Mikado - Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa
Staff was very friendly! Great tasting food, very clean. Waiters where super friendly and attentive. Love the service and food.
We had our grandchildren with us and our waiter Edgar and chef Job were excellent. They went out of their way to ensure that Rylynn and Nolan had a special time!
Excelente servicio y la comida muy buena
Went to Mikado for Restaurant Week menu. Was very disappointed for the $466 peso price. The appetizer Pot Stickers were no good. The main entree Cashew Chicken Kabob was smaller than an appetizer in most other restaurants. The deserts were mediocre at best. Service was extremely slow as they were understaffed. Took about 2 hours to complete our meal. Very disappointed as we have heard it was a good restaurant!!
Fun table side presentation and great dinner choices
Great host and great food!
Everything was fantastic! Above my expectations. Great choice to have, right in the resort property, if you're staying at the Marriott.
We made a reservation, but they would not seat us st the grill. They forgot our soups and we felt it is was overpriced.
Very disappointed in Mikado. Service was very poor, initially very attentive and this the staff disappeared-the restaurant was empty! The meat was tough and not tastily. The sushi was very good.
Great service and good size portions.
It hard to write/rate much about this restaurant, as we left after about 30 minutes of our table being ignored. They took our order, brought an appetizer and drink then proceeded to watch ever table around us as being attended to, while out table of 8 guest were being ignored. We got up and went to the receptionist, paid for what we consumed, and were offered an apology, with a response that they were short staffed, I guess so short staffed that someone couldn't have at least came to the table to let us know of the scenario, rather than being felt forgotten. I won't return, because Mikado lacks the expertise that goes along with fine dining.
Excellent hibachi dinner with family and new friends. The chef at out grill was great. The food was very good, a bit expensive for the market, but probably appropriate for the hotel the restaurant is in.
Great experience with a very fun and helpful crew. Really can't go wrong with either the sushi or the grilled goods!
Food was good. We had an intimate table for 4 instead of the cooking table. We ate tempura shrimp, shrimp fried rice, sushi. Location great right on Marriott ‘s property.
We had tappenaki very good. But overall noisy
Food was great! It came faster than I thought.
The ambiance was pretty, organized and very clean.
This was hibachi grill dining. The food was good service was good it was not a gourmet restaurant but it was an entertaining evening
Espero volver pronto.
My wife and I arrived 6 minutes late for our reservation.
The maitre d, in a rather indifferent tone, informed us that because we were late, she did not have a table for us. When pressed, she offered seating at an out of the way cramped bar area and no other alternative.
We had no choice but to leave and seek other accommodations.
When I got home and checked my email I was informed by Open Table that we were a "no show". That was not the case, we were no more than 6 minutes late. This was a fabrication by the restaurant to cover their poor handling of our situation.
I have been an VIP Open Table member for many years. I have never experienced this degree of rudeness before.
Mikado Is the Marriotts sushi/hibachi restaurant. They have the exact same restaurant in Cancun and other locations. We did sushi and dinners, having done hibachi last year in Cancun. The sushi was decent, the dinners were decent, nothing great. The restaurant looks like a chain hotels version of a Japanese restaurant.
Wonderful meal. The fresh garlic was a delightful surprise and made the shrimp extra tasty. The vegetables were fresh and crisp and the chef was friendly and entertaining. Definitely gives you a Benihana feel with Mexican hospitality. We will be back on our next trip into Puerto Vallarta.
Mikado proved to be a fun night out for our group of 6 . We requested a hibachi table and let the entertainment begin . Our young chef was was not as seasoned as some but he was entertaining and cooked up a great meal for our party. I would have to say the only negative was the bright light -ing throughout the restaurant.
Under construction. Lighting way to bright, use the dimmer switches !!! Did not tell us about 30 % off 6-7. Nice staff.
We took advantage of the 30% off special while staying at the Marriott and thought it was an excellent value! Highly recommend!
Dinner was excellent. We were greeted at the door and politely led to our table. We were promptly served our drinks and our food orders taken. We were eating tepanyaki and I ordered rib eye my husband had filet and lobster. Both were cooked to perfection and the portions were very generous. The quality of our meal was the best. I cannot say enough good things about this meal. We will definitely make a return visit.
We chose Mikado for a special meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. The food, service, and ambiance were all outstanding. Our server,Edgar, was knowledgable and helpful with our menu choices, as well as treating us like we were the only ones in the restaurant. My husband ordered the noodles with steak and shrimp- the steak was so tender it almost melted in one's mouth. We also ordered the spring rolls as a starter. They were lightly fired and were served with a sweet and tangy sauce- a perfect pairing and a generous portion. I chose two kinds of sushi- the shrimp tempura and the Philadelphia roll. The presentation was so artistic, and the sushi was some of the best I have eaten. We had creme brûlée and coffee for dessert. We will definitely be back- one of the nicest meals we have had in Vallarta!
Saludos!
