Manta at The Cape a Thompson Hotel
Fabulous. Inventive. Unusual and amazing flavors. Beautiful room great service.
Amazing dinner! The fish was delicate and fresh and everything was super flavorful. Cocktails were inventive and absolutely delicious. Our servers Sofy and Mau and Manuel were excellent. Attentive and fun to talk with and gave great recommendations.
Everything about our dining experience was exceptional. Our waiters Oliver and Raul were knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and every dish they recommended was delicious.
The Sommelier (sorry I can’t remember his name) was outstanding and returned to our table time after time to refresh our glasses and check on us. Is it a cheap night? No, but you go there knowing what you are going to get, and boy, do they deliver!
Fantastic meal. Recommend the five-course tasting menu. We had a perfect Casa Madero wine with dinner, but unfortunately, it was 4x-5x retail price. Manta doesn't need to gouge that much. But all in all one of the best meals we've ever had.
Great food, experience and service. The tuna sashimi was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The drinks are also very good.
Had a group of 8. Went upstairs to The. Roof for sunset and cocktails before our reservation. They were gracious enough to let the restaurant know we were running 10 min. Late. Had a wonderful meal. The Fried chicken was the most popular. The octopus was good and the rest was fine. Had an after dinner Cocktail and it was amazing.
Definitely worth a trip back. It was very pricey!
Excelente comida, excelente servicio, el lugar agradable recomiendo llegar al atardecer para ver el arco con luz de dia y poder apreciar el hotel.
Amazing experience; food was out of this world!!!
Manta is certainly one of the best restaurants in Cabo. The restaurant is beautiful, view is magical, the food is outstanding, and the service is impeccable. My wife even got Spanish lessons from Manuel between courses. I recommend trying the tasting menu which allows each diner to pick out 5 course from the menu. . Each diner gets to pick out his/ her own courses allowing you to try out most or all of dishes on the menus. Together my wife and I picked out 9 dishes, saving one for dessert. Each one was better than the next from the ceviche to the N.Y. strip steak.
Been coming to Cabo for 15 yrs. This was bottom 3 meals ever. Grossly over-rated.
Aguacate drink and the Tres Leches cake were out of this world
Experience was nice, but not worth the money. Service was great. Tres leche was AMAZING!
I booked at Manta with hesitation. I am a fan of Enrique Olvera and was so excited to find one of his restaurants in a city I would be visiting BUT I have MULTIPLE FOOD ALLERGIES and was worried I'd have to miss out on most of the food and sit and watch everyone eat delicious food while I ate a simple protein and vegetables, which is normal when I dine at restaurants. We were a group of 9 and once seated were asked about food allergies. Our waiter Lionel listened and wrote down all of my allergies with a worrisome look on his face and said he would see what the chef could do. We decided on the 5 course tasting menu and I was super excited and surprised when I was able to eat every single one of the courses!!! The tasting menu was served family style to the other 8 guests in my party but a special version of each dish was adapted to meet my dietary needs! Each time Lionel or any of the assistant waiters placed on a new course on the table they would always warn me which plates I could not eat and then the alternate version was placed in front of me. I have never had such excellent attention and service at any restaurant like I did at Manta!! The other members of my party had raving reviews about the food and service as well but in addition they all left so impressed with the care and attention to food allergies at Manta. Thank you to the chef and entire staff at Manta and especially to Lionel for taking the extra steps to make sure this dining experience was delicious and AMAZING!!
Service very slow and food was ok but very expensive
Amazing rooftop for pre dinner sunset drinks .. Followed by dinner down at Manta .. great ambiance .. food was fantastic .. not so impressed by the wagu
Entire property is insanely beautiful. A must stop spot.
Had a wonderful dinner. Atmosphere and ambiance were wonderful, service from the entire staff including our server Ricardo was great! Would definitely recommend, and will be back!
Atmosphere, views, and decor were phenomenal. The service was impeccable and staff was very attentive and welcoming. Food was sublime!
The dining experience was perfect. The Roof Top for pre-drinks to watch sunset then dinner at Manta with views of the waves crashing against the rocks. The service was epic along with the menu selection and food. A bit pricy but very nice overall.
Manuel & Sofia were excellent hosts for a relaxing evening in Cabo. The menu was a bit restricted but we all enjoyed ourselves.
Nos enfermamos del estómago por la cochinita
Manuel was excellent. His service was impeccable and food delicious
Beautiful experience. Lovely view and the employees were wonderful!
Excellent in all categories
Excellent meal and service and fantastic view outside
Fantastic food and great service in a location that presents great views of the sea
Beautiful dinner with outstanding service!!
Fancy place, not the fanciest food, and expensive for what it is. Also their wine list is insultingly over priced, 4x store prices.
Fabulous experience with their tasting menu. Absolutely perfect in every way. I would highly recommend but it will. It be cheap. Just enjoy it and pay the bill. It’s worth it.
Fantastic meal. We ate outside on patio. I recommend the 5-course tasting menu.
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing views! Service was excellent. Food was unusual. Over priced.
Amazing view! Amazing food! Amazing cocktails! Amazing service! We will visit every time we are visiting Cabo! Plan to arrive an hour before sunset! We went at 5:00pm - had “The Cape“ cocktail at the hotel bar, we watched the surfers and took in the incredible view! Then we went to the patio at The Manta at 5:30! We were the first to arrive so the staff captured amazing photos of us as the sun set! We both opted for the 5 course tasting option! We will always do this! Every entree was very good! The pics don’t do it justice! The soft shell crab taco, sashimi, sweet potato mole and tres leches cake were some of our favorites! The cake was very different from any we have tried before! The mole is made with 23 ingredients and served with corn tortillas! They also gave us complimentary Mezcal Sherbet to cleanse our palette! So tasty! This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Cabo! Must visit!
Average good but prices overrated
Food and service were great!
Manta was amazing. Leonardo our server was 5 stars. He explain the whole menu with lots of knowledge. My wife and I celebrated our 9 yr anniversary and it was just perfect great staff great food great ambiance just perfect..I been to puyol and manta. Love Enrique olveras food. Thank you Manta
Best meal we have ever experienced in Cabo. The service was impeccable, the ceviche to die for, fish tacos... wow, the views, beautiful!
Superb food, service and the best view in Cabo!
We have been visiting this restaurant for a few years. Unfortunately, this time did not live up to our experiences of times past. The menu hasn't changed much but the food has diminished in flavor. The restaurant was not busy on a Friday night but it took forever to get our drinks and our meals. We apparently had two servers but had to refill our own water.
We aren't sure if we will revisit. Too many other places that serve food at that level for half the price.
We assembled a tasting menu from their a la carte menu: sashimi, beet ceviche, mushroom ramen and wagyu beef yakitori. Sashimi was unevenly cut and full of sinew. Accompanying sauces made no sense. Beets came in huge chunks with no complementary flavors. Ramen was okay but broth was murky and grainy. Beef was an expensive disaster. Told to cook thin slices on hibachi grill for 20 seconds on one side 10 seconds on the other left it still raw and flavorless. Served with a pineapple purée and corn tortillas. Horrible. The restaurant did offer an alternative dish but we just wanted to leave. We paid the bill including the wagyu and left. Great cocktails before dinner with barman Ivan
Original, interesting, beautiful, and most of all delicious food with a customer friendly dining format, all located within a gorgeous space. What's not to love?
