Excellent food, wonderful ambiance and outstanding service.
As always: great service and perfectly prepared, creative fish dishes.
A waiter (not ours) was walking around sneezing repeatedly and not even attempting to cover it. VERY unappetizing behavior! We’ve enjoyed our visits in the past, but won’t be back soon.
Excellent food and service as expected from Max restaurant group.
It was a decent visit to Max Fish. We didn’t like the four two top tables so close to each other. Forgot to request a booth on OpenTable. Our waitress was good, very attentive and helpful. Meal was good and so were the glasses of wine we had. Overall a good experience!
Service was good. Food was hot, good and order was correct. After reading reviews, I thought we would have a problem with the service but we didn't. A little on the expensive side but wort it.
I frequently go to Max Fish for happy hours and I have eaten meals here twice in the past. It is always a pleasure and this time was no exception. Our meals were on a special Halloween Eve menu and were not only an excellent value, but excellent fare as well. It was my cousin's first experience at MF and although she does not eat fish (a chicken entree was her choice) she enjoyed her meal a lot.
Food and service was were great. Our table was located where the servers work.so
Was pretty noisy.
Excellent service - seated promptly and very attentive servers.
max Fish has a lovely atmosphere, good choices on the menu, well cooked and served. We look forward
To returning in March

We loved everything! The food was fantastic and so was the service!
A large part of the dining experience is the service. I was entertaining out of town guest and I had to flag someone down just for water despite several staff members walking past us. I than had to flag someone down asking for our wait person to take our drinks. The food was great, but having to “ask” for basic service was embarrassing for this restaurant.
First time at this Max Fish in Glastonbury. Nice location, good service, overpriced food for what was served. I ordered the seafood over linguine, dont remember the name? A meager half of lobster tail which looked like from a one pounder or less. Very small, but cooked correctly. Meager portions of remaining ingredients. And by far the worst thing of all was the totally overcooked shrimp, dry, with the feet still on? This location did meet the standards which I have come to expect from all the other Max locations.
AS ALWAYS GOOD SERVICE, FRIENDLY STAFF, SUPER FOOD
Service and food outstanding
Service and food was fabulous. Would definitely go again
It was my daughter's birthday. I mentioned it though open table but there wasn't any...
The sever wasn't that nice.. after we ordered a lot of food he became nicer.. haha
Max Fish is always great food and service. We enjoyed some seasonal dishes, lobster pan roast was delicious. Risotto was made with butternut squash. Salmon was made with pumpkin bisque and sage gnocchi. Yummy. Had a local vineyard wine located in Glastonbury which was excellent. Always enjoyable.
Staff was attentive we had a reservation but decided to stay at the bar. Food was very good and prepared as ordered. It was very busy but the wait staff took care of us made sure we had drinks and whatever else we needed or wanted.
The drinks were amazing. We started with a few oysters which was fun and an Asian Calamari which was very tasty. We felt our waitress was “dry”. I feel like a restaurant like that I’d like a little more interaction with the wait staff. Take a second to laugh at my lame joke before running off to place a drink order. Pork Chop was very good. My wife’s fish seemed a bit charred. Carmel Brownie was amazing.
The food was excellent, our server was awesome. Can't wait to go back again.
I travel to this area a couple times a year. When we arrive we always get to Max Fish for dinner. Service is great and the meal is always amazing.
Always good fresh seafood. Service was slow, I think they were shorthanded. If you are going with a big group ask for a larger table. The tables are small.
We stopped in for brunch with our son. All were pleased with their food choices. My Toscana salad with lobster was not near as good as the Max Amore Toscana salad. The polenta croutons were cold and tough not warm and tender as in the other restaurant!! There were very few olives, too. My husband loved his scallops over quinoa. My son was pleased with his salad with very rare tuna. A suggestion - serve bread with the salads!!!
Great food as always and terrific service from Savannah!
Service was primary problem--salmon burger and fish sandwich took a long time to come out after ordering--salmon burger didn't have sweet potato fries ready--came out separately--side order of greens came later than that--after dishes cleared, it took over 20 minutes for us to be asked about coffee. Service has been a Max trademark. If this was our first visit, it would have been our last. Am Vantage card holder for many years.
Everything was amazing. The food was great and the staff was exceptional
Service was not what we expect from a Max restaurant. Waitress did not own up to mistake that kitchen made and we gave two chances to correct
Very knowledgeable wait staff and friendly. The atmosphere was appropriate and we were comfortable even with the crowded conditions.
Enjoyed a memorable dinner with family. Great food and service. Favorites were bouillabaisse, seafood with linguini, salmon and New York strip. Looking forward to next visit.
It was pleasant
All together a great experience!
Great atmosphere. Waitress was attentive. Not too chatty. Food was excellent. Definitely will try gain.
An impromptu lunch outside on a spectacular autumn day. My oysters, were, as always, spectacular, served on ice with the liquors maintained within the shells. The mignonette, perfect. I tried King Clip, walnut and sage crusted. On a bed of perfectly cooked asparagus and leek risotto, it was not a fish with which I was familiar, but was beyond any expectations. Sweet and savory, I didn’t want it to end. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her salmon poke bowl. From start to finish, it was the best two hours of my weekend. And thanks to Brian, for coming around to make sure our experience was wonderful.
We went to celebrate 2 birthdays and we all had a very nice time with a special thanks to delightful waitress who made sure we were able to have everything the way we liked and then some. The restaurant was having a "lobster" day special which 2 of us took advantage of and one had the halibut dinner. Everything came as we ordered it and any special requests were taken in by our waitress "Catherine" to the kitchen with a positive acknowledgement by the kitchen. Cocktails were delightful and the caramelized Banana split was the "birthday cake" ;-) ... yummy!! Thank you for a very delightful evening and birthday celebration, with a special shoutout to our waitress - Catherine !!
It was National Lobster Day and really enjoyed the lobster bake entree and though not a dessert eater, had the best slice of key lime tart I’ve ever had - the crust was amazing! Our waitress was attentive & wonderful. We had a great evening. Thank you.
I had a business lunch and it was superb. Portions were perfect, each dish was presented well, service was pleasant and timely. The only reason I gave a 4 for ambiance is that for a business meeting it was a bit dark. Would have been perfect for dinner with my husband but felt a bit uncomfortable for a business lunch. That being said, I'll definitely go there again.
Amazing food and service
Max Fish always hits the mark. The food is delicious and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive and the menu and the specials are always interesting. They are a go to for celebrating special family occassions. I have a gluten allergy and they are accommodating and have a great number of options.
Excellent service and delicious food I can’t wait to return
