McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston
Great experience. Shout out to David, and Ryan the manager. Always great when they’re there.
Amazing server and great atmosphere.
We had a large group of 9 which was easily accommodated. Food was excellent and service excellent. Dining atmosphere was very nice in a room with other families.
Service took too long to acknowledge our presence. Asked twice for a specific menu which never arrived. Server suggested a dessert which we accepted on her recommendation to find out that the kitchen was out of that dessert. Food good as always though.
We had a very enjoyable experience with great service.
Our hostess seated us right away, she remembered I had just called to say we’d be a few minutes late due to HS graduation. Our server was very knowledgeable about all the food and how it was prepared, we had a picky eater with us and he was very accommodating with changing around the sides. He knew exactly when to reappear for refills and then would disappear so we could talk. We really had a good meal and will definitely be back.
Resturant was comfortable, food was enjoyable, music in the bar was nice, but the wait staff (in our experience) needed some polishing.
Good food. Window was really dirty. Service was sub par for McCormick and Schmidt.
Restaurant was filthy, service was indifferent at best, food was average.
We dined on a Christmas gift card from our son. We were able to sit in one of the curtained tables - very nice and quite. Salads and dinners were excellent. Great wine list. Our server was attentive but did not rush us.
Our server was great so I rated him 5 stars. The food was hit and miss. My son and daughter in law both had salmon and really enjoyed it. My wife had king crab which was dry, she noted that's what the butter is for but she had king crab at Fords Fish Shack last month when we went out for our anniversary and said it much better. I ordered the two lobster tail dinner which was mediocre, the best I can say is at least I didn't make the mistake of ordering the three lobster tail dinner. They came with what I believe was described as lobster bisque mashed potatoes but they tasted more like instant masked potatoes with a little bit of lobster bisque soup poured over them. The Caesar salad I had was ok as best.
To top it off, I noted when I made my reservation that it was an anniversary dinner (my son & daughter in lay) and mentioned it again to the hostess. Someone should have said congratulations to them, nothing.
I was there on Memorial Day and deeply appreciated the recognition extended to veterans (myself being a veteran). The quality of the food was only surpassed by the friendliness and hospitality extended by the front desk, bartenders, and wait staff.
Will definitely be coming back soon!
Food is exquisite and served with care, by friendly staff.
Went for Memorial Day Veterans Dinner and McCormick & Schmick's did not disappoint! The server was great, food delicious and overall a wonderful time!
Excellent food and service as one would expect from a top rated restaurant.
It can get noisy, so a table in a "quieter" area can be requested.
Memorial day special
Great Memorial Day meal
This restaurant provides free meals to honor the Military every Memorial and Veterans days, which is greatly appreciated! I wish I could afford to patronize them throughout the calendar year, but, regrettably, the batter-dipped fish and fries entree is a poor value--over $20.00 for a small portion of fish, french fries and 3 tablespoons, tops, for coleslaw. I suspect that the waitress didn't expect a tip for the 'free' meal, because her service was okay, but mediocre (she failed to provide the bread/butter, until reminded, so it came while we were already eating the entree, instead of pre-entree, and she didn't come around to check on us or refill our water glasses. (PS: WE DO TIP! Gladly. And most vets getting the free meals are reminded to do so, too!) Free is free, and we truly do appreciate the recognition, really! But we just are not impressed enough by the portions, prices, value, or service to return without the free deal incentive. So sorry.
Great ambiance and vet-friendly. Unfortunately, the swordfish was undercooked and kept me up all night and "uncomfortably busy" the next two days.
Very grateful for McCormick and Schmick's for honoring all our Service members. Excellent food and service. The Manager Jim at Reston M&S was great.
For Memorial Day meal for Vets
I and my wife took advantage of the Memorial Day Complementary Meal for vets. My wife is also a vet and we both enjoyed our lunch at McCormick & Schmick's in Reston, Virginia, very much. Service and food was absolutely impeccable. Thank you for an excellent lunch dining experience. We will be back sometime very soon.
I was there for Memorial Day Lunch with my Wife, and it was a superb experience! The Manager, Jim, goes out of his way to make every dining experience there memorable, and this visit was no exception. Olga was our server, and she did a very nice job as well.
Thank you for another excellent visit!
Our dinner was wonderful. Service was even better. We loved this place.
We had a good meal and the server did a great job with our many requests. I still feel like the food while good is missing something to be great. And when you’re paying top dollar for food and drink it needs to be great. We were also disappointed you were out of soft shell crabs.
Finally, as a Landry select member we’ve had other restaurants (Yak and Yeti specifically) where the manager come over and welcome us. M&S participates in the loyalty program but doesn’t do anything special when you present your LSC card upon checking in.
Very good meal, quiet and able to hear conversation, which was good. Swordfish was excellent!
Looks old and tried! Need to be more creative face lift to facility and menu.
We most recently dined at McCormick & Schmicks for a special occasion. We planned to relax and were in no hurry. Jesse made those plans work with seriously OUTSTANDING service -- always there when we needed him, but no hovering and no pressure. It's that fine line that makes for excellent wait staff!
We always feel like we are really treated well when go here. They try hard to make sure we are happy with the service, etc. Food was very good and so was service.
Always a good solid meal. Booths are nice, comfortable and allowed us to have a business discussion without issues.
Elizabeth was the best waiter we’ve had in a long while. In fact we interacted with the host and manager. They were both exceptional as well. The mgr was genuinely remarkable!
The service was a bit slow, but it was Mother's Day, so they were very busy. Our waiter was very courteous and made a good wine recommendation for my steak. He didn't check in very often though. The food was excellent as always.
Understandably, it was Mother’s Day at 2 pm but the service was hit or miss. I waited 45 minutes for an iced tea. The food was awful and cooked improperly. The eggs Benedict were hard-cooked, the crab cakes were soggy and my scallops were over cooked and rubbery. The raw oysters were shucked by someone in a hurry or didn’t know how as there were cracked shells in all of them. It was a good restaurant 10 years ago but it’s pretty much just an overpriced seafood Denny’s with apologies to Denny’s.
Service was outstanding. Lobster was chewy. We’ve been to the restaurant several times and it’s been fine in the past but this time the food just wasn’t that good.
We decided to try a new restaurant for Mother’s Day. We made brunch reservations based on word of mouth and the menu available online. When we arrived, the menu was different and had much fewer options that would be appealing to my teenage children. I ordered the bananas foster French toast, very disappointed in the quality. It seemed like two slices of bagged bread thrown on the griddle. No bananas foster sauce, few walnuts that were not candied. The value for cost is disparate. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits; shrimp was bland but the grits were very good. Coconut shrimp app was very good.
Great service and food. A good choice for Mothers' Day....kid friendly food, too.
Poached egg portions of Eggs Benedict slightly overdone. Server and table help reached across patrons to deliver and remove courses.
Went here for Mother's day brunch and had a delicious meal. Service was spectacular, though the menu suffered from a lack of variety. I guess given that this is a steak & seafood place, I should have probably expected that the menu would be 95% in that wheelhouse -- still, I expected a few more brunch-style staples. Overall a great brunch experience!
This restaurant offers good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. EnjoY!
First visit was for Mother’s Day. Staff and food were wonderful. We will definitely be back again.
