enjoyed our servers. The unique approach to Mexican food never disappoints.
Overall enjoyed our meal and pitcher of Margaritas. The guacamole and steak tacos were delish! So nice to sit at the bar again!
everyone was super nice and accommodating!
I love Mission, especially this location for how big it is and the seating options. But I have had issues the last 3 times I’ve been here. I understand it was busy because of the holiday 5/5 but the initial service of getting seated with a reservation was poor in my opinion. Thankfully the manager remedied it and was able to seat us where we originally reserved seating via OpenTable, but it was a rough start. Food and vibes were good as always, but I may consider going to the DuPont circle location again even though Navy Yard is so much closer.
Overcharge during happy hour seem like it was purposeful 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Made a reservation for 6 people and was sat at a table for 4. Service was slow and had no flow. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas for our table and was brought 1 drink. After the pitcher was finally delivers they forget to provide cups. I understand things can get busy but they made little effort to make sure the guest were comfortable, wanted to order more, or have a pleasant experience. Given the options in the area Mission will not be a place I recommend.
Just finished a post-Nats game birthday celebration for my daughter. Great food, but horrible service and wheelchair users be advised you're not at all welcome here. Yes, there's an elevator to get to the 2nd floor, where our pre-reserved table was located on the balcony. But it was blocked by a party of 6 that needed to be moved in order to access it. Yes, the table was intentionally placed six inches from the front door of the elevator. Repeated apologies were made to the able-bodied folks needing to be relocated, but not to me.
Upon arriving on the second floor, we were informed only high-top tables were available on the balcony outside. A request to replace the high-top with a low top table was met with a scoff by the host. Turns out only high top tables exist on the second floor...a clear Americans with Disabilities Act violation. Service was slow and unapologetic. They were clearly unprepared for the post-game rush. On the positive side, the food was fantastic. Drinks were generous pours and well prepared. After spending $250+ dollars, we deserved better. As a new restaurant, the accessibility violations are inexcusable. We won't be back.
Customer Service was completely. False report given one day and change another. Was not accommodating and basically ruined my birthday.
Meredith is the best!
The server kicked us out and did not do so with the other guests who had been there the same amount of time. She repeatedly reminded us of the time we had left and did not do so with the group right across from us at the bar. We completely understand having time limits but there has been so much inconsistency between visits. One time we are allowed to stay 4 hours, the next 1.5 hours. It has flip flopped every time, and it is always very busy so I am not sure what the reason is.
Great brunch! Food came out quickly and drinks stayed full!
Always a great #HappyHour with Logan (at the bar)!
The happy hour drinks were all disgusting and server refused to remake them because they were “premade”. The serve even admitted they all tasted weird. The DuPont location gave better service and food. They also have a better menu selection than the Navy Yard location. I will only visit DuPont Location in the future.
The team was very accommodating and we enjoyed all of our dishes and drink. We will be back! Thanks so much!
Very convenient to Nats Park and awesome to be able to eat outside. We will return again before one of many of our season tix. Thanks for a great evening!
Buffet was set up nice and served by staff. Food tasted delicious.
Service was horrible and our food order was messed up. The drinks were fantastic though! Love the atmosphere
Mission staff responded well to the large influx of clients due to lifting of COVID restrictions and both NATS and DC United games overlapping. We will definitely return in the future.
Felt a little rushed, told on at least 3 occasions that there was a 90 minute limit on the table and even though we had made a reservation days in advance we were put in an alcove between indoor and outdoor dining being served by a waitress that was mostly responsible for outside dining and just hit us up on the way by.
Bottomless mimosas and margaritas combo was great!
We requested a high top and specifically chose not outside then were put outside. When we asked to move inside we were told we’d have to wait at least an hour. Very disappointing!!! Why make a reservation if you don’t get what you reserved!!
Great happy hour and great safety protocols.
One of the most terrible dining experiences in recent memory. Chicken in tacos tasted like had been in the bottom of the pot for a week, dry and inedible. The table has COVID rules listed-- 6 people sitting only, tables 6 feet apart.
The tables were not 6 feet apart. Seated us next to a group of frat guys who kept having people from other tables congregate standing around their table of up to 10 guys. I felt like I was a super-spreader event.
The restaurant had one server serving the entire place-- outside and inside.
This is a cute brunch location, to have with friends. A DJ or music would of made the experience better. But overall a great place.
Drinks were great, the burrito I had was full of beans with maybe two pieces of chicken.
Service was a bit slow. Had to wait a little while for more drinks. They food did come out super fast which was nice.
The manager is creepy and rude, everything else is great but he is uncomfortable
this is simply the best spot in navy yard
Visited with old friends in town for the weekend. As always, the food was superb, the service was friendly, and the cost was reasonable. The manager, Charlie, also dropped by the table and chatted with us; it’s clear he takes pride in his restaurant and it’s service. Would absolutely eat here again!
Our margaritas had too much house/sour mix. Tacos were terrible, and dry. Our server was amazing
We have eaten at Mission quite a few times before and after Nats games. Most times we order sliders which are always good. However, this time we decided to try the tacos which were awful. The meat inside was very dry and flavorless and there was no sauce of any type on them.
Everything was good, the music was just not the vibe. After I requested some r&b everything was perfect.
Louis was so great!! My friends and I had a great Easter brunch
We went pretty early in the evening, it was decently quiet, which I think would change the later it gets, and if there’s a baseball game going on. The nachos were INCREDIBLE. They have great margs. If you’re headed to a game, this is definitely a great pre game spot to grab a quick bite and a drink before walking across the street to the game!
Fun birthday outing!
Great time, manager accomadating, waitress/bartender was phenomenal despite lack of help she had
Horrible experience all around - decent service was the only positive
