Gave us an amazing balcony table for our reservation!
Got the family dinner style for 2 people. We were thrilled with the food and the value but I was too much for two and definitely for more 3 or 4 people. We were celebrating getting married so we were happy to try so many things. Service was welcoming and no intrusive to our evening.
Had such a great lunch date with my partner! A nice quiet Tuesday afternoon with a great view of the warf! The food was outstanding! I had the empanadas (a must). Along with plantain and rice and beans! The service was great. And for get your wallet!! You can tap to pay! If your not a local there are quite a few hotels in walking distance from this gem!
Very nice staff. There are a few vegetarian items, but would like for there to be more.
The 2nd level seating offers a nice view.
The restaurant was fantastic. Staff VERY attentive and food great. Drinks were great also. I’m not a tequila drinker and they made an Old Fashioned for me. It wasn’t a problem. The only issue was the noise. Music was loud and another table was enjoying themselves so much it made it difficult to hold a conversation.
Great service. Wonderful outdoor deck even when a big chilly outside since it’s covered.
This was our first time at Mi Vida. My sister and I were celebrating our other sister’s birthday. One sister had never seen the cherry blossoms as she lives out of town and had come up for the Birthday so we thought mi Vida would afford somewhat of a view, which it did. Oddly all the tables that would have had the best views on the top floor where we were were kept empty because of covid and the less optimal tables were open. Waitperson would not make a change; likely he couldn’t but he just didn’t seem interested in helping—or smiling. Also, our reservation was at 11:30, which happens to be when they open. We arrived about 15 mins early as we tried to time our arrival to be on time given heavy cherry blossom traffic coming across the bridge from Virginia. Anyway, it was very cold, gray and windy, but they wouldn’t let us wait inside the door. In fact they were a couple minutes late opening knowing we’d been out in the wind and cold for 15 minutes. Again, the woman who came to the door was a bit dismissive and not very friendly when she told us we’d have to wait outside. It was odd, because the people who answered the phone were very friendly. The food was wonderful, though; I just wish the waiters and Front desk person had been nicer. It definitely took some pleasure off the experience.
Great experience - food was great and the service was perfect.
Mi vida is one of my most fave place in DC. Everyone we bring over loves the ambiance and food, a big s/o to our server who accommodated a special request for a friend with her dinner, I don't know his name but this was the second time we got him as a server and he never dissapoints.
The food taste phenomenal and reminds me of five star restaurants of Zona Rosa in Mexico City. Request for outdoor seating to get magnificent Potomac river view.
Nice view and food.
Casual dining by the water
Visited Mi Vida for my birthday last night! It was such a wonderful experience - the food was excellent and our server Orlando was wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Our table wasn’t too great, it was position awkwardly next to a patio door. Other than that, service & food never disappoint.
Yes I would recommend this restaurant to another person.
I had a WONDERFUL experience!!! The food was soooo so so good and the service from the greeters and waiter was phenomenal (I wish I remembered her name). I can’t wait to come back.
Ma Vida is my neighborhood gem! The food is delicious. The Guac is always on point. I had the Seared Cod for the first time and it was so yummy!
The carne asada was some of the best I have ever had.
It was great!
I would like to start by saying that our server Orlando was awesome. He make sure he takes care of you and make you feel really good to be there. The food was delicious! prices yes they can be much but when its as good it worth every penny. Thank you Mi Vida for a great experience!
Lovely time! Our waitress was super nice, the food was delish, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The vibes were great, and I can’t wait to go back!
Food and service were amazing!! Definitely coming back again.
The restaurant was quite busy, so its makes sense to make reservations in advance. They also had accommodated my request for outdoor dining and had saved a table for me. The margaritas were to die for and the ambiance and view was really good. ❤️ Will definitely go there again.
We asked to be seated somewhere with water views, so they sat us outside on the patio. Because they are made of a rope-like product we didn’t notice the chairs were wet until we all had wet, dirty criss-crosses on our pants. It was quite unexpected as the patio under cover, with plastic side curtains, so it appeared completely weather proof.
When we mentioned it to the waiter he shrugged...no apologies, no offers to move us...
I would suggest not sitting on the patio.
Not only was the food great, everyone friendly, covid precautions on point, and the service at the table great, but I forgot my coat in the men's room and they remembered me wearing it and brought it to me. Highly recommend.
Not our best experience dining
First time eating here. We did family style which is really great for $42 it's a multi-course meal. The gauc and cheese was really good. Though we were surprised we only got 1 gauc. The shrimp appetizer was interesting. It was somewhere between cocktail shrimp and ceviche. The fish tacos, carnitas, and chicken enchiladas entrees were all full of rich flavor. And the churros were perfect, not too sweet and well paired with the bitter chocolate.
It would be nice if there were more vegetarian options that weren’t just grilled veggies. I mean for 1 veggie taco and 1 fish taco order, nachos and 2 drinks it was 100 and we were still hungry 🤷🏼♀️
The service was efficient and good. Upstairs balcony was perfect at night. Food was underwhelming, the burger patty and carne tacos were dry. Our server Joshua was good.
Great food, you won’t be disappointed
I will come back and strongly recommend to others.
Danny took great care of us, the food was stellar, and the view was wonderful.
Food was delicious and service was great!
One of my favorite places to eat, especially on a pretty day. You can’t beat sitting upstairs on the patio, overlooking the water with a beautiful cocktail in hand!
Please understand that my rating of Mi Vida is given from the perspective of a vegetarian. My meat-eating friends enjoyed their meals, and would undoubtedly give
the place high marks. But from my view, Mi Vida is not for vegetarians or vegans. There are few non-meat items on the menu, and the ones I sampled were not inspiring. I went along with my party in ordering the family style combo, after assurances from our waiter that my meal would include vegetarian dishes instead of the regular menu items. What I got were half-hearted meat substitutes that were hardly worth the $25 price. The enchiladas fair, at best, and the refried beans were cold and stiff at putty. The only menu item I found acceptable were the tantanachos we had as an appetizer, and which turned out to be my main meal. Vegetarians/vegans beware.
The delivered entrees to every one at the table except one. It was left under the heat lights for along time. I had to request the waitress to find out where the meal was. It was delivered on a hot plate but the fish and sauce was very overdone.
There was no apology, not even an excuse.
everything about this experience was divine, fast service, great view, AMAZING and unique food
Always a fantastic time at Mi Vida!
I had the enchiladas, and they were phenomenal. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
My wife and I were a bit destroyed by the cake we tried to have at the end, but the tacos we ordered were very good. Honestly, I shoulda asked to pay a bit extra for a fourth, as they come in threes.
Mi Vida is always a good time! Few rated my birthday there with family! It’s our staple celebratory spot! Love it!
