Market is a relaxed, welcoming environment. There were 6 of us, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, remarking on the freshness of ingredients. The dinner salads were especially appreciated. Tortellini, though good, was possibly the least appreciated item. Service was terrific. It was surprising to hear how willing the kitchen was to make substitutions, split entrees and salads, etc. Overall, a really enjoyable casual meal.

Nice options for every diner on the menu. Server was knowledgeable and personable. Butterscotch pudding was the star of the show (as the server suggested)!

Market Restaurant is our consistent go-to when in wine country as it is a consistently wonderful experience. The food is excellent with a range of choices and prices. The building itself is architecturally and historically beautiful. Parking is easy. Service and especially the waiter, Alf is welcoming, personable and professional. Market has a beautiful, historical bar....be sure to ask about the history of it while enjoying perfectly made cocktails. P.S. make a day of it - wine tasting, catch a late afternoon film at the cozy Cameo Cinema across the street, and dinner at Market (or vice-versa; an early dinner at Market followed by a film.

We hosted friends who were visiting from Texas, and they thoroughly enjoyed the lunch that we had. They have visited Napa Valley and St. Helena on a number of occasions, and commented that they will definitely return to the Market.

Once we were seated, it took quite a while for the server to tell us about today’s menu etc. My fillet medallions were cold when my plate arrived but my friend’s salad was wonderful. It’s the first time our service was not wonderful.We trust our next visit will be better. Inger Laidley
