Maze Gordon Ramsay calificaciones y reseñas
I really liked the food. We asked for the signature menu and it really was a very good choice. The sommelier was very nice and recommend very good wines.I didn't like very much the service at the beggining. From a Gordon Ramsay we always expect perfection and it took so long to Someone see we were there waiting in the table
Great food and great service
Fresh sushi with a twist - wonderful choices in the 4 plate menu. We had salmon and tuna starter followed by chicken and beef. Then rhubarb and custard tartlet and my friend had an aero like effect chocolate desert - really enjoyed it!
I ordered 7-course chef's menu but received only 6 - prawns were missing. When I told the server that I didn't receive the prawns, he said that I did. The service was shockingly disappointing. They later apologized and applied some discount (for the prawns...). Food was good. Ambience was not bad. Overall, not bad. But it was not something I have exepcted for a restaurant under the name of Gordon Ramsay.
I had booked Gordon Ramsey's Maze as a 30th birthday present for my girlfriend, we both opted for the 5 course tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Some of the best paired food that I've eaten, in every course there was great attention to detail with very attentive service and a great sommelier that helped us pick a great wine for our taste, budget and food choice. Yes this is a fine dining restaurant that is quite expensive but the food is out of this world and is worth the money for the experience.
Maybe too high expectations, causes disappointment. The food is ok, but not impressive. The service is excellent. But the main problem is the environment is too too too too too noisy. Honestly, I expect better under the name of Gordon Ramsay.
Maze is a tourist trap. Don't go. The service is horribly intrusive and overbearing. The food is hugely overpriced. The sushi is meh - better sushi can be found for less money elsewhere. One tiny course of beets with goats cheese, costing approx £13, was cold and tasteless- really dreadful - we sent it back. Another course of scallops, costing around £15, contained less than one teaspoon of scallop - we eat out a lot in London and we were shocked. But the worst thing was the service. On arrival, we were asked to sit at the bar. There was no free seating so it was awkwardly handled. Then once seated, I was rudely asked to move to make way for another party. We asked to be seated at our table and the waiters simply forgot about us. We had to ask 3 times. Once finally seated, we became uncomfortably aware of the waiters constantly pacing up and down the aisles of the restaurant, looking down at your plates all the time. It was intrusive to the point that it stymied conversation. I'd estimate one waiter passed by us every 15 seconds. Sometimes they travelled in packs, talking loudly as they passed. It was absurd. Different waiters kept coming up and interfering with our table, wishing us a pleasant evening etc. By this point we just wanted to be left alone. They offered us a complimentary glass of pudding wine and free coffee to make up for the beets we had sent back, but did this in a very time consuming and overbearing way, for example with lengthy explanations and insisting on shaking our hands at the end. I felt as though I had had dinner with all the staff instead of my partner.
We had a saturday early evening date dinner at Ramsay's Maze. I was not sure if i should or not bother writing the review. But having seen Mr. Ramsay's shows, media coverage... well, here you go, Mr. Ramsay: it was just ok. To paraphrase one of the commercials - "bronze for the price of gold". We had 4 course set menu each. We have expected portions to be small. However, if you are to order there - one portion is probably well below 50 grams. Including sides and decor. The food itself was not spectacular. Sushi - just another sushi, no different from ordinary Yo sushi. Cod - worse than in average portuguese restaurant. Chicken gyoza - ok. But again, just like any other average chinese place. Risotto - worse than Ask Italian. Rhubarb brulee - ok'ish. Octopus, again, no better than any portuguese place. I ordered a vanilla/mango cocktail and it was great. However, when i asked to repeat it, it came looking the same, but tasting worlds apart (one sweet and gentle and second - very sour). My partner ordered cider. We waited. Repeated several times. Then cancelled - because desserts came in and we opted for sweet wine. Thumbs up for the team's (well, at least part of it) attention to customer needs: we warned our waiter that we do not have much time, and they made sure we left exactly when we needed to leave. But, dear Mr. Ramsay, if you ask me, that dinner was nowhere near of a £200 quality. And, if you read this (and/or care) - we will not go back to your place. Simply not worth it.
Good food, service was really friendly, restaurant was busy but not noisy so good atmosphere . The concept is sharing plates so portions are small, which is fine, but it's very expensive. A small plate is priced at what a regular sized dish would be in another restaurant.
Our last minute booking to Maze was a great experience, no it is not the cheapest restaurant, but you go there for the experience, service and quality of food, all of which were fantastic. Our waiter went above and beyond by inviting us to tour the kitchen once we finished our meal. I will definitely recommend.
We had the meal on special offer. The starters were great but the main courses were of poor quality. I had the pork chop which seemed to consist mainly of fat. My wife had the risotto which had raw sliced mushrooms on it and the portion was tiny. I'm sure if that was presented to Gordon Ramsay, he would have had a few choice words to say about it
The food was lovely, the staff were excellent, but the ambience was slightly missing. Perhaps because we went on a Tuesday, but it did have that hotel restaurant feel. The food was very good and particularly good value on the deal. I'm not sure it blew us away, though that was maybe our fault for having very high expectations. I'd definitely recommend going on the deal, but not sure I'd go back and pay full price.
We were disappointed by both the service and the food.
We were seated well and politely but staff were slow to take our order and did not offer us drinks other than sparkling water. Then, without asking if we wished to have wine or something else to drink, the waitress took away our wine glasses! The food was uninspiring. Quite why I was given a TINY portion of almost cold fish as my main course and my wife as LARGE pork chop (enough for her to share with me) was puzzling.
Overall, a disappointment and we would not go back.
Unfortunately I won't be recommending Maze to friends and family based on our last meal. There is nothing wrong with the food per se, some dishes (notably, the scallop carpaccio) are outstanding but the ambience, the canteen like noise levels and the ridiculously slow and disjointed service let it down. I don't like feeling like a restaurant is doing me a favour in letting me dine there and that was exactly how I felt at Maze. We waited almost 45 minutes for our first two starters and it was only when I put on my "snooty hat" and asked if the potatoes were meant to be a dessert (they hadn't arrived with our main course) that the service kicked in. (We had already politely complained about the slow pace at which the starters were served).
We were then showered in apologies and our desserts were on the house, but it was far too late to save the evening. At almost £650 for a party of 5 (very well fed, but with only one bottle of wine) that is not the dining experience one expects. I'd rather have paid for my puddings and had jolly a good time, to be honest...
I visit Maze with my Mother once a month and this visit was as superb as all the rest. Orhan and his team are professional, friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. And the food quality is always excellent; we usually have the set menu which is delicious every time. A lovely relaxed atmosphere and a great experience for a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
Maybe I'm just getting older!
I was really looking forward to revisiting, so much so, that I think I overthought the experience. The food was very good, albeit, the portions were sparing. Suffice to say, I left their hungry. I guess the quality /quantity conundrum biased my opinion. Objectively, I would recommend it but with a qualification or two...
Went to celebrate with my wife on a rare occasion we are both free on the weekend and have the energy to go out as a result of our jobs. The staff, as expected were welcoming, professional and lovely.
We were dining on the Opentable exclusive menu that had 8 small plates (most of which were samples of their regular a LA care menu which was great!) to share with a main each and dessert.
The food here is fantastic and the portion sizes deceptive. At first glance we thought we may have to had ordered extra side dishes but come the end of the evening we were satisfied! The flavours are brilliant without being too risque so you needn't worry about having to google the different ingredients on the menu.
Nice atmosphere if a little sterile at times. Some music would have been nice to relax but it's a minor point.
Having seen kitchen nightmares it is good to see that Gordon Ramsey uses the same advice he doles out. Let the food speak for itself.
